In a story which I can attest is accurate, Gina Loudon at WND.com, formerly WorldNetDaily, reports that the Air Force's 624th Operations Center is warning airmen not to look at the news.

That's not exactly what they're saying, but they might as well be. What the "Notice to Airmen" says is that "Users are not to use AF NIPRNET systems to access the Verizon phone records collection and other related news stories because the action could constitute a Classified Message Incident." It's currently pretty hard to go to a news site without seeing a blurb on a "related story," given how many "related stories" there are which go way beyond Verizon to nine tech companies, 50 other companies, Edward Snowden, White House, congressional and bureaucrats' responses, etc. The Air Force's claim that reading a news story or even looking at documents which have been made public is a "Classified Message Incident" is pretty shaky, based on the definition provided in a two-year old memo I located. That definition, and a grab of the censorious memo, follow the jump.

We're beginning to learn a lot more about National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden.

For instance, it was discovered Monday that Snowden supported Ron Paul for president last year.

Fox News host Neil Cavuto on Saturday cut the mic of the incredibly "offensive" and "obnoxious" liberal shill Julian Epstein for refusing to have a serious discussion about the current White House scandals and instead insisting on echoing Democrat talking points (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Earlier this week, a blogger argued that inspiring words from a famous Californian had much to do with the eventual dismantling of the Berlin Wall. Since the blogger was writing for Daily Kos, however, it's unsurprising that the Golden Stater he had in mind was not Ronald Reagan, but rather musician-composer Frank Zappa. 

The Kossack who goes by "toncuz" devoted most of his piece to trashing Reagan's presidency, claiming that Reagan turned America over to "corporate fascists" and further griping that conservatives have "completely 'white-washed' [Reagan's] legacy" to such an extent that they've "completely bamboozled so-called progressive journalists and so-called historians...Progressives must stop coddling Reagan as the 'better' Republican just because so many of today’s Republicans truly sound like escaped mental patients. Reagan was no better."  Then, towards the end of the post, "toncuz" declares:

Just this week, two ABC shows, “Mistresses” and “The Fosters,” premiered by parading the glamour of cheating and the normality of a lesbian couple raising – wait for it – both a kid from previous heterosexual marriage plus adopted and foster children.

NewsBusters reported Wednesday that MSNBC's Martin Bashir disgracefully accused Republicans of using the acronym "IRS" as the latest racist dog whistle in their "war against the black man in the White House."

It turns out that Bashir used a selectively edited quote of former Reagan aide Lee Atwater to make his pathetic case.

It's one thing, perhaps, for a major movie critic to grouse about product placement in a major motion picture and deem such an action a "sell out." But when a business writer does so, it kind of makes you scratch your head.

Take TIME magazine's Brad Tuttle, whose beat his profile describes as covering "personal finance, travel and parenting, among other topics." In a June 4 piece headlined "Superman the Sell-Out? 'Man of Steel' Has Over 100 Promotional Partners," Tuttle groused about the various promotional tie-ins to the summer blockbuster:

Ana Navarro is a "moderate" Republican strategist that liberal journalists like, one who calls the social conservatives "GEICO cavemen."

So it wasn't completely surprising when she gaffed on Sunday's Meet the Press, suggesting that while working moms "lean in" to work, stay-at-home moms "lean back...on a rocking chair with a mint julep." She then added that they are "kept women," which is usually defined as a mistress!
