An Inconvenient Truth

Correction: Judge Finds Only Nine Convenient Untruths in Gore's Film

By Noel Sheppard | October 11, 2007 | 12:23

A  A

NewsBusters reported Tuesday that a British court rendered an opinion concerning Al Gore's schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth" citing eleven inaccuracies in the supposedly factual presaging of imminent planetary doom.

As it turns out, the judge, Michael Burton, announced his ruling Wednesday, and he listed only nine key scientific errors in this piece of detritus that should never have been allowed by the Motion Picture Association of America or the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to be marketed as a documentary.

According to the British Telegraph, Burton claimed these "errors had arisen ‘in the context of alarmism and exaggeration' in order to support Mr Gore's thesis on global warming."

Pretty much what climate change skeptics around the world have been claiming since this abomination was first released in 2006, wouldn't you agree?

Here were the nine pertinent errors reported by the Telegraph Thursday:

Climate Project Brings Gore’s Global Warming Slideshow to a Senior Center Near You

By Noel Sheppard | October 09, 2007 | 13:48

A  A

Have you heard about The Climate Project?

This is an organization founded by soon-to-be-Nobel Laureate Al Gore designed to train mindless automatons the Global Warmingist-in-Chief’s factually flawed slideshow so that they can travel around the world inciting hysteria about manmade global warming.

And, of course, make Al Gore more money!

Maybe most deplorable, their lectures are given at community centers, senior facilities, coffee houses, and other places members of the public go to meet, greet, and eat.

Would you like a schmear of propaganda with your bagel this morning, Mrs. Silverman?

With that disturbing visual adroitly planted, this is TCP’s defined mission (emphasis added for your enhanced reading displeasure):

Court Identifies Eleven Inaccuracies in Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth’

By Noel Sheppard | October 09, 2007 | 00:55

A  A

Here's something American media are virtually guaranteed to not report: a British court has determined that Al Gore's schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth" contains at least eleven material falsehoods.

It seems a safe bet Matt Lauer and Diane Sawyer won't be discussing this Tuesday morning, wouldn't you agree?

For those that haven't been following this case, a British truck driver filed a lawsuit to prevent the airing of Gore's alarmist detritus in England's public schools.

According to the website of the political party the plaintiff, Stewart Dimmock, belongs to (ecstatic emphasis added throughout, h/t Marc Morano):

CNN Feels More Heat from Global Warming Report

By Dan Gainor | October 05, 2007 | 09:18

A  A

How dare CNN Meteorologist Rob Marciano say Al Gore was wrong in his movie "An Inconvenient Truth?" Apparently, his comments from yesterday that "There are definitely some inaccuracies" in the film generated a lot of controversy and e-mails for the network.

Today was Round Two. And Marciano excelled by showing both sides of a debate Gore says doesn't exist and by pointing out even more of what Gore got wrong. First the wrong: "He does talk about tornados, implying that there's an increase in tornados from global warming, that's not necessarily true," said Marciano.

Then Marciano interviewed two climate experts from opposite sides of the battle, including "science and operations officer of the National Hurricane Center, a big time researcher named Chris Landsea." Landsea explained the limits of the Gorean hype machine. Read on for details and full transcript.

British Truck Driver Sues to Ban Al Gore’s Film from Schools

By Noel Sheppard | September 20, 2007 | 10:06

A  A

There's a marvelous law in Great Britain prohibiting the "promotion of partisan political views in the teaching of any subject in the school" that is about to be tested by a lorry driver trying to prevent Al Gore's schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth" from being forced on English children.

Why hasn't someone in America done the same thing?

While you ponder, it was reported in Thursday's Telegraph (emphasis added throughout, h/t Marc Morano):

Sequel to Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth' Announced: 'The Path to Survival'

By Lynn Davidson | September 06, 2007 | 23:39

A  A

You knew it was coming. It was only a matter of time. Al Gore is working on a sequel to his 2006 eco-ganda film "An Inconvenient Truth," which will be called "The Path to Survival" and released on April 22, 2008, otherwise known as Earth Day.

Global warming “deniers” may begin thinking of it as “An Inconvenient Truth 2: Non-Electric Boogaloo.”

Global Warming Media Disaster: DiCaprio’s ‘11th Hour’ Bombs at Box Office

By Noel Sheppard | September 05, 2007 | 13:21

A  A

More evidence that Al Gore's Live Earth flop was indeed the beginning of the end to the public's fascination with global warming: Leonardo DiCaprio's recently released film on the subject has bombed with moviegoers.

As reported by Fox News's Roger Friedman Wednesday (emphasis added throughout):

His environmental documentary, "The 11th Hour," has been a total bust at the box office. After 18 days in release, the film has grossed only $417,913 from ticket sales.

Gore Movie Contains ‘One of the Single Stupidest Statements Ever Put on Film’

By Noel Sheppard | August 16, 2007 | 17:42

Though Austin Chronicle writer Robert Bryce is likely not a household name, his column published in Thursday's Energy Tribune is a must-read for all anthropogenic global warming skeptics.

In "Al Gore's Zero Emissions Makes Zero Sense," Bryce not only skewered the Global Warmingist in Chief's schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth," but he also deliciously mocked all the sycophant devotees of the former vice president that have failed to recognize the obvious as they tour the country professing imminent planetary doom at the hands of a naturally occurring gas that happens to be a necessity to all forms of life.

With that in mind, Bryce marvelously began with one of the world's greatest truisms (emphasis added throughout):

Are Gore and Newsweek’s Climate Change ‘Deniers’ Accusations Coordinated?

By Noel Sheppard | August 08, 2007 | 11:11

A  A

As NewsBusters reported Sunday, Newsweek's current issue featured a cover story blasting anthropogenic global warming skeptics as "deniers," and pointing fingers at companies like ExxonMobil as participating in a coordinated misinformation campaign akin to the tobacco industry misleading citizens about the dangers of cigarette smoking.

Shortly after this new issue hit the stands, Al Gore told a forum in Singapore, "the deniers offered a bounty of $10,000 for each article disputing the consensus that people could crank out and get published somewhere."

This raises an interesting question: Is this a coordinated attack designed to incite anger in citizens that polls show are not as upset about this issue as the left and their media minions?

More Al Gore Hypocrisy: ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ Wasn’t Carbon Neutral

By Noel Sheppard | July 23, 2007 | 13:43

A  A

At some point in time, it seems logical that the name of the Democrat Party must be changed to the Do As I Say, Not As I Do Party.

In another fine example of such hypocrisy, it appears that despite claims by Al Gore that all of the CO2 emitted into the air as a result of the production of his schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth" were offset with carbon credits, nothing can be further from the truth.

Global Warming 'Caused by Baby Boomers as They Go Through Menopause'

By Noel Sheppard | July 17, 2007 | 19:59

Is global warming caused by greenhouse gases or ozone depletion? A comedian who simply calls himself Chick doesn’t think so.

In fact, Chick has created a video that offers his own side-splitting take on this controversial subject that is sure to thrill conservatives while angering liberals.

Obviously, the latter is just a scrumptious ancillary benefit.

That said, readers should be warned that the content, though clearly satirical, might be perceived as a bit sexist, albeit for those that are either members of the ACLU, or thoroughly devoid of a sense of humor, assuming there’s a difference (video available here).

For those interested in a little background on Chick, his MySpace states:

Hysterical Satire: 'Global Warming Now World's Most Boring Topic’

By Noel Sheppard | July 17, 2007 | 17:42

A  A

In the wake of the dismal failure of Al Gore’s Live Earth concerts, an Australian journalist has written a deliciously satirical look at anthropogenic global warming.

Published at Australia’s The Age Wednesday, Jim Schembri’s “Global Warming Now World’s Most Boring Topic: Report” offered readers a much-needed chuckle about this issue by presenting results of a study, “conducted by a non-partisan think tank located somewhere between the small township of Tibooburra and the NSW border,” with some truly hysterical conclusions.

Schembri set the joke up wonderfully (emphasis added throughout, h/t NBer Sick-n-Tired):

Leonardo DiCaprio Introduces ‘The 11th Hour,' AKA ‘An Inconvenient Truth, Part II’

By Noel Sheppard | July 13, 2007 | 15:12

Given the dismal failure of Al Gore’s Live Earth concerts, now seems hardly the time to be releasing “An Inconvenient Truth, Part II.”

Yet, on August 17, Leonardo DiCaprio’s documentary about how man is destroying the planet, “The 11th Hour,” premieres to a society that seems to be losing interest in global warming alarmism.

How delicious.

The seemingly over-worked premise is described thusly (trailer available here, h/t NBer Sick-n-Tired):

Did Live Earth’s Flop Reduce Media Interest in Global Warming?

By Noel Sheppard | July 12, 2007 | 14:59

A  A

A funny thing happened a few days after Al Gore’s concerts to draw attention to global warming concluded: a significant study out of England stating that changes in the sun’s output are not responsible for climate change went almost thoroughly ignored by America’s media.

A report by the BBC on Tuesday, which demonstrably challenged one of the key arguments made by anthropogenic global warming skeptics, would normally have been greeted with great enthusiasm by press representatives in the States always looking to highlight stories supporting their green agenda.

Yet, of the major American news organizations, only Bloomberg gave this new study any attention:

Media Help Keep Power Supply Switched Off

By Julia A. Seymour | July 11, 2007 | 17:02

Sweltering heat is sweeping the nation, ushering in fears that the “slammed” power grid won’t be able to meet the demands of consumers desperate to keep cool.

But as much as journalists are now focused on that threat, they have largely ignored nationwide power issues while rabid environmentalists have battled nuclear and coal power plants.

CNN’s Jim Acosta explained on “American Morning” that energy analysts are very concerned if new power plants are not built:

“[T]he next crisis is looming unless the nation starts building new power plants within five to seven years. Energy analysts fear the return of the blackout of ’03,” said Acosta on July 9.

Is Live Earth’s Fizzle Beginning of the End of Global Warming Alarmism?

By Noel Sheppard | July 09, 2007 | 11:03

A  A

The reviews are in for Saturday’s international effort to save the planet from global warming, and the news isn’t good for folks like soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore and his band of not so merry sycophants.

From boring acts, to poor attendance, and folks actually leaving early out of sheer frustration, the concerts appear to have failed miserably.

Is this a sign that Al Gore is as poor an event planner as he is a presidential campaigner? Or, is the public’s interest in this issue dropping faster than temperatures in the southern hemisphere?

Before we get there, it is clear that folks in America and Great Britain were less than thrilled with this event as reported by Reuters Sunday (emphasis added throughout):

Greenland Ice Find Debunks Al Gore’s Global Warming Theories

By Noel Sheppard | July 07, 2007 | 10:19

A  A

Just in time for worldwide concerts to draw attention to the planet’s imminent doom at the hands of anthropogenic global warming, a new find in Greenland suggests that much of the hysteria in Al Gore’s schlockumentary “An Inconvenient Truth” has absolutely no basis in scientific fact.

Even though this study will likely get little to no attention from a media in full fawn mode over Gore and his Live Earth concerts, the findings throw a huge monkey wrench into alarmist warnings of climate-related devastation to the planet and species offered as reasons for developed nations to radically change behavior.

New Poll: 56 Percent of British Aren’t Buying Global Warming Hooey

Al Gore's Hysterical NYT Op-ed: 'Our Home -- Earth -- Is In Danger'

As I begin my much-needed vacation, I awoke this morning to frantic e-mail messages from concerned readers all including the same link to the same  New York Times op-ed submission from the Global Warmingist-in-Chief himself, soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore.

As a kayak and a beautiful lake beckon, it is impossible to really do this piece the injustice it so badly deserves.

However, needless to say, the planet's greatest climate change alarmist was truly in unfortunately not so rare form when he input this factless, feckless. feculent foolishness that sadly will be eaten up like fine caviar by his sycophant devotees across the globe.

As such, without further ado, here are a few of the lowlights (emphasis added throughout, better strap yourselves in for a bumpy ride):

More Gore Hypocrisies Exposed as Live Earth Concerts Near

By Noel Sheppard | June 30, 2007 | 20:59

As the world prepares for a deluge of Live Earth concerts featuring the Global Warmingist-in-Chief himself, more and more of his inconvenient hypocrisies are being exposed by scientists and writers across the planet.

The most recent exposé was written by a senior fellow of the Heartland Institute, James M. Taylor.

The op-ed, published Saturday by the Chicago Sun-Times, deliciously addressed the real assault on reason not covered in soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore’s most recent work of political science fiction (emphasis added throughout, h/t NBer goldenthroat):

British Newspaper Exposes Al Gore’s Inconvenient Hypocrisy

By Noel Sheppard | June 25, 2007 | 10:06

A  A

Al Gore is at it again, blaming all the world’s environmental problems on others, in particular, George W. Bush, while revising history to suggest that he did more to solve anthropogenic global warming when he was Vice President, and would have done more if elected president in 2000.

Sadly, American media choose to give him a pass for his historical revisions, allowing him to say whatever he wants with total impunity.

After all, he’s a Democrat, and America’s press adore him.

Fortunately, the British press aren’t so beholden to the Global Warmingist-in-Chief, and don’t feel the need to bow at the altar he so arrogantly deigns to put himself on.

With that in mind, the British Independent published a piece about soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore Monday which included two paragraphs you’ll never see in a mainstream paper here (emphasis added):

Ivy League Professor Bets Al Gore $10,000 He’s Wrong About Global Warming

Will the Media Report 'Dangerous Global Cooling'?

By Jake Gontesky | June 20, 2007 | 21:26

A  A
Could it possibly be that the mainstream school of thought surrounding climate change has it all wrong? While the media continues its love-fest with the alarmist non-scientists like Al Gore, climatologists and other atmospheric scientists continue research that may turn the conventional wisdom on its head. The author offers a great opening abstract of his research:
The mud at the bottom of B.C. fjords reveals that solar output drives climate change - and that we should prepare now for dangerous global cooling
Earlier this year, I examined the connections between solar variability and climate change in great detail (On Solar Variability and Global Warming). Further research into the sunspot activity and terrestrial climate change is revealing some astounding correlations, as published recently by the Financial Times: Read the Sunspots. Written by R. Timothy Patterson, the chief researcher of the project, the article starts out by summarizing the well-known and universally-accepted variability of the Earth's climate nicely:

Rockers in Rolling Stone Hail the Goracle, Trash Rise of 'Idiots' to 'Extreme Power'

By Tim Graham | June 19, 2007 | 06:26

Don’t look now, but rock musicians are calling the president an idiot again. Rolling Stone’s latest issue is completely obsessed with promoting Al Gore’s Live Earth concerts, and includes interviews with rockers predictably trashing wars for oil and hailing the Goracle. Roger Waters of Pink Floyd stood out with the Bush-bashing:

"It would help if we could divert some of our resources away from blowing each other to bits and toward think tanks. Something has gone wrong with the democratic process when you can get idiots rising to offices of extreme power, like the presidency of the United States of America. George Bush – you could not make a worse choice in someone to lead the most powerful nation in the free world."

Father of Climatology Throws Up at the Thought of Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth'

Al Gore’s Daughter Writes Global Warming Documentary

By Noel Sheppard | June 17, 2007 | 22:53

A  A

It appears that soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore isn’t only brainwashing America’s kids with global warming alarmism, for his daughter has co-written a documentary on the subject about to be released in Australia.

As reported Sunday by Variety (h/t John McLean):

Paramount Vantage is hoping auds will be as bullish on bears and walruses as they were on "March of the Penguins," although it remains to be seen if they will warm to "Arctic Tale," an expertly assembled docu with an underlying message about multiple species threatened by man's pigheaded behavior. National Geographic imprint ensures the pic will, in any case, have long, healthy life in tube and video preserves.

Washington Post Headline: ‘Could Some Win With Global Warming?’

By Noel Sheppard | June 14, 2007 | 17:20

The Associated Press on Thursday published an article that very much went counter to all the climate change alarmism so prevalent in the media since Hurricane Katrina made landfall in 2005.

Conceivably more shocking was the headline the Washington Post chose for the version published at its website: “Could Some Win With Global Warming?”

According to LexisNexis, AP’s headline on all its versions was “Global warming winners? Canada, Russia, U.S. Rust Belt might see benefit.”

Yet, the biggest surprises were in the body of the article, including a jab at the Global Warmingist-in-Chief himself, former Vice President Al Gore (emphasis added throughout):

Global Warming CO2 Curbs Could Cripple Airline Industry and Cost Thousands of Jobs

By Noel Sheppard | June 07, 2007 | 10:11

A  A

Here’s an inconvenient truth the media aren’t likely to share with citizens as they continue to spread global warming alarmism: schemes currently being debated to reduce CO2 emissions likely will destroy the airline industry while diminishing new job creation.

So suggested a Seattle Times article Wednesday (h/t Chris Horner, emphasis added):

European airlines claimed say the European Union' plan for a mandatory greenhouse-gas cap and trading system would cripple the industry with extra costs of $5.4 billion a year.

Low-cost airlines such as Ryanair joined major carriers such as British Airways and Lufthansa in saying the plan would diminish mobility, hurt the overall economy and cut off remote areas from tourist traffic, citing a report that the airlines commissioned from global accounting group Ernst & Young and air transport consultants York Aviation.

Sounds great, doesn’t it? However, the news is even worse according to an Associated Press article also published Wednesday (h/t Benny Peiser, emphasis added):

Meteorologist: ‘Al Gore’s Global Warming is the Biggest Myth of the Century’

By Noel Sheppard | June 04, 2007 | 11:45

I’m sure I’m speaking for millions of anthropogenic global warming skeptics when I say that virtually nothing brightens my day more than an article written by a climate expert exposing the Global Warmingist-in-Chief, soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore, as nothing more than a snake oil selling charlatan.

All those who agree say "Aye."

With that in mind, the sun came out brightly this morning when I received the following article in my inbox.

As published at the Muskogee Phoenix Sunday evening, a former military meteorologist named Paul Becker wrote a marvelous letter to the editor (emphasis added throughout):
