I agree, that was the best place I visited. The Sea of Galilee is beautiful too. Yes, it is wise to stay off the buses. I would also visit the garden tomb location. Whether you think that is where Christ was buried or not, it is a neat place. Listen in stores, some store owners charge foreigners different prices, this is not a good practice and if caught they will normally admit it and give you the normal price.

I visited in 2001, but I think there is a new Holocaust History Museum at Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem memorial.
