By Noel Sheppard | January 31, 2013 | 12:04

Piers Morgan Hassles Sheriff Who Encourages Citizens to Arm Themselves

By Matt Hadro | January 30, 2013 | 13:42

A  A

Continuing to harass pro-gun advocates, CNN's Piers Morgan attacked a Wisconsin sheriff who had encouraged citizens to own a firearm for self-defense. Morgan interrupted his guest repeatedly and tried to frame him as a loony Wild West gunman.

"What you're creating is a return to the Wild West in Milwaukee," Morgan insisted on Tuesday night's Piers Morgan Tonight. "You do these racy, Hollywood-style adverts. You want them all out there armed and shooting." [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Soledad O'Brien Challenges GOP: Do Minorities 'Know You and They Decided They Don't Like You?'

By Matt Hadro | January 29, 2013 | 16:53

A  A

CNN's Soledad O'Brien, well known for her documentaries on race "Latino In America" and "Black In America,"  questioned the GOP's credibility among minority voters on Friday's Starting Point.

Quoting an RNC committeeman who said minority voters and the youth vote "simply don't know" the GOP, O'Brien asked former RNC chair Mel Martinez "is it that they don't know you? Meaning you as the GOP. Or is that they know you and they decided they don't like you?" [Video below the break. Audio here.]

CNN's Gergen Says Benghazi Will 'Long Be Forgotten' If Clinton Runs In 2016

By Matt Hadro | January 29, 2013 | 15:47

A  A

On Tuesday's Starting Point, CNN's David Gergen smiled on Hillary Clinton's "wonderful farewell" at the State Department and touted her "very powerful position" for a 2016 presidential run. As CNN noted, Gergen once worked as an adviser to President Clinton.

When asked if anything from Clinton's term as Secretary of State would come back to haunt her as a presidential candidate, Gergen replied "I don't think so. The Benghazi affair, I think, will long be forgotten unless there's some smoking gun we have no idea about." [Video below the break. Audio here.]

By Noel Sheppard | January 29, 2013 | 00:56

A  A

CBS's Steve Kroft made a statement Monday that totally epitomizes liberal media bias in the modern era.

Speaking to CNN's Piers Morgan about his interview with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the previous evening's 60 Minutes, Kroft said the President likes doing his show because "he knows that we're not going to play gotcha with him" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

By Matt Hadro | January 28, 2013 | 18:45

A  A

CNN joined the networks in giving outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a cushy send-off after Clinton's syrupy 60 Minutes interview alongside President Obama. The network gushed over the "chummy" affection between the "political superstars" on Monday morning.

"Well, it's the exit interview everybody is talking about," hyped anchor Soledad O'Brien. "Hillary Clinton, the President, sitting down together, laughing, chummy, chummy," she added. "They really seem to really like each other," said correspondent Brianna Keilar. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

22-Year-Old Woman Schools Piers Morgan: I Need an AR-15 to ‘Have Enough Ammo to Get the Job Done’

By Noel Sheppard | January 27, 2013 | 12:15

A  A

In the weeks following the massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, CNN's Piers Morgan has been arrogantly claiming - on seemingly a nightly basis - that no one needs an AR-15.

On his show Thursday, Morgan got a much-needed education on the subject from 22-year-old Celia Bigelow who explained, "I want a gun that can hold a lot of ammo because if I'm faced with an intruder or multiple intruders that come into my home, I want to make sure I have enough ammo to get the job done, especially if they're armed" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

CNN's O’Brien Tries to Liken Critics of Women in Infantry to Opponents of Racial Integration

By Paul Bremmer | January 25, 2013 | 18:29

A  A

With the recent news that outgoing Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has lifted the ban on women serving in front-line combat roles, it is no surprise that CNN is cheering the decision. On Friday’s Starting Point, host Soledad O’Brien attempted to undermine those who disagree with the decision by comparing them to opponents of racial integration of the military during the 1940s. [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

Speaking to author Kingsley Browne, who opposes women serving in combat, O’Brien tried to set a clever trap. She read Browne a quote from a man she identified only as “this colonel”:

Gingrich Schools Gun-Grabbing Piers Morgan: 'Isn't Your Real View That You Would Ban Pistols?'

By Scott Whitlock | January 25, 2013 | 13:37

A  A

Newt Gingrich on Thursday night interrogated the gun-grabbing Piers Morgan, pushing the CNN host as to what his real motives are. An aggressive Gingrich insisted, "So, why don't you share your real view?...Isn't your real view that you would ban pistols if you could?" [See video below. MP3 audio here.] The Republican also told the British anchor why the Founding Fathers were able to defeat "your army."

Morgan swore that his concern was "the high-powered guns of any variety which can fire 30 or 40 or more rounds in less than a minute." He added, "...That would be my primary concern right now." The former Speaker pounced, "Right now? Okay, right now." Gingrich lectured, "The reason you find so many of us very reluctant to go down this road is we believe each step down this road leads to the next step and the next step and the next step."

CNN's Berman on Benghazi: 'Don't the Facts Always Make a Difference?'

By Matt Hadro | January 24, 2013 | 18:18

A  A

On Thursday morning, CNN's John Berman hammered a Democratic congressman who said the cause of the Benghazi attacks doesn't make a difference at this point. In contrast, anchor Soledad O'Brien didn't ask about the controversy over that remark shouted first by Secretary Clinton.

"But, Congressman – don't the facts always make a difference and doesn't knowing the facts and knowing them quickly always help in evaluating the situation so it can be prevented in the future?" Berman pressed. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Piers Morgan Accuses GOP of 'Misogyny,' 'Political Grandstanding' at Clinton Hearing

By Matt Hadro | January 24, 2013 | 14:03

A  A

Could Piers Morgan be any more of an Obama hack? After Republicans grilled Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over the Benghazi attacks on Wednesday, Morgan unloaded on their criticism as "political grandstanding" showing "a whisper of misogyny."

"I've been listening to the Republicans getting on their high horse about this for a long time. Now I've thought a lot of today's criticism was political grandstanding in many ways," said the CNN host who has done plenty of grandstanding of his own from his high horse on gun control. Kathy Griffin: CNN's NYE Show Highest Rated Since 2008 Because I Kissed Anderson Cooper's Crotch

By Noel Sheppard | January 24, 2013 | 12:14

Rather than actually taking heat - or heaven forbid having to apologize! - for kissing Anderson Cooper's crotch on CNN's New Year's Eve program a few weeks ago, vulgarian comedienne Kathy Griffin continues to do a victory lap for her antics.

On TBS's Conan Wednesday night, Griffin even said, "They did actually get the highest ratings since 2008, and I think it's because I kissed Anderson's sardine. I really do" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

By Matt Hadro | January 23, 2013 | 17:24

CNN Weatherman: Don't Laugh! Cold Temps Come from Global Warming

By NB Staff | January 23, 2013 | 15:52

We were amused by this one. In the 1 pm hour, CNN meteorologist Chad Myers was talking about the frigid temperatures in the eastern United States. Guess the culprit? As always, global warming.

"So what's causing all of this cold air? If I tell you and I look at you straight in the face and tell you global warming, you're going to laugh at me. But in fact, it's the case." At least he didn't applaud Obama's inaugural comments about climate-change policy:

CNN Challenges Pro-Life Guest and Pro-Choice Guest From the Left

By Matt Hadro | January 22, 2013 | 18:34

A  A

Reporting on the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade on Tuesday, CNN's Carol Costello pelted a pro-life guest with liberal talking points while chiding the president of pro-choice NARAL for not doing enough for the pro-choice movement.

For example, Costello began her interview with pro-life ethicist Pia de Solenni by citing poll numbers favorable to abortion rights activists. In contrast, she greeted NARAL president Nancy Keenan with this bland observation: "You know, it's interesting, you wanted us to refer to your organization as Pro-Choice America. And I have read numerous articles that your organization doesn't like the term 'pro-choice' any longer."

Media Hail JFK's 'Poetry,' Ignore That His Agenda Didn't Match His Words

By Mike Bates | January 22, 2013 | 16:40

A  A

With this week's inauguration, several media stories recounted past inaugural addresses. One oration prominently featured and applauded was the speech given by President John F. Kennedy in 1961.

On CNN's Web site, it was listed as one of "The six best inaugural addresses."  U.S. News & World Report's site included it as one of "The 5 Best Inaugural Addresses," noting that it set "the benchmark against which subsequent addresses have been measured."  Just in case readers missed it, the following day the same site carried the story "What Obama Can Learn From the Greatest Inaugural Addresses," this time declaring part of Kennedy's speech "poetry."  At The Washington Post, The Fix counted it as part of  "The 10 most famous inaugural addresses."  Politico claimed it "ranks alongside Lincoln’s two for pure eloquence."

CNN Asks Steve King If GOP Is 'Chastened' By Election Losses

By Matt Hadro | January 21, 2013 | 15:45

During CNN's inauguration coverage on Monday's Starting Point, correspondent John King helped bolster President Obama's image as he asked Tea Party Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) if Republicans were "chastened" by Democratic electoral victories.

"The President won an election that many historians say he shouldn't have won, given the high unemployment rate, given the sluggish recovery. He beat your party. Your majority in the House is a little smaller. Democrats gained a bit in the Senate. Are Republicans chastened now?" he asked the Tea Party congressman. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Dear Leader: CNN Correspondent Wrote Obama Letter Every Day for Four Years

By Matthew Sheffield | January 19, 2013 | 13:06

A  A

Most people would cut a 13-year-old girl some slack if she became obsessed enough with Justin Bieber to write the teen singer emails and letters all the time, but what if an ostensibly professional journalist were to do the same to a politician?

This odd scenario actually is not a hypothetical, however. A CNN correspondent named Tom Foreman has been doing just that, writing a letter every single day to President Obama for the past four years.

Pants on Fire? Despite Media Outcry, Romney's 'Lie of the Year' Was True

By Matt Hadro | January 18, 2013 | 19:21

A  A

It turns out that the Romney campaign was right to claim that Fiat, who owns Chrysler, would be making Jeeps in China instead of America, even though the media disparaged that case at the time with PolitiFact going so far as to declare the ad "Lie of the Year." According to PolitiFact, the campaign falsely implied the jobs would be outsourced, among other claims.

As Reuters reported yesterday, "Fiat (FIA.MI) and its U.S. unit Chrysler expect to roll out at least 100,000 Jeeps in China when production starts in 2014 as they seek to catch up with rivals in the world's biggest car market."

Anderson Cooper's Only Guest on Gun Issue Is Gun Control Advocate Mayor Bloomberg

By Matt Hadro | January 18, 2013 | 15:57

Anderson Cooper's lone guest to talk guns on Thursday night was the anti-gun New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I), echoing CNN's ridiculous disparity of pro-gun control guests and gun rights advocates on its newscasts.

Cooper pitched him a fairly easy interview, first asking, "your impressions of the President's proposals on gun control. Are you happy with them?" He later teed up Bloomberg to bash the NRA. "What do you think of the NRA, of how they have been fighting this?" he questioned.
