Pat Buchanan: Republicans Caving on Amnesty Like Chamberlain Giving Sudetenland to Hitler

Noel Sheppard
June 11, 2013 | 21:52

Not surprisingly, conservative columnist Pat Buchanan is not pleased with Republicans talking about agreeing to an immigration reform bill that ends up being another amnesty without closing the border.

On the Laura Ingraham Show Tuesday, Buchanan equated it to Neville Chamberlain giving Sudetenland to Adolf Hitler.

Tebow Joins ‘Bluest of Blue State’ Patriots

Matthew Philbin
June 11, 2013 | 14:18

And Rabbi Joshua Hammerman thought he had a “Tebow Problem” before. Back in 2011, the columnist at The Jewish Week fretted that the Tim Tebow-led Denver Broncos might beat his “beloved” New England Patriots in the upcoming AFC championship game. But his wasn’t a fan’s normal pre-game nervousness. It was the hand-wringing of a liberal bigot.

Hammerman imagined that the rubes in fly-over country regarded the “blue-clad Patriots, from the bluest of blue states” as the “Sons of Darkness, with their perfectly coiffed Hollywood quarter back” their “diabolical hoodie-clad coach” and “the most identifiably Jewish owner in sports.” Against Tebow, the “poster boy of the Christian right,” they’d be “playing the role of Pilate.” (In the event, the Broncos lost, forestalling Tebow’s Christian fans from “burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants” in celebration, as Hammerman had warned.)

Air Force 'Notice to Airmen' Warns Them Not to Read NSA Data-Mining and Related Stories

Tom Blumer
June 10, 2013 | 23:46

In a story which I can attest is accurate, Gina Loudon at WND.com, formerly WorldNetDaily, reports that the Air Force's 624th Operations Center is warning airmen not to look at the news.

That's not exactly what they're saying, but they might as well be. What the "Notice to Airmen" says is that "Users are not to use AF NIPRNET systems to access the Verizon phone records collection and other related news stories because the action could constitute a Classified Message Incident." It's currently pretty hard to go to a news site without seeing a blurb on a "related story," given how many "related stories" there are which go way beyond Verizon to nine tech companies, 50 other companies, Edward Snowden, White House, congressional and bureaucrats' responses, etc. The Air Force's claim that reading a news story or even looking at documents which have been made public is a "Classified Message Incident" is pretty shaky, based on the definition provided in a two-year old memo I located. That definition, and a grab of the censorious memo, follow the jump.

Ron Paul: Obama Should Send Snowden a Thank You Note - We're Getting Transparency He Promised

Noel Sheppard
June 10, 2013 | 22:12

Ron Paul on Monday weighed in on the Edward Snowden/National Security Agency leak scandal in a way that only he could.

Appearing on CNN's Piers Morgan Live, Paul said of Snowden, "I think the president ought to send him a thank you letter, because the president ran on transparency, and we're getting a lot of transparency now. So, finally we're getting the president to fulfill his promise about transparency" (video follows with transcript).

9/11 Whistleblower: Snowden Defected to China, Whatever He Knows They Likely Do Too

Noel Sheppard
June 09, 2013 | 21:09

Lieutentant Colonel Anthony Shaffer, the 9/11 whistleblower at the heart of the Able Danger controversy, made some shocking statements Sunday regarding Edward Snowden, the man that just outed himself as the leaker of the National Security Agency's massive phone surveillance operation.

Appearing on Fox News within the past few hours, Shaffer said that Snowden has essentially defected to China, and that whatever information he possesses about this program the Chinese either already have or likely will in the near future.

Cavuto Cuts Mic on 'Obnoxious' Liberal Guest Echoing White House Talking Points

Noel Sheppard
June 08, 2013 | 16:16

Now THAT’S what I’m talking about.

Fox News host Neil Cavuto on Saturday cut the mic of the incredibly "offensive" and "obnoxious" liberal shill Julian Epstein for refusing to have a serious discussion about the current White House scandals and instead insisting on echoing Democrat talking points (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

June 08, 2013 | 14:27

This is way too funny.

On NBC’s Tonight Show Friday, the studio audience booed Jay Leno for telling an Esther Williams joke. The host marvelously responded, “I don’t care – I’m leaving soon.”

KosKooks Zap-pa Reagan's Berlin Wall Legacy

Tom Johnson
June 08, 2013 | 06:26

Earlier this week, a blogger argued that inspiring words from a famous Californian had much to do with the eventual dismantling of the Berlin Wall. Since the blogger was writing for Daily Kos, however, it's unsurprising that the Golden Stater he had in mind was not Ronald Reagan, but rather musician-composer Frank Zappa.

The Kossack who goes by "toncuz" devoted most of his piece to trashing Reagan's presidency, claiming that Reagan turned America over to "corporate fascists" and further griping that conservatives have "completely 'white-washed' [Reagan's] legacy" to such an extent that they've "completely bamboozled so-called progressive journalists and so-called historians...Progressives must stop coddling Reagan as the 'better' Republican just because so many of today’s Republicans truly sound like escaped mental patients. Reagan was no better."  Then, towards the end of the post, "toncuz" declares:

Rand Paul: Obama Administration Needs ‘Remedial Education’ on the Constitution

Noel Sheppard
June 07, 2013 | 11:15

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) had some harsh words Thursday for the Obama administration collecting phone records of millions of Americans.

Speaking with Yahoo! News, Paul said, “I think it would be remedial education for those who are doing this. They need to go back and read the Constitution, read the Fourth Amendment, and understand that our records are private.”

Trashy and Trendy: ABC’s Take on Families

Katie Yoder
June 06, 2013 | 13:00

Modern, new, different: this is ABC’s way of rebranding the traditional American family with mistresses, lesbians, and even surrogate mothers.

Just this week, two ABC shows, “Mistresses” and “The Fosters,” premiered by parading the glamour of cheating and the normality of a lesbian couple raising – wait for it – both a kid from previous heterosexual marriage plus adopted and foster children.

MSNBC's Bashir Selectively Edits 1981 Reagan Aide Remarks to Make Republicans Look Racist

Noel Sheppard
June 06, 2013 | 11:02

NewsBusters reported Wednesday that MSNBC's Martin Bashir disgracefully accused Republicans of using the acronym "IRS" as the latest racist dog whistle in their "war against the black man in the White House."

It turns out that Bashir used a selectively edited quote of former Reagan aide Lee Atwater to make his pathetic case.

Obama's 'Development' Agency Funding 'Gay Rights' Leftists in Latin America

Tim Graham
June 06, 2013 | 08:39

The Agency for International Development was created to provide “economic, development and humanitarian assistance around the world in support of the foreign policy goals of the United States.” Under the Obama administration, that means spreading “gay rights” activism with our tax dollars. Now that's really separating church and state.

The gay Washington Blade newspaper carried the front-page headline "U.S. Promoting LGBT Rights Abroad." Reporter Michael Lavers touted “The first training as part of a USAID-backed public-private partnership designed to promote LGBT rights around the world” would happen in Colombia May 30 to June 2.

TIME Business Writer Attacks Superman Movie for... Product Placement?!

Ken Shepherd
June 04, 2013 | 18:09

It's one thing, perhaps, for a major movie critic to grouse about product placement in a major motion picture and deem such an action a "sell out." But when a business writer does so, it kind of makes you scratch your head.

Take TIME magazine's Brad Tuttle, whose beat his profile describes as covering "personal finance, travel and parenting, among other topics." In a June 4 piece headlined "Superman the Sell-Out? 'Man of Steel' Has Over 100 Promotional Partners," Tuttle groused about the various promotional tie-ins to the summer blockbuster:

On NPR, 'Conservative' Woman Slams 'Insane' 'Anti-American' 'Bigots' Opposing Amnesty

Tim Graham
June 04, 2013 | 11:26

Here's another example of "Republican strategists" sounding like liberals in the national media. Last Thursday, NPR's Diane Rehm Show had a panel of Republicans to discuss what NPR likes to think is the terrible future of the GOP.  Michelle Bernard unleashed harsh attacks several times on conservatives who oppose the DREAM Act and the Gang of Eight amnesty plan.

Her "bottom line" was "You have to look at policy. You have to look at the principles that the country allegedly stands for. And we are at a crossroads. We have to decide. Do we want to stand for a country that believes in freedom for all, or are we going to be bigots?" Opposing the Left on these bills is "un-American" or "anti-American," she said repeatedly:

On NBC, RINO Strategist Insults 'Lean Back With a Mint Julep' Moms Who Stay Home

Tim Graham
June 04, 2013 | 08:11

Ana Navarro is a "moderate" Republican strategist that liberal journalists like, one who calls the social conservatives "GEICO cavemen."

So it wasn't completely surprising when she gaffed on Sunday's Meet the Press, suggesting that while working moms "lean in" to work, stay-at-home moms "lean back...on a rocking chair with a mint julep." She then added that they are "kept women," which is usually defined as a mistress!

‘Dilbert’ Features Paul Krugman Character

Matthew Sheffield
June 03, 2013 | 18:24

Making it in the pages of the wildly popular business comic “Dilbert” is either a sign you have arrived or it is a sign that you are as transparently ridiculous as a pointy-haired boss.

In the case of wild-eyed New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, the latter is clearly what’s happened.
