BuzzFeed's Ben Smith, formerly of the liberal website Politico, joined in with his own praise of the far-left organization in a Tweet six minutes later: "Those protesters did great advance work."

Senator Barbara Boxer is showing how far she will go in her endeavor to do something, anything in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre.

Appearing on Ed Schultz's radio show yesterday, Boxer says she is filing legislation that would allow governors to activate up to 4,000 National Guard soldiers nationwide to provide security at schools. (audio after page break)

What a shock it's not -- liberal radio host Thom Hartmann responding to last week's unspeakable atrocity in Newtown by demanding redistribution of wealth.

That the rampage occurred in a leafy bedroom community in one of the most affluent states in the country has apparently eluded Hartmann, as has the fact that Connecticut is among the states with the most stringent gun laws. (audio clip after page break)

Remember how liberals feigned reverence for the Constitution during its alleged wholesale destruction while George W. Bush was president? With a Democrat ensconsed in the White House, they are reverting to old habits when it comes to the blueprint for our republic.

On his radio show Friday, Schultz argued with a caller who said he usually agrees with Schultz, citing "socialized medicine" and higher taxes as examples of common ground they share. But the Second Amendment must be protected, the caller said, lest changes to it erode other freedoms enumerated in the Bill of Rights (audio) --

Sometimes the obvious stops being elusive even to a liberal.

For most of the young millennium, use of the term "Bush tax cuts" by anyone left of center has more often than not been accompanied by the words "for the rich." The pair have been joined at the hip so often that a Google search for them yields more than 5 million hits. (audio clips after page break)

In their reverence for all matters governmental, more liberals should know the difference between conservatives and anarchists.

Instead, it's the left winger's most hackneyed conceit -- that because Republicans see immense and wasteful government as undesirable, they are intent on wrecking instead of reforming it. You could see this one coming and hardly a surprise that it came from Ed Schultz.

On his radio show yesterday, Schultz was talking with a caller about Kansas City Chiefs' linebacker Jovan Belcher killing his girlfriend and committing suicide over the weekend when Schultz made a predictable suggestion (audio) --

The Jurassic Press media is enraptured with a certain story.

On his November 26 program, left-wing radio host Mike Malloy, whose sick rants we here at NewsBusters have noted from time to time, fantasized about how he wished there were an angel of death that would sweep down across the fruited plain and destroy "tea baggers," but which he meant Tea Party conservatives.

Left-wing radio host Mike Malloy keeps reaching for new lows in depraved discourse.

Those familiar with Malloy from his numerous appearances at NewsBusters over the years are aware of his pathological obsession with violence, especially toward those who don't share his totalitarian politics. (h/t for audio, Brian Maloney at mrctv.org).

Don't be surprised if you hear less from John Stanton out of left-wing media in the foreseeable future.

Why? Stanton's penchant for speaking candidly, as he did yesterday on Bill Press's radio show about embattled former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.'s resignation from Congress only weeks after winning re-election. (video after page break)

MRC president Brent Bozell ripped The New York Times and the Washington Post in his November 17 column for their positive reviews of Colm Toibin's short novel "The Testament of Mary," which distorts the biblical Virgin Mary into an angry woman bitter at her son Jesus' crucifixion and filled with contempt for His followers. But these left-leaning rags weren't the only media outlets boosting Toibin's iconoclastic re-purposing of the Mother of God.

NPR boosted the Irish writer in an interview on the November 13 episode of Morning Edition. Correspondent Lynn Neary could have been mistaken for a publicist for Toibin as she unquestioningly forwarded his talking points on the book. Neary acknowledged that Toibin's warped version of Mary is a "controversial figure," but barely touched on how Christians - especially Catholics and Orthodox Christians - might be offended by his novel.

In an interview with Jordan Zakarin at The Hollywood Reporter, liberal public-radio star Ira Glass – whose weekend show This American Life airs on more than 500 public radio stations – admitted the obvious: they don’t need the federal money to survive.

As they discussed the “silly Killing Big Bird thing,” Glass insisted “just a tiny, tiny portion of public radio’s money comes from the federal government. And when the Republicans say that public radio would survive without that money, the truth is, they’re right, it would survive.” But he wishes Mitt Romney had singled out his show in the first presidential debate:

Any volunteers willing to help this woman out? Anyone ....?

Liberal radio host Randi Rhodes cut loose this week with some pre-Thanksgiving venting about the vast ignorance of Republicans extending to condoms (audio clips after page break; h/t for audio, Brian Maloney at mrctv.org) --

Translation: Israel is no better than Hamas in the eyes of Geraldo Rivera, though Rivera can't bring himself to acknowledge this.

Instead, the veteran squishy conservative tries to come across as even-handed in his criticism of Israel and Hamas during their most recent flaring of hostilities, though it doesn't take long for Rivera's sympathies to surface. (audio clip after page break)

It's rare that we take on liberal newspaper columnists. They're entitled to their opinions and no one expects them to adhere to a standard of objectivity. But on those occasions when a columnist transgresses the bounds of decency, we have to take note.

The Miami Herald's Leonard Pitts Jr. is one such opinion writer. In his November 17 column he argued some of the blame for a suicide in Key West, Florida, should be laid at the doorstep of conservative talk show hosts:

Four more years? Heck, make it four more millennia as far as Ed Schultz is concerned.

The liberal radio host and MSNBC action hero could barely contain his reverence for President Obama yesterday, using language even thoroughly smitten cable colleague Chris Matthews might avoid. (audio clip after page break)

Last Friday, in his first post-election remarks on PBS and NPR, New York Times columnist David Brooks downplayed his usual bash- conservatives  narrative, and actually castigated liberals for wanting to go over the looming fiscal cliff.  He said that liberals are more organized, they’ve won the election, and will get most of what they yearn for if we do go over the waterfall: increased revenue, tax hikes, and cuts to defense spending.   

Strangely, his liberal colleagues, Mark Shields on PBS and E.J. Dionne on NPR, seemed to agree with this claim – undercutting the notion that this "cliff" is dangerous to both parties.

This is a man whose ego has become so inflated, he needs crowbars to get his head through doorways.

On his radio show yesterday, Ed Schultz paused from his repeated spiking of the football in response to the election to make an unintentionally revealing remark about MSNBC, where he hosts a primetime cable show on weeknights (audio) --

Ever notice how liberals never seem to have a problem with genuine evil and instead use the word to describe those who don't share their rarefied opinions?

Libtalker Bill Press provided an example of this on his radio show yesterday, venting about the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, Sheldon Adelson and Foster Friess for their alleged nefarious plans to seize control of the country through its politics (video after page break) --

A video of a mother trying to console her crying four year-old daughter about the fact that the election campaign season will soon be over has allegedly gone viral. I say "allegedly" because the original of the video involved shows ove 700,000 hits at its YouTube results listing, but only about 19,000 at the original video itself.

Anyway, the four-year old is Abigael Evans, and her reaction was to hearing yet another NPR report on the election in the car while riding with her mother Elizabeth. ABC's Jilian Fama has covered the story. A revealing statement from Abigael's mother appears to demonstrate how blatantly biased NPR's coverage of the presidential election campaign has been:

Liberal radio host Bill Press counts himself among bedwetting left wingers who are claiming Mitt Romney wants to eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

All this claim demonstrates is that those making it sense disaster on the horizon -- specifically, Election Day -- and that they can't distinguish between moderate-since-birth Romney and unapologetic libertarian Ron Paul who actually would abolish FEMA. (audio clip after page break)

When conservative tax dollars support public radio stations across America, what kind of programming gets aired? One radical show is “Smiley and West,” which is distributed by Public Radio International. This weekend, PBS star Tavis Smiley was too busy, so they replaced him with Julianne Malveaux – the loud-mouthed wacko who infamously announced on the PBS show To The Contrary that someone should feed Clarence Thomas a lot of cholestrol so he dies young.

So much for civility. It was a freaky show, with Malveaux not only emitting the usual charge that the polls are only close because of racism against Obama, but that white women have “battered women syndrome” if they’re picking Romney. A guest added Romney-Ryan was a “white supremacist ticket.”

My condolences, Ed. I know how much you wanted to believe this was true -- how much you needed to believe it's true.

Not only that, you claimed on your radio show that it was accurate, and more than once, only to learn -- from a political ally! -- that it wasn't. Such are the seldom-felt joys of slogging through left-wing media. (audio clips after page break)
