FNC's Powers: 'Transparently a Lie' When Obama Says He Called Benghazi a Terrorist Attack

By Brad Wilmouth | May 16, 2013 | 18:14

A  A

On Wednesday's The O'Reilly Factor, liberal FNC political analyst Kirsten Powers again accused President Barack Obama of speaking "lies" in claiming that he called Benghazi a terrorist attack early on. Host Bill O'Reilly introduced the segment by playing a clip of Powers from Monday's Special Report with Bret Baier. Powers, from Monday:

FNC's Krauthammer Recounts Evidence of Benghazi 'Coverup' by Obama Admin

By Brad Wilmouth | May 10, 2013 | 18:21

A  A

Appearing as a guest on Thursday's The O'Reilly Factor, right-leaning FNC political analyst Charles Krauthammer recounted that the initial State Department reports on the Benghazi attack identified it as an attack by the terrorist group Ansar al-Sharia, and theorized that the Obama administration must have covered up the initial reports of it being a terrorist attack for political reasons during the election campaign.

He also underscored the significance of State Department official Gregory Hicks apparently being demoted after criticizing the administration's story about the attack. Host Bill O'Reilly brought up Hicks:

A  A

Appearing on Wednesday's The O'Reilly Factor, left-leaning FNC political analyst Kirsten Powers criticized the behavior of Democrats in the wake of the Benghazi hearings in Congress, as she cited the testimony of official Gregory Hicks as compelling. After complaining about Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings's reaction to the testimony, she continued:

Dennis Miller Slams 'Phony,' 'Detestable' Al Gore, 'Everybody Should Shun'

By Brad Wilmouth | May 08, 2013 | 17:35

A  A

Appearing for his regular "Miller Time" segment on FNC's The O'Reilly Factor on Tuesday, comedian Dennis Miller denounced former Vice President Al Gore as a "detestable cat" and "a phony," as he recommended that "everybody should shun Al Gore" after he sold Current TV to Al-Jazeera.

After host Bill O'Reilly joked that Gore was a "personal friend' of Miller's, the comedian made a point of denying any friendship with the former Vice President as he began his response:

By Noel Sheppard | May 08, 2013 | 00:56

A  A

Have you seriously wondered why the media have largely boycotted the Benghazi story?

Dennis Miller has, and on Fox News's O'Reilly Factor Tuesday, he compellingly said, "If you’re the one who brings down Barack Obama, you will be out of the game" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Fox News Producer Confronts Celebrities at Correspondents’ Dinner About Media Bias

By Paul Bremmer | May 02, 2013 | 11:44

A  A

What better place is there, really, to corner news executives about media bias than the White House Correspondents Association Dinner? That's what Fox News producer Jesse Watters of The O'Reilly Factor had in mind when he headed out with camera and microphone to the "nerd prom" this past Saturday.

Even though there's copious amounts of adult beverages at the WHCA dinner, it seems in vino veritas doesn't hold when it comes to media executives copping to their biases. Some simply denied the obvious while others were visibly agitated at the very premise of the question. [Video below. MP3 audio here.]

O’Reilly Slams MSNBC’s Alex Wagner For Suggesting He Thinks Obama’s A ‘Secret Muslim’

By Jeffrey Meyer | April 26, 2013 | 11:39

A  A

If NBC executives refuse to condemn the extreme rhetoric spewing from the mouths of their MSNBC hosts, at least Fox News will.  Speaking on April 25, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly chastised Comcast for allowing NBC News to hire someone like Alex Wagner to host her own daytime show on MSNBC.

Appearing on April 24, Alex Wagner disgustingly commented that, “I think that Krauthammer and O’Reilly going after the president and saying he’s not being tough enough on Muslims smells a little bit like a precursor to is the president actually secretly a Muslim.”  [See video after jump.  MP3 audio here.]

MSNBC's Alex Wagner Hints O'Reilly Believes Obama's a Secret Muslim

By Jeffrey Meyer | April 24, 2013 | 15:01

A  A

Ultra-liberal MSNBC host Alex Wagner may have hit a new low on the Wednesday edition of her program, Now.  Discussing the response to the Boston bombing, Wagner absurdly hinted that Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly and Charles Krauthammer's criticism of Barack Obama are "a precursor" to saying that "the president [is] actually secretly a Muslim."

Speaking directly to Politico’s Maggie Haberman, who as of today appears to be suffering from Fort Hood amnesia, Wagner railed against Fox News and conservatives who call for more active surveillance of potential terrorists.   [See video after jump.  MP3 audio here.]

An Examination of Why Bill O'Reilly Misses the Point on Same-Sex Marriage

By Monte Kuligowski | April 08, 2013 | 18:14

During the highly publicized exchange between Bill O'Reilly and Laura Ingraham on gay marriage, O'Reilly made this statement: "There are Bible thumpers, and all they do is say, 'I object to gay marriage because God objects to it.' You don't win a policy debate in America with that."

Krauthammer: 'Everybody Knows That MSNBC Is All Opinion'

By Noel Sheppard | March 19, 2013 | 21:38

A  A

NewsBusters reported Monday that a new Pew Research Center study determined that 85 percent of MSNBC's airtime is commentary or opinion and not straight news.

Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said of this on Fox News's O'Reilly Factor Tuesday, "That study tells me that the sun rises in the East: everybody knows that MSNBC is all opinion" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

The liberal media’s love affair with the Obamas appears to have reached a new climax following the first lady's appearance via satellite on the Academy Awards on February 24.

Speaking on the O’Reilly Factor on February 25, the Washington Post’s Sally Quinn admitted that Michelle Obama’s Oscar appearance was, in Bill O’Reilly’s words, “Hollywood Left boosterism,” but gushed that it was a “brilliant idea.”   [See video after jump.  MP3 audio here.]

Bill O’Reilly Illustrates How Media Have Expanded Love for Obama to Hillary Clinton

By Brent Baker | January 26, 2013 | 16:34

“Is Hillary Clinton the new Barack Obama in the eyes of the national media?” Bill O’Reilly asked in his Friday night “Talking Points Memo,” using the same examples as highlighted in the NewsBusters post on coverage of her Wednesday Benghazi testimony: “Networks Swoon for Hillary’s ‘Indignation’ and ‘Tears,’ Champion ‘Riveting’ Testimony from ‘Political Pro.’”

By Noel Sheppard | January 23, 2013 | 23:53

Liberal George Stephanopoulos Admits: I'm a 'Long-Time Supporter of Gun Control'

By Scott Whitlock | January 23, 2013 | 13:40

A  A

Good Morning America co-anchor George Stephanopoulos appeared on Tuesday's O'Reilly Factor to openly lobby for more gun control and reflect on his previous career as a Democratic operative for Bill Clinton. O'Reilly played a clip of Tom Brokaw comparing not speaking out about guns to allowing racism to flourish in the south.

Responding to this, Stephanopoulos hedged, "It's not the analogy I would use, but I think what he was talking about there is the kind of passion that people feel right now." Later, the reporter opened up about his own liberal take on guns: "Look, I have been a long-time supporter of gun control measures that, you know, I think are in accord with the Second Amendment." Bill O’Reilly Calls Out ‘Hypocrite’ Al Gore for Trying to Evade Taxes from Current TV Sale

By Randy Hall | January 05, 2013 | 06:50

A  A

The start of the new year always ushers in new taxes that people are expected to pay rather than find ways to keep as much of their money as possible. At least, that's what liberals claim others should do.

But on Thursday, Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly charged that former vice president Al Gore is a hypocrite for attempting to sell his low-rated Current TV cable channel for an estimated $500 million before 2013 brought higher taxes that would diminish the amount of money he'd get from the sale to Al Jazeera.

James Hoffa Threatened 'Civil War' on CNN, Yet Fox News Covered It More Than CNN Did

By Matt Hadro | December 13, 2012 | 13:45

A  A

Teamsters Union president James Hoffa warned on CNN Tuesday that there would be "civil war" in Michigan over thepassage of right-to-work legislation, but after anchor Brooke Baldwin made two brief mentions of it the CNN blackout began. In contrast, on the next day Fox News hammered the "civil war" threat as an example of radical rhetoric.

How bad was CNN's blind spot to the controversy? After Hoffa warned of "civil war," Baldwin simply repeated his words back to him. "[I]n the meantime, as you wage this civil war, what does this mean for unionized workers moving forward in Michigan?" she asked, without demanding how violent the union pushback would be.

Remembering Some of Those Who Said the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt Wasn't a Threat to Democracy

By Tom Blumer | November 30, 2012 | 23:54

A  A

Reviewing several dispatches from the past couple of days, the latest news out of Egypt is that Egyptian "President" Mohammed Morsi "is not backing down in the showdown over decrees granting him near-absolute powers," that "clashes between the two camps (Morsi's Islamist supporters and secular opponents) ... left two dead and hundreds injured," and that the country's Muslim Brotherhood-dominated assembly "pushed through the 234-article draft (constitution) in just 21 hours from Thursday into Friday ... (after) Coptic Christians and liberals earlier had walked out."

The draft constitution includes several articles "that rights activists, liberals and Christians fear will lead to restrictions on the rights of women and minorities," and omits "bans on slavery or promises to adhere to international rights treaties." Oh, and I almost forgot: "The Obama administration is declining to criticize Egypt's draft constitution." It's worth identifying at this point several (but by no means all; what follows is surely a small sample) of those who in 2011 reassured the world that Egyptians had nothing to fear if the Brotherhood and Islamists became dominant.

Appearing as a guest on Wednesday's The O'Reilly Factor for his regular "Miller Time" segment, comedian Dennis Miller dubbed Sandra Fluke as "Moan of Arc" as he lamented that the liberal activist is "perfectly emblematic of modern women," and that she would be a "perfect Time magazine 'Person of the Year' as he noted that a majority of single women voted to reelect President Barack Obama.

Host Bill O'Reilly brought up the topic of Fluke as he asked the right-leaning comedian about the rumors that she may be chosen as Time's "Person of the Year," leading Miller to respond:

Ex-AccuWeather's Bastardi Slams Gore's 'Stunningly Ignorant' Statement on Hurricanes

Appearing as a guest on FNC's The O'Reilly Factor, meteorologist Joe Bastardi of Weatherbell Analytics -- and formerly of AccuWeather -- debunked a recent statement by Al Gore linking Hurricane Sandy to global warming. Bastardi asserted that the former Vice President's statement is either "stunningly ignorant or stunningly deceptive," and argued that hurricane seasons go through cyclical changes that stretch over decades.

Beckel: Network Anchors Overwhelmingly Democrat, But 'Doesn't Make Difference At All'

By Mark Finkelstein | October 24, 2012 | 21:10

A  A

Player, please . . . Does liberal pundit Bob Beckel care about his credibility?  Apparently not. Beckel has admitted that the pool of network anchors is "overwhelmingly Democrat," but somehow argues that "it doesn't make a difference at all."  Riiight.

Beckel appeared on this evening's O'Reilly Factor after host Bill had documented chapter and verse that every leading network anchor with the possible exception of Scott Pelley is a confirmed liberal or Democrat.  But Beckel refused to admit the undeniable--that this affects the nature of their coverage.  "I don't think it matters.  I don't think it sends the news one way or another." This despite also admitting that if the tables were turned and virtually all the anchors were Republican, he'd be complaining about it "all the time." View the video after the jump.

O’Reilly To Megyn Kelly: ‘The Lowest You Can Go Is To Have Your Hair Mocked By Chris Matthews’

FNC's The O'Reilly Factor Spotlights Media's Lack of Interest in FRC Shooting

By NB Staff | August 18, 2012 | 11:54

A  A

MRC Research Director and NewsBusters senior editor Rich Noyes appeared on FNC's The O'Reilly Factor Friday night to talk about the so-called "mainstream" media's lack of interest in news that a volunteer at D.C.-based gay group walked into the Family Research Council's offices and opened fire, wounding a security guard.

Guest host Juan Williams branded the lack of coverage "outrageous." Noyes described how if the reverse had happened -- a Christian conservative volunteer invading a liberal headquarters with 50 rounds of ammo -- the same networks that barely touched the FRC shooting would undoubtedly have provided far more intensive coverage.

Goldberg Tells MSNBC's Mitchell to Leave Georgetown Bubble, O'Reilly Wants Ted Koppel Out of 'Semi-Retirement'

By Matt Vespa | August 14, 2012 | 18:02

On The August 13 broadcast of the O'Reilly Factor, Bill had regular guest Bernie Goldberg discuss Andrea Mitchell's absurd comment that Paul Ryan isn't a pick for "suburban moms."  This came after Ryan claimed that rights come from God, not government, but Mitchell seemed to think these two unrelated points, when combined, made a cogent argument.  Apparently Ms. Mitchell hasn't heard of an obscure statesman in American history known as Thomas Jefferson.

Mitchell's complaint exposes the disconnect liberal elites have with normal Americans as Goldberg articulated on the show:

Bill O'Reilly Predicts Liberal Media Will Give Obama 'About 3% or 4%' in November

By Kyle Drennen | August 09, 2012 | 16:51

A  A

At the top of Tuesday's O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, host Bill O'Reilly rightly observed "the American media overwhelmingly favoring Barack Obama over Mitt Romney" and predicted that the slanted news coverage "will give the President about 3% or 4% of the popular vote" in the general election.

O'Reilly cited numerous studies over several years that demonstrated the media predisposition that "clearly favors the more liberal candidate, and has for decades." In 2004, then-assistant managing editor of Newsweek magazine, Evan Thomas, made a prediction remarkably similar to O'Reilly's when he admitted that media bias in favor Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry was "going to be worth maybe 15 points," a number he revised down to five points months later.

Bernie Goldberg: Journalists Are Obama's 'Most Loyal Base'

Goldberg derided the soft coverage Barack Obama receives, asserting, "...Journalists are Barack Obama's most loyal base. They will not abandon him." [See video below.]

He added that reporters have "too much invested in [Obama]." Describing the MRC's study, The O'Reilly Factor anchor marveled, "86 percent of all the media coverage on Mitt Romney's overseas trip was negative. Eighty-six percent."
