April 23, 2007 - 10:02 ET by Dan The Man 2Shooting Dice
Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the craps table.
A very attractive blonde woman from Alabama arrived ....and bet twenty-thousand dollars ($20,000) on a single roll of the dice.
She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I play topless."
With that, she stripped to the waist; rolled the dice; and yelled, "Come on, baby.... Southern Girl needs new clothes!"
As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up-and-down... and squealed... "YES! YES! I WON! I WON!"
She hugged each of the dealers... and then picked up her winnings and her clothes, and quickly departed.
The dealers stared at each other dumfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?"
The other answered, "I don't know... I thought you were watching."
Moral of this story ---
Not all Southerners are stupid.
Not all blondes are dumb.
But, all men ..... are men

April 23, 2007 - 10:26 ET by AJI have a question for those of you who are still in college, live near a college, or often tred streets near and on a college campus. How much do you really think the average American really gives a rip about global warming? When I walk down streets surrounding my university, all I see is beer cases and week-old coolers and cans and poorly pruned trees, bushes, and plants, even tires and car parts, and clothing and a whole array of other things that I cannot even begin to describe. Given that fact, I personally think that America either is not believing Algores crap or simply don't care.

April 23, 2007 - 10:36 ET by mattmI think NB should start putting more emphasis on news that was either NOT covered by the MSM or was buried. There's already some of that, but it's such a big part of media bias that it should be more prominent on NB.

April 23, 2007 - 10:45 ET by ricklailI was looking for the video of the 12 year old beheading the "spy." I ran across an interesting web site. www.jihadunsup.com. They were using a speech that Algore made several years ago as propaganda. Didn't look for any Reid or Pelosi statements but they are probably there.

I looked for a link to that beheading too this week-end, Saturday I guess it was, I heard about it on FOX on BOR's show first, I could find no link, haven't looked today, but this should be given a lot more attention in my opinion, but of course it won't be with the leftist msm....agenda agenda agenda.
Here is a question for the NB
April 23, 2007 - 10:52 ET by contraryHere is a question for the NB staff...
I have seen language on this blog that would be considered R-rated in response to stupid hollywood liberals (Sheryll Crow) and their stupid comments. Such language does not appear to be moderated. However, in regards to bloggers (either liberal or otherwise) making stupid comments at NB, the rules appear to be no R-rated language allowed in resonses. I am thinking of the heartfelt F-off or STFU kind of responses to absolute idiocy in this case. Why is it okay (as I have seen it) to emotionally rebuke a hollywood liberal, but not a live poster here at NB?

April 23, 2007 - 11:35 ET by tumbler_2007I say it it you just as you say it to Contrary. If it's good for the goose, good for the gander too.
He's very much RIGHT. Unless we monitor our speech soon this site will be no better than Hoofypost and various other disgusting dens of iniquity. I think it's unfair to Brent Bozell and his family of editors. And the parallel Contrary draws is completely appropriate. Why do folks on our side chastize Libs for acting like animals but never worry about our own behavior ? Then again, you might be reacting to him/her in such a way on account of your PMS flare-up on a Monday in April. Maybe he/she should forgive you. Lol!

April 23, 2007 - 11:48 ET by misterbillBT if anyone is contrary--on this site it is your (sarc-on) best friend (sarc-off) Tumbler. It seems he waits for you to post so he can challenge you. If you said "up"--the Lurker would come out of hiding and say "down". What a waste of bandwidth. I don't need to say anything in your defense--you have torpedoed him nicely in every exchange. It's alovely 70+ degree, sunny day here in GA. I will forget about him as soon as I post this.
PS I am going to start using the Atlanta Constitution as TP (thoughtpolice?) from now on. It will keep sheryl crow happy and save the other TP.

April 23, 2007 - 11:56 ET by tumbler_2007Bigtimer, is it comfortable for you to be associated with misterboil, who never once has thought before he posted in these threeads? How does it feel to walk in lockstep with such a moron ?
He's willing to interlope into any argument he finds me in; and you're eager to have me LEAVE;
But between the two of you you haven't ever posted an interesting opinion or observation except to lob a potshot at another person. You and he are banal, boring and useless contributors to NewsBusters. Sorry to have to say it. It needed somebody with nerve to do this.
If your displeasure and misterboil's anger and self-absorption are any sign of taste and/or discretion, we might as well be Hoofypost. You'll take nothing away from them in substance or originality. Just two tired, washed out germ factories ordering others around ?
Order them to watch their offensive language. Do something of value and good will. Don't hangaround for NOTHING !
Well, so much for you bei
April 23, 2007 - 12:20 ET by AJWell, so much for you being a "vulgar-free" person.
The blog posts in the past that have mentioned the fact that liberal blogs on average have a lot more swear words than do conservative ones is not an attempt to glorify conservative blogs. The point of such an observation is that it can be used as further proof that the left has no sense of morality and respect for themselves and other people. Now if what you got out of such observant posts on this blog is that NBers were trying to "glorify" conservative blogs as being more perfect, then, for that I will happily say that I am sorry. Conservatives have their own problems as well. I swear like mad but I try to hold down especially in public. Notice I said "try", because often I don't succeed. Liberals don't feel any guilt about spewing trash-talk and gossip and swear words from their mouths. And you can even try and pin a liberal about vulgar language and all they will say is "I don't know why [...put bad thing here...] is such a bad thing." And believe me, I've tried to pin a liberal about vulgarity and yet they just keep asking that question in an attempt to self-justify... it's proof, in and of itself, that they don't care about the meaning of the word nor the effect it can have on people. To that end, they won't admit their problems because they don't see them as problems. That is what I get out of blog posts on this site that observe little things like lib blog comments as having more swear words. And maybe that is not the intention of the blogger so if someone can correct me then by all means.
So, tumbler, you can either take it or leave it.

April 23, 2007 - 14:10 ET by tumbler_2007I've been known to answer injudiciouly. --I'll say "Piss up a rope," or Shit or Putz.
But I've never used F-bombs or demeaned anybody's sex or his genital organs the way YOU cretins do every day. I've never made snide remarks about your wives; but you've done it to me. The most offensive thing I've had to offer was Broke-Back and pervert, addressing a faith-basher.
Here we're talking about obscenities and blurred obscenitites that don't hide, just euphemize. They're meant to be understood as obscene. And for what purpose ?
Because a creep or a hypocrite has never learned an English vocabulary from which to draw his protesting language. So; he reverts back to middle-school PUNK vocabulary. The words of filthy swine hanging out in the street.
I said clearly and i'll repeat; If we have any appreciation and respect for Brent Bozell and the website he makes available here to men & women of good will; let's cut out the garbage. Is that some kind of insult to the lot of you ? I can take my own medicine for the sake of a grown-up and respectable NewsBusters blogsite. Of course, I have an ample vocabulary; I write all day without smut. Others of us will be gagging on their own mouth-mucus, I suspect.

Are you really surprised? These are the same people that rush to support Ann Coulter when she calls muslims, towel-heads, but cry bloody murder when Imus says nappy headed hoes. Or don't forget the people that are rabidly anti-global warming because they claim there isn't enough scientific support but then they believe in creationism that has absolutely zero scientific validity.
Didn't you know hypocrisy is one of the major platforms of the right?

1) Newsbusters supported Ann Coulter's remarks by claiming she was simply trying to be funny. How is that different from Imus? They're both the same yet you all supported one while attacking another. This is Hypocrisy
2) The same people that support creationism which has no empirical basis decry global warming claiming a lack of scientific support. Ignore science for on set of beliefs, and then demand it to attack another. This is called Hypocrisy.

Settle down, Syg
April 23, 2007 - 14:34 ET by tumbler_2007Syg; you protest from a weak enough premise. Nobody here (I know I never) attacked Imus for being politically incorrect. We laughed at the ones who went crying over Imus' fracas. -- I was happy to see it happen but I don't attack him. I uphold free speech, Dude! (Straw dog One).
Ann Coulter wrote a best-seller. Some folks were offended simply because the hard language gets quoted out of context. have you tried to set it in context before saying she's caught doing what Imus does ? NO, and remember; hers were not racial slurs. In fact most everything she says about Liberals is quite factual. She puts it in context, then shoots her barbs very accurately. That's why Cool Ann is always welcomed where ever she goes. If it weren't so, she would have long past been shot down.
Creationism as far as I recall was never pushed here by anybody. but we've ridiculed leftist support for JUNK SCIENCE, and some of it is indisputably "evolutionary science," meaning BOGUS eduation in the fields of biology and/or human evolution. THAT"S NOT HYPOCRISY, it's an opposing view of reality. (Straw Dog again.)

I was not commenting on the right or wrongness of vulgarity, just the consistency of enforcement. But I think RJ has a good point where an ongoing, live conversation with someone should probably preclude that kind of response, and is enforced here as such.
I was just wondering about the methodology of moderators when they see emotionally charged responses of this kind. How do they make a determination. This is, of course, in response to a tech blogger (Kathy Sierra?) who received outrageous comments, and how blogs are adapting to the difficult tasks of moderating all comments.

Iowa newspaper prints another fawning article on Soulforce
April 23, 2007 - 13:42 ET by nkviking75The Mason City (Iowa) Globe-Gazette continued to serve as a newsletter for Soulforce, the gay activist group visiting Christian colleges to confront them on their traditional opposition to homosexuality. The most recent article, posted on the website on Monday afternoon and probably appearing in print editions on Tuesday, paraphrases the latest e-mail from Dean Genth, a member of the group who hails from Mason City. The article gives no indication of any attempt to get information from any other source, including the colleges visited.
This is the latest in a series of such articles.

April 23, 2007 - 13:52 ET by sarcasmoI love it. The Gordon Brown disaster for UK taxpayers (he managed to sell 1/2 their nation's gold reserves in the dumbest possible way and at a historic price-nadir, losing them billions of pounds) has actually been made into a price-indicator. By recently asking the IMF to sell, Gordon's saying "buy" again to individuals. And is it only me finding it weird that a market can be as opaque as gold, where in the same article it's a "rumor" that an immense bank is short 1000 tonnes of the stuff? Might this be the same market where recently there have been credible allegations of double-counting of gold?? Yeah, I know, it's nutty, and clearly nobody should listen or pay attention to me -- especially nobody in the financial "journalist" community. As long as it's only readers and not TV viewers who know the truth, the scam can go-on safely...

Did anybody catch Smerconish
April 23, 2007 - 14:42 ET by bigtimerDid anybody catch Smerconish this morning taking the slot for Imus for three days?
Just wondered what anyone else thought...he has never been one of my favorites for awhile when I would listen to him on Imus before as a call in guest...but I thought the show was pretty good, and refreshing...I liked the guests he had on too, with the exception of Matthews....lol.
Guess they are going to have other try-outs too...wanna bet that the most liberal radio guy/gal will get the spot permanently?
Here is a link with some info...

April 23, 2007 - 14:42 ET by Dave REmail I got yesterday:
Hillary's Deal With the Devil
Hillary was finishing up a day as Senator for New York when the Devil suddenly
appeared in her office and made her an offer...
"I am here to offer you a deal," the Devil said. "I will give you unlimited
wealth, even more power, and a media that will pander to your every whim. In
return, all I ask for is your soul, the souls of every member of your family,
and the souls of all your constituents."
Hillary pondered for a moment and then asked, "Unlimited wealth and power?"
"Absolutely unlimited," the Devil asserted.
"A pandering media?" she asked.
"They'll fall over themselves to support you, no matter what you say or do," the
Devil assured.
"And you want my soul, my family's souls, and the souls of my constituents?" she
asked.
"Yes. All of them," the Devil answered.
Hillary was deep in thought for a moment, then finally spoke:
"So...what's the catch?"
This republic will not survive the continued neglect of its people.-

April 23, 2007 - 17:14 ET by bigtimerI just heard of a speech on C-Span where the spineless one Harry Reid, is calling for some spine to be put into the Iraq War spending bill and withdrawal plans...my words there...to an extent.
Here is the latest, I am sure they are going to show the whole hearing and votes today between the House and Senate later, the Dem's are crazy traitors to this country, it is about time for Lieberman to make the jump.http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2007/04/23/national/w140907D32.DTL&type=politics

April 23, 2007 - 18:42 ET by radiofitz34Harry Reid showed his true colors a few days ago with that "we lost" comment. His true colors consist mainly of yellow. Reid basically embarassed the entire nation and made our troops excedingly mad at him.
I'd say he either appologize or leave the senate. Shame on you Mr. Reid. You need a really long time out. As in forever.
