Thi is so true. So many people think that pot is the cure-all today. It's no more than a superstition that those of old would call you a witch for if you said anything to the contrary. "Well pot helped cure my cancer!" "Pot helped me get over my fear of purple!" "Pot helped me to be cool!" .... "Pot didn't help you do any of these" "You must be a witch! You must be of Satan to say that!" People get demonized if they say they're anti-pot. Medicinal purposes, now that's a different story but to legalize pot for recreational use, we might as well legalize meth and lsd and all the other drugs. I'll tell you this much though, it won't bring in a dime of revenue to help the city, it'll cost it more to provide services for drug addicts, to place children in foster care because of broken homes.
Coming from a city which touted "let's bring in liquor by the drink" (mixed drinks allowed to be served at restaurants or bars) said it would bring in bussinesses and we'd have all this revenue from it! It only benefitted Applebee's and they were here before the referendum passed now they're trying to bring in packaged liquor... touting the same line, that it will bring revenue to our town.... it's a small town in the middle of nowhere... for the exception of the Bonnaroo crowd (which sorry those aren't the kind of people we want to attract) who exactly will it benefit? No one wants to come here not because of our lack of liquor but because of other issues that need to be worked on.
We need jobs not false promises of rainbows and kittens if we allow drugs. People think that it'll put the drug cartels out of bussiness. Nope. They have (contrary to popular belief) more than one service they offer. Drugs happens to be one of them, the other, human trafficking, do we then allow prostitution? Some would say yes. Let's go a step further if we allow prostitution would you allow child prostitution? No? Well what if it became a major problem like the drugs and human traficking rings? Where do people draw the line?
Pot is not a cure-all neither is cocaine, or any other drug. The problem our society faces is that we tell people their little problem can be fixed by this pill... that didn't work? Well let's try this combo and this combo till you've got people drugging themselves up to the point of no return and they can't function without something in their system. Ask yourself if this is what you want our country to be.

Actually True Conservatives welcome debate, rather than just yelling "shut up" at the people who don't agree with them.

This is stupid. True Conservatives support Prop 19. Because we are a free people. Take your demogoguery somewhere else.

You seem to be confusing Conservatives with Libertarians. The problem is, Libertarians rely on all people to govern themselves -a feat unachievable in any modern society. Maybe you'll learn this when you get to high school.
