More Asshattery peformance by the Truthers, TFH, and, hell, they're all the same........enjoy

As we discussed, the 9-11 Accountability Conference now includes this statement on its website:

As a result of the controversy surrounding Eric D. Williams, he has stepped down from involvement in the 9/11 Accountability Conference. The 911 Accountability Conference does not support Holocaust denial, nor does the 9/11 Truth Movement. No other speaker listed here is known to have published works related to the Holocaust.

I'm not ready yet to name names because the website where this is found is questionable, but what would you make of someone who apparently wrote this? (Selected portions bolded):

However one feels about Green's perspective, and whatever the facts about WWII, it seems tragic that systematic Zionist Big Lies (we just want a homeland, not our own state; the Arabs started it; it was a land without people for a people without land; the Germans hated Jews for no reason whatsoever, just like the Arabs do now; the Palestinians left voluntarily in 1948 under orders of the Nazi Mufti of Jerusalem; most of the so-called Palestinians were not really from Palestine; the Arabs started the 1967 war; allegations of disproportionate Jewish influence in the American academic, media and financial sectors are false and anti-Semitic; the attack on the Liberty was a mistake; the Iraq war is about democracy or Saddam or US security or Peak Oil or anything except Israel, etc. etc.) have cast legitimate doubt upon ANYTHING Jews say about Jews and their recent history, including the Holocaust. As a rational person who is not a specialist in the subject of WWII, but who has studied the history of Zionist Big Lies vis-a-vis Palestine, I cannot possibly dismiss the arguments of people like Green, Irving, and even Zundel. And even if the 6-million-deliberately-murdered-for-purely-ethnic-reasons figure is correct--which it very well may be; I have grown agnostic on that after studying the Big Lies of Zionism-- I would still have to characterize the Holocaust as it is taught in the US as a hideously destructive myth. (A myth is a sacred, worldview-inaugurating story its users believe to be true.)

The upshot: nobody in the debate should be boycotted or vilified; nobody should be arrested for expressing honestly-held opinions; all voices should be heard; and the destructive myths and mind-numbing censorship imposed by Zionism must be swept clean so an honest assessment of history can emerge--at which point the Holocaust revisionists may very well be proven incorrect. And even if they are, they obviously should not be harassed or vilified, much less jailed!!

In the meantime, voices like Green and AFPN should be heard and subjected to rational criticism, not vilified or silenced. And the use of state power to enforce Holocaust Fundamentalism must end!

If that's not Holocaust Denial, it's at least its cousin. I have done just enough research on this to conclude that there is good reason to believe that this may have been written by one of the shining lights of 9-11 Denial, who is scheduled to speak at the 9-11 Accountability Conference. As for the gentlemen being defended, reading from left to right: Mark Green, David Irving, and Ernst Zundel. Holocaust deniers all.

I'm just going to put this out there for now; perhaps somebody at TruthMove would like to "break" this story? We'll revisit it in a couple of days after I've done some more research if the movement does not police itself.

BTW, thanks to a reader who pointed this out. I won't name the source for now for obvious reasons.

I was listening to this interview posted recently by Alfons, of the group Veterans for 9/11 Truth with Michael Cook. Michael Cook is the teacher who showed one of his coworkers his gun, and then when asked by investigators why he carried a gun said it was because the CIA was after him and 9/11 was an inside job. He was soon committed to a mental hospital and is now facing hearings on his sanity. A tragic case regardless.

Anyway, aside from this strange case, I was amazed to hear this part of the interview towards the end, when one of our old friends makes an appearance.

Alfons: Have you heard of a fellow down there named Lauro Chavez?

Michael: Say again?

Alfons: Lauro Chavez.

Michael: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know him. We hung out a little bit, he came to one of our meetings.

Alfons: Uh huh.

Michael: And we did a Loose Change screening at NKU.

Alfons: Uh huh.

Michael: And he was there. I haven’t talked to him a lot since then. I was out of the loop for 45 days.

Alfons: He was at CENTCOM command and claims to have overheard the reference to the orders for stand-down of NORAD.

Michael: Yeah

Alfons: But he doesn’t have any evidence. I mean he can’t prove it, it is just his word.

Michael: Has it been verified that he was there? Because when I went in the first time, that was all… people were checking him out and wondering whether he was egit.

Alfons: I don’t think it’s verifiable. I don’t think anyone verified that.

Michael: OK

Alfons: But that’s his story and you know…

Michael: Well I thanked him for coming forward. He could be totally on the level. What kind of reason has somebody got to fake something like that?

Alfons: Yeah, I don’t see where there is anything to gain.

Michael: Yeah, exactly, that’s one of the things you look for.

Alfons: Yup.

The thing is, Alfons is well aware that the only evidence out on Lauro Chavez, is that he is a complete fraud with a photoshopped DD-214. I know this because I e-mailed him telling him this, when I found out he was listed in the Veterans for 9/11 truth "list of honor" last October. Alfons replied at the time, rather bizarrely:

Lauro is entitled to membership so far, even if he is a liar, he is telling the right lie, his story is just not strong, it has not been estabished as false as of yet. If he is an operative, we want to keep an eye on him.

Interestingly enough, since being exposed here and in the JREF forum as a fraud, Lauro Chavez has completely disappeared from view, but the truthers continue to cite him as if his story just hasn't been proven and should still be considered.

Dylan Avery, on the recent news that Holocaust Denier Eric D. Williams had stepped down from the 9/11 Accountability Conference:

We were going to attend anyway, but this certainly makes things alot easier. Now we don't have to release a disclaimer. We've made too many promises to back out of this conference.

They've made a hasty job of taking his name down, but he's still mentioned on the Exhibitor's Page as of 10:00 MST tonight:

There will be room for 32 spaces on a first-come/first-serve basis, consisting of anywhere from one to five 6’ skirted and draped tables with one to two chairs per booth. You will find a copy of the basic floor plan below. Please contact myself, Eric D. Williams, to secure your location. If you prefer a table in the hallway near registration, please contact me.

In fairness I suspect that's just an oversight, although they haven't put together anything on whom to make the checks payable to.

Williams’ book was poorly written, poorly researched and in much need of a copyeditor to judge by the malapropisms, atrocious grammar, and frequent misspellings. He says the only thing he’s guilty of is “thought crime.” Actually, he’s guilty of something his fellow 9/11 conspiracy theorists are guilty of: Writing about and claiming expertise in a subject they are not qualified to address.

Ultimately, Williams is a coward. It’s obvious from his statement that he still believes that the systematic murder of the Jewish population of Europe under the Nazi regime did not take place. So why pull your book, Eric, when you still believe in what you wrote? Why not have the courage of your unsavory opinions? This is what annoys me about his ilk. Hit them with opposition, and they run and hide. At least until no one is looking at them any more.

9-11 Conspiracy Smasher has a no-planer video that must have been done by Killtown, because the narrator points out a face in the smoke, then the number as we discussed earlier. Whoever said that Killtown should have been two notches above psycho on the Nutbar-O-Meter, you were right!

Meanwhile, the great "Debunking the Debunkers" project is starting out with a debunking of Abby Scott's video. As Abby points out this will be relatively difficult. If you haven't seen Abby's movie before it's an absolute hoot.

Now when Stalin had his political opponents airbrushed out of photos, it at least made sense. He had control of the media and government, there was no one to oppose him. These guys trying to pretend Eric D. Williams had no major role in the 9/11 accountability conference, are just being silly. You see, there is this little thing called the Internet...

From January 11, on 9/11 blogger, a post which received 92 comments and a perfect score of 10, reprinting an article from the Arizona Republic on the conference:

A national conference focusing on conspiracy theories tied to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks is coming to Chandler next month.

"We are taking the information one step further, and we want to raise accountability," said Eric D. Williams, a filmmaker and conference co-chairman.

Odd, not a single complaint that Williams was not the conference co-chair.

A week later, they interviewed Williams about the conference. Also from 9/11 Blogger:

Eric D. Williams Co-Director of the 911 Accountability Conference was a guest on Lone Lantern Radio, January 10th. Host Gary Franchi discussed guests, goals, direction and the purpose for the conference with Eric. Janette MacKinlay called in towards the end of the show to share her thoughts on the conference and the importance of accountability.

Once again, nobody challenges his credentials. And now we are to believe he is nothing more than the vendor coordinator.

Well, that settles things, right? Oh, sure, he's still scheduled to give a one-hour speech on the opening day, the mission statement on Saturday, appear on three panels....

And they still show Charles Goyette on Friday night.

The 9/11 deniers constantly express outrage whenever we compare them to anti-Semites or Holocaust deniers. Nothing could be further from the truth, they insist. Well if this is so, then why do they constantly use them as sources for their arguments? I missed this when I first posted on Adri Mehra's latest editorial in the University of Minnesota's student newspaper, but some of the commenters, and a letter writer caught it:

Bad sourcing Whatever shreds of credibility Adri Mehra might have possessed vanished in his last article, in which he cited David Irving's Action Report Web site, seemingly in good faith. Irving is a renowned racist and is classified as a Holocaust denier by 11 countries and by countless organizations and academics. How can Mehra invoke Irving's name in good conscience? I think he owes the Daily and its readers an explanation for this unprecedented and offensive choice of sources.
