No More Attacks?
April 26, 2007 - 09:50 ET by JimboWhy haven’t there been any terrorist attacks in the United States since 9/11?
I believe there are a few contributing factors.
First, contrary to what many in this country would like us to believe, our military efforts in the Middle East have had very positive affects. The leadership of Al Qaeda has been disrupted through the outright elimination of these individuals or the detaining of them. Those in the organization that have attempted to step in to fill the void have their hands full in attempting to prevent Democracy from taking root in their own backyards. At the very least, it has made it difficult for them to successfully organize another 9/11 style attack.
Secondly, the massive “success” of the 9/11 operation shook the world. The terrorists know they can get a lot of mileage from such an action. So they let it be, and have had us live in fear of another attack, while expending untold resources ensuring that it doesn’t happen again.
Third, the terrorists have “set the bar” with 9/11. They don’t see a car bomb in midtown Manhattan as being a worthy effort. They intend to strike us again on a level that dwarfs 9/11. Perhaps simultaneous 9/11 type actions that kill tens of thousands. Maybe biological. Maybe nuclear. Either way, this is unquestionably their intent. Anyone who believes otherwise is a fool.
Which brings me to my last point. Anyone (are you listening MSM, Pelosi, Reid, et. al.?) who provides aid and comfort to the enemy by undermining our military, their goals and our Commander in Chief during a time of war is a seditionist at best, and a traitor at worst. The actions of these individuals must never be forgotten. I, for one, will hold them personally responsible in the event of another attack on our soil.
Looking at the situation realistically and historically, there has been dissention and differences of opinions during any war. What is happening today goes beyond that. What is happening today is unparalleled in this nation’s history. This country has fallen into a blind, liberal driven, misinformed, politically correct black hole from which I fear we may never emerge.

I believe there are some on the Left who are so full of hatred, bile and a lust for power that they would love to see another attack on America so they can say the attack was Bush's fault and the fault of Republicans and use it for political gains in 2008.

A terrorist attack would strengthen public resolve to the point that the democrats & MSM could never sway them into supporting a cut and run policy.

What I mean to say is, I don’t think the terrorists agree with you. It’s a fact that there have been plans for terrorist activity on Americans that have been thwarted by the American and British intelligence forces which leads me to believe they are trying. These are not sane people. I have to believe that if they have the opportunity to detonate a dirty bomb in the NY financial district, or release a biological agent in downtown LA, I’m thinking that they are going to jump at the chance.

I cannot express in words my disgust and burning contempt for both Congress and the Administration for this spectacle that is being played out regarding funding this war. While these politicians dance their power dance, soldiers and their families suffer. The Army, that I am apart of, is incapable of saying that it cannot perform a mission. We are neck deep in this war right now and the money has virtually stopped. THE WAR HASN’T STOPPED. “So what happens?” you may ask. Well, the Army cuts funding for everything else in the Army (and rightly so) to support those in the field. These cuts in funding in every other area of the Army affect everyone, and especially screws families. One example is family housing on Army bases loses (sorry I don’t have a figure) much funding (I know because things don’t get fixed when they break now). It is always those in uniform who are asked to make just one more sacrifice for the war (and we proudly make those sacrifices, often with heavy hearts) like extending second and third tours from 12 months to 15 months. I don’t see any of these power-thirsty demagogues in Congress making ANY sacrifices (as they try to squeeze a couple 100 million into the war supplemental to fund their presidential nominating conventions). It is despicable and, in my opinion, criminal. Curse them.
Sorry for flying off the handle there. I just needed to let off a little steam before I got back to work. God bless our soldiers.

If I break the law, I am confident I will be, if not arrested, charged with a crime and have to answer for it in a court of law. How can these violators, those who provide sanctuary, get away with it? But I go back to the basic question--why do some Americans welcome illegal immigrants? I have recently been involved in discussions with associates and I am amazed at how strongly they feel that we should just be quiet about it. It also has been my experience that those who feel we should tolerate or allow these people to come, stand to gain financially from illegal immigrants.
I am not a xenophobe nor do I have any prejudices dealing with immigration or race, ethnic background or religion, so long as people live by the laws. I do have a distinct prejudice about ILLEGAL immigrants.
