The cable news war is certainly getting hotter. After a Fox News spokesperson was quoted last week by the New York Times as calling CNN’s Anderson Cooper “the Paris Hilton of television news,” the “Fox & Friends” morning crew took the baton and really ran with it.
The following video posted Monday at YouTube shows “F&F” personalities having fun with a new Fox News print ad depicting Cooper as losing the ratings battle with FNC’s Greta Van Susteren.
With the caption at the bottom of the screen reading, “Greta Ad Puts CNN’s Anderson Cooper In His Place…2nd,” Steve Doocy commented derisively: “Our ratings on this show are larger than his, and only a third of the country is awake right now.
Ouch! That’s gonna leave a scar.

January 30, 2007 - 19:02 ET by VT Con ManYou gotta love it. They are so right on in this report. I saw it live and it was so sweet!!! They explained how he has had so much huge hype for his grand entrance into reporting (from reality TV of all places) and he is blown away by Greta of Fox. Right after the report, and their laughs, they play a spot that says "Fox News, without all the liberal bias" (Paraphrasing) It is about time!!!How completely refreshing.

January 30, 2007 - 19:41 ET by Six String SpiffFaux.... Every time I see one of you libtards use that word it just turns on a giant neon sign that says "IMMATURE KNOB".. yep that it does. Faux.. Is that all you lefty morons have? You can somehow "stick it" to a network by calling it "Faux"? Good grief... You people have virtually every single other news medium and you complain over one small network. Psssst!! Your intollerance is showing... fool
Sure, I watch the MSM... Through a pair of crosshairs.

You got things mixed up here in the real world...
When you chop or cut wood blars you don't use a target...that is for shooting...bang bang...understand that yet?
You must not know the difference.
Yep, no matter what you try to do...Greta, who is a liberal blows little Andy away!
To add insult to injury, she used to be employed by CNN.
Go Colts!
Just thought I'd throw that in for the heck of it...
Well, how much worse is that
January 31, 2007 - 08:42 ET by aeroWell, how much worse is that for Anderson Cooper, then? If Greta van Susteren is so ugly and repulsive, but she's still beating pretty-boy Cooper in the ratings, Cooper must be the worst media man ever!
Blarsen You've Reappeared
January 31, 2007 - 10:58 ET by emjem24Oh, boy it's blarsen. I guess you've crawled out from under your rock. It's always such fun when the resident loony makes his voice heard, isn't it blarsen? I actually think Greta is quite cute for a liberal. Now you, your angry, bitter vitriole really is ugly. Did you get a girl with that fine disposition? Or perhaps substance doesn't matter with your type? No, probably you would need a loyal camp follower to do your bidding, huh, blarsen? Hmmm...I'd thought you learned your lesson the last time you were on or are you the alternate persona of hater or rhayes? After all, you all are so interchangeable with the same liberal talking point, hate Bush, hate the military, hate myself, hate the country mantra. It will be a great day when you've worn out your welcome and you've used up your last chance to spout garbage on NewsBusters. Go Huff n' Blow somewhere else. I'm sure DKos or Huff n' Puff miss you so much.

January 30, 2007 - 19:35 ET by Guy Arthur ThomasFor the record:
TVNewser (edited by Brian Stelter, which by the way appears to be a bit of a Fox hater and Gooberman/MSNBC lover but does have one thing going for it, it posts the Nielsen ratings consistently) reports that on average Greta gets from 1 million viewers on a slow night and 1.6 on a busy night (neither being worst or best on record) where Cooper ranges from as low as 500,000 to 900,000 on an unusually good night (neither being worst or best). There are times with Van Susteren almost doubles Cooper's ratings.
To be honest, I can barely stomoach Hannity, and O'Reilly I sometimes think is loosing it, really. But I enjoy Fox and the Morning Show is great. Nevermind that someone figured out a lot of newsy types of conservatives seem to believe demagoguery is an acceptable form of sound reasoning as long as it echos moralistic preaching, that isn't why I like Fox News. I don't expect everything they serve is going to be to my liking.
However, Fox News has diversity and plain old b@lls the MsM doesn't and probably won't in the forseeable future. Fox News doesn't pretend and they call it like they see it. They don't play games with wanting to be number 1 and for 5 years they have been the number 1 cable news network, they unseated CNN!! No one had ever done that. Fox is willing to deal with topics and give every person from every extreme point of view a chance to blow hard into the mic and spit out whatever garbage they think is suitable to present.
I won't pretend for a minute they don't have a right bent to them, why in blazes does anyone think they were created in the first place? Sheeeeesh! Apart from Fox all I get is liberal to super-liberal bias and as a moderate I can smell it a mile away.
But look at Doocy and them in the morning...simply being honest and laughing about the truth. What irks so many people is that when John Stewart wants to play comic but be taken seriously as a news commentator and interviewer at times, the other side can't stand it when news and information people want to enjoy their license and have a good laugh in the same vein. Stewart makes fun of the excesses or what he believes are excesses of culture and politics...so is there some reason morning show hosts who quite often introduce a bit of levity on all networks can't have the same kind of laughs and visit that side of the line now and then, you know, enjoy their jobs with a satirical look at media excesses and bafoonery? Well to the libs who live in double standard land, of course it is just horrible and of course we can expect Stewart or Colbert to be offended and do their nightly bit...in the meantime...back to you balbozo for your nightly super-lib apology.
If you claim to be a conservative, please don't disgrace yourself and conservatism by thinking and arguing like a liberal. Go Rudy!

Cooper Another Empty-Headed Pretty Boy Journalist
January 31, 2007 - 10:48 ET by emjem24Hahahahahahahahaha. The only reason people like Williams and Cooper get hired is because of their liberal beliefs and good looks. Possessing seemingly good looks and charisma caries weight with the masses. However, that's just a tiny factor when you consider the overall population. We live in a population of over 300 millian but these guys get only about 2-5% of the population's attention. I'd crow if I were Fox News. I watched Greta (she's a liberal and I don't agree with her or Alan Colmes in most things) but there's a reason her show works. There's actually an intelligent and thoughtful brain inside that head of hers...something that Brian Williams and Anderson Cooper wouldn't know much about. All they are is fluff seemingly dressed up as serious, intelligent news. Once the sheen wears off that's all the viewer gets. No new perspective, no new take.
