In their third Presidential debate analysis, the Jurassic Press Media last night and thus far this morning have failed utterly in their role as fact checker and record-corrector - at least when it comes to what President Barack Obama had to say. 

As but one glaring example, there were the President’s absurd assertions regarding the auto bailout and China.

Managers at radio stations that carry Ed Schultz's radio show were surely rethinking the rationale for that after his rage-filled and bizarre remarks on Friday, clear evidence of desperation on the left at the specter of Mitt Romney defeating President Obama (audio clips after page break).

Liberal radio host Bill Press wants it both ways.

He's "blown away and upset" that Gallup's daily tracking poll yesterday showed Mitt Romney ahead of President Obama by seven points. Press also wants everyone to know that the poll is meaningless. (audio clip after page break)

Julie Rovner, NPR's resident ObamaCare flack, failed to include any conservatives experts for her report on Medicare on Tuesday's All Things Considered . Rovner played two sound bites each from Drew Altman of the Kaiser Family Foundation and from MIT's Jonathan Gruber, whom the Washington Post named the Democratic Party's "most influential health-care expert." She didn't mention either individual's liberal affiliations.

The closest that the correspondent got to mentioning their left-of-center politics is when she pointed out how Gruber "likes the way the Affordable Care Act takes on Medicare with a variety of approaches."

The vice presidential debate isn't the only place you've seen that bizarre mix of jocular bellicosity displayed by Joe Biden. It's on MSNBC every weeknight in the form of  "The Ed Show."

Not surprisingly, its host Ed Schultz is taking credit for Biden conducting himself in a manner all the more unsettling when one considers that Biden is a heartbeat from the nuclear launch codes. (audio clips after page break)

One of the most dreadful sayings in Republican-bashing politics is the idea that blacks voting for the Republicans "is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders." I still remember former Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts telling that story, that his father would say that. Republicans aren't for boiling humans in oil.

Bill Press broke out a new version of this smear on Monday's show on Current TV and talk radio about gays voting for Mitt Romney:

And they wonder why we sometimes question whether they love America.

On his liberal radio show yesterday, Bill Press was disparaging Christians as hypocrites when he expanded his criticism to Americans as a whole (audio) --

Conservative message boards are buzzing about a CBS Radio newscast on Friday in which CBS reporter Dan Raviv expresses relief that the Obama administration can look to the Muslim nations and suggest it can crack down on free speech. After the anchor noted the maker of the controversial "Innocence of Muslims" trailer Nakoula Basseley Nakoula is still in jail for a probation violation, Raviv said, "Now at least federal authorities might be able to punish the filmmaker."

Is this the way CBS News reveres freedom of speech? Is Raviv unaware that he sounds like he supports punishing those who speak ill of Muhammad? (The MP3 is here. Transcript below)

Rush Limbaugh brought up an important matter relating to polling Friday, which even beyond what is already known about party affiliation from Rasmussen and Gallup, further supports the notion that performing presidential preference polls based on 2008 presidential turnout is fundamentally flawed.

Read it below, because you can virtually bet what's left of the value of your home that you won't see this item mentioned anywhere in the establishment press, even though its ultimate source is a liberal group:

Libtalker Ed Schultz and The Nation magazine's John Nichols could soon be receiving a flood of offers to buy swampland in Florida. Perhaps by then they will each be a bit more skeptical.

Dick Cheney says something, Ed Schultz bloviates something else barely resembling it.

Rev. Al Sharpton became infamous as someone whose hot racial rhetoric caused riots and violence, not calmed them down. But on his radio show Keepin' It Real on Thursday, Sharpton accused Mitt Romney of cynically and opportunistically speaking out a bad time. (Takes one to know one?)

"We have a situation now that is ugly in the Middle East. You have a dead U.S. Ambassador, three others that are dead. You have a clearly anti-Islamic film that is all over the Islamic world that again depicts this country as anti-Islam. You have protests in Egypt as well as Yemen now and an investigation going on in Libya," Sharpton said. "Is this a time for American political figures to be taking shots at each other and playing politics?"

Bill Press was the very model of a modern talk-show partisan on Friday. He loved the Democratic convention: "What a contrast with Tampa, right? This is a convention that told the truth and Tampa was the convention that just told nothing but lies, lies, lies, lies. There were no lies here. Joe Biden told the truth Barack Obama told the truth Bill Clinton told the truth."

Press also welcomed in black talk show host and political strategist Richard Fowler and adored his put-down of the Republicans in Tampa as "pale,male, and stale." Press apparently doesn't think he could be described with any of these disparaging words:

Corporate CEOs, consider yourself warned -- even if you don't accept government bailouts, leftists in media will revise history and claim you did.

Among the most pernicious practitioners of this is MSNBC loose cannon Ed Schultz, who also hosts a weekday radio show. (audio clip after page break)

This wasn't at all what Ed Schultz was expecting.

On his radio show Aug. 30, Schultz asked listeners who live near the closed GM plant in Janesville, Wisc., to act as "fact checkers" and challenge claims made by Paul Ryan in his GOP convention speech about then-candidate Obama's visit to the plant in early 2008. (audio clips after page break)

I really can't do much with this one beyond relaying the absurd particulars involved in PolitiFact's incredible conclusion that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker made a statement which was only "Half True" about unemployment in the various states in his speech last week at the Republican National Convention.

On August 17, the government's Bureau of Labor Statistics opened its monthly Regional and State Employment and Unemployment report as follows: "Regional and state unemployment rates were generally little changed or slightly higher in July. Forty-four states recorded unemployment rate increases, two states and the District of Columbia posted rate decreases, and four states had no change ..." The Associated Press's opening sentence in its coverage of the report's contents was: "Unemployment rates rose in 44 U.S. states in July, the most states to show a monthly increase in more than three years and a reflection of weak hiring nationwide." Here he is introducing former Obama press flack and campaign advisor Robert Gibbs on his radio show yesterday in a way that seemed to catch Gibbs off guard, but understandably so when you hear what Schultz said (audio) --

As easy as it might be to forget them in the cobwebs of the AM radio dial, the liberal pretenders to the Rush Limbaugh throne are still broadcasting, and they're often utterly, shamelessly ridiculous. Case in point: Even Al Sharpton lamely used his radio show to defend Joe Biden's anti-Republican "they want to put y'all in chains" race baiting in front of a black audience.

Another case in point: Liberal radio hosts adore Harry Reid for making utterly unsubstantiated ugly charges that Mitt Romney evaded taxes for a decade. Bill Press has routinely declared his love for the tactic — even on CNN, where someone might have noticed. On "Reliable Sources," Press taunted the journalists who might want to play by the rules of evidence.

Illegal immigrants get little in the way of welfare or other taxpayer-funded largesse, according to Kirsten Powers. And she's adamant about it.

The liberal columnist and Fox News contributor appeared on Geraldo Rivera's KABC radio show out of Los Angeles yesterday, at the same time Rivera invited GOP strategist George Ajjan. (audio clips after page break)

Predictably, left-wing radio talker Mike Malloy blames the Family Research Council for being targeted by a pro-gay rights activist who allegedly opened fire at their headquarters and wounded a security guard.

What is surprising about Malloy's rant, even to those of us familiar with this most vampiric of radio hosts, is its jaw-dropped toxicity -- an American version of Radio Rwanda, circa 1994. (Audio clip after page break) --

For a hot minute, it looked like Joe Biden might have lost Al Sharpton. And just as quickly, Sharpton returned to the fold.

Biden has another possible entry to Bartlett's Familiar Quotations, along with his open-mic boast to President Obama in 2010 that passage of Obamacare was "a big f***ing deal." (audio clip after page break)

"Democrats" are struggling to defend Obamacare's $700 billion-plus cuts to Medicare, according to Ed Schultz. But given the timing of his complaint, it was obvious Schultz was including MSNBC colleague Rachel Maddow in the mix.

Here's what Schultz said on his radio show Monday, one day after Maddow's shellacking by National Review editor Rich Lowry on "Meet the Press." NewsBuster Noel Sheppard quickly posted on the exchange and it went viral from there (audio) --

The name James Holm -- not to be confused with accused Aurora gunman James Holmes -- might ring a bell for NewsBusters readers.
