David Letterman Names Rachel Maddow 'The Smartest Person in the World'

By Noel Sheppard | August 23, 2012 | 15:58

A  A

David Letterman on Wednesday upped his superlatives for MSNBC's Rachel Maddow.

Having previously called her "probably the smartest person" in "all of journalism," the CBS Late Show host raised the bar further first calling her "the smartest person on television," and at the end of the interview naming her "the smartest person in the world" (video follows with commentary):

Maddow: Abortion Foes Would Force Pregnant Woman to Bear 'Rapist's Baby'

By Jack Coleman | August 22, 2012 | 20:30

A  A

For years I have heard abortion enthusiasts contort themselves in knots to avoid saying "baby" when talking about abortion.

Leave it to MSNBC's plucky Rachel Maddow to go where few liberals dare --  acknowledging, albeit indirectly, that abortion involves killing human life at its most vulnerable. (video after page break)

RealClearScience Nails Shabby Maddow Spin on Fracking and Earthquakes

By Jack Coleman | August 13, 2012 | 15:10

A  A

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow engaging in "unscientific, selective reporting of the facts" -- no!

This is what RealClearScience's Alex Berezow is alleging in response to a Maddow segment last week linking a series of minor earthquakes in Texas to fracking in the Lone Star State. (video after page break)

Maddow on NB Piece Linked By Drudge: 'Welcome 3-Day Onslaught' of 'Emails Informing Me I Am Gay'

By Noel Sheppard | August 12, 2012 | 13:38

A  A

Rachel Maddow apparently wasn't pleased to learn that a NewsBusters piece about her being destroyed on Meet the Press by National Review editor Rich Lowry Sunday was picked up by the popular website The Drudge Report.

Commenting on Twitter, the MSNBC commentator wrote, "Ah, a Drudge link. Welcome, 3-day onslaught of ALL CAPS swearing misspelled tweets & emails informing me that I am gay":

National Review's Rich Lowry Destroys MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on Meet the Press

By Noel Sheppard | August 12, 2012 | 12:01

A  A

UPDATE: Maddow responds.

She's touted by the liberal media as one of the brightest commentators on television, yet MSNBC's Rachel Maddow got thoroughly demolished by National Review editor Rich Lowry on Sunday's Meet the Press.

When continually asked by Lowry to defend the President's $700 billion Medicare cuts in ObamaCare, Maddow repeatedly refused making herself look tremendously foolish (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Maddow's Kneejerk Response to Romney's Welfare Reform Ad: It Is 'Dog-Whistle Racism'

By Jack Coleman | August 10, 2012 | 17:11

A  A

For more than a decade, liberals have insisted on the presumption of innocence for all manner of poor, misunderstood jihadists intent on slaughtering as many infidels as possible.

But when it comes to alleged racism from conservatives, the burden of proof quickly turns lenient. All it takes is a left winger claiming it so, a perverse dynamic long predating the war on terror. (video after page break)

Maddow Credits Student Protest With Saving High School in Detroit - Saved by Charter School

By Jack Coleman | August 08, 2012 | 15:01

A  A

Make that -- a privately owned, non-union charter school company. No wonder Rachel Maddow's memory about this got selective.

Michigan's emergency financial manager law, enacted by the legislature in 2011 to allow the governor to appoint emergency managers to oversee insolvent municipalities and school districts, is one of Maddow's obsessions, right up there with gay marriage, Republicans as inherently evil, and her barfly Cocktail Moment on Friday nights. Maddow Claims Romney Adviser's Remarks Nearly 'Start a War With Iran'

By Jack Coleman | August 01, 2012 | 15:45

A  A

Doing her part for the media pile-on passing for coverage of Mitt Romney's trip abroad, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow provided what may have been the most ludicrous criticism of all.

Maddow, never one for straightforward commentary when she can slant instead, was describing remarks made by Romney foreign policy adviser Dan Senor.  (video after page break) --

NBC Desperately Scrambles to Claim Romney Told Olympians 'You Didn't Build That'

By Kyle Drennen | July 24, 2012 | 13:34

A  A

In an article for NBCNews.com's First Read on Monday, Domenico Montanaro eagerly proclaimed to readers: "Mitt Romney has criticized President Obama for his 'you didn't build that' line, when it came to businesses....But in 2002, during his speech at the Opening Ceremonies at the Winter Olympics....Romney made a similar argument about Olympians."

Romney simply told the Olympic athletes – many in their teens and twenties – that they achieved their individual success with help of parents, coaches, and their local communities. However, by Monday night, The Washington Post's Ezra Klein, filling in for MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, wildly misconstrued the comment to slam Romney: "Got that, Olympians? You didn't build it....It's like David Axelrod went back in time and put the precise words he needed into Mitt Romney's mouth."

Laid-Off Worker in Anti-Romney Ad Now Says He Won't Vote for Obama; Will Media Report?

By Randy Hall | July 18, 2012 | 15:32

Donnie Box, a steelworker in Missouri who lost his job and is the focus of an anti-Mitt Romney advertisement being run by a Super PAC that supports President Barack Obama, now says he will not vote to re-elect the president in November.

"I could really care less about Obama," the lifelong Democrat says in an article written by Mike Elk on the In These Times website before criticizing the president as "a jerk, a pantywaist, a lightweight, a blowhard. He hasn’t done a goddamn thing that he said he would do," he complained, adding:

Huh? Rachel Maddow Claims GOP 'Being Taken Over' by Ron Paul

By Jack Coleman | July 11, 2012 | 22:16

A  A

Rachel Maddow is indignant that more people in media don't share her penchant for elevating minor news to mountainous stories.

Last night, for example, Maddow flogged away at one of her favorite hobby horses, her dubious claim that Ron Paul's spectral presence in the presidential campaign portends seismic upheaval within the GOP. (video and audio clips after page break)

In response to a judge's ruling that he pay Rachel Maddow's legal fees in his $50 million lawsuit against her, Christian rock n'roll preacher Bradlee Dean is alleging bias on the part of the judge.

Maddow Lapses Into Amnesia About Proposed Brown-Warren Debate

By Jack Coleman | June 28, 2012 | 19:00

For someone seemingly so bright, Rachel Maddow sure has a short memory.

By Noel Sheppard | June 23, 2012 | 15:51

MSNBC's supposedly most intelligent "news" anchor almost had a total meltdown on HBO's Real Time Friday.

When repeatedly asked by host Bill Maher and guest Nick Gillespie for her opinion of  Massachusetts' healthcare program, Maddow whined like a little girl, "Leave me alone about RomneyCare, all of you" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Reason's Nick Gillespie Schools Rachel Maddow and Bill Maher on Fast and Furious

By Noel Sheppard | June 23, 2012 | 00:36

A  A

One of the finest examples of how liberal media members really don't know what they're talking about occurred on HBO's Real Time Friday when Reason's Nick Gillespie gave a much-needed education to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and host Bill Maher on the issue of Fast and Furious.

In the end, Maddow and Maher embarrassed themselves in a fashion that should have both of their respective networks seriously concerned about their qualifications to disseminate information to the public (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Rachel Maddow Backs Off Bogus Claim About Wisconsin Recall Polling

NBC’s Brian Williams Apparently Didn't Get the Memo About MSNBC's Spin On Mitt Romney’s Unemployment Claims

By Jeffrey Meyer | May 24, 2012 | 14:33

A  A

As NewsBusters’s own Brent Baker pointed out, Brian Williams on NBC Nightly News Wednesday night called Mitt Romney’s pledge to reduce unemployment to 6 percent "unrealistic."  But apparently Brian didn't get the MSNBC spin memo, as three of his colleagues agreed that 6% unemployment is actually inevitable, and scolded Romney for making such a wimpy prediction.

During his 6:00 show PoliticsNation on Wednesday May 23, Al Sharpton said that, “according to the Congressional Budget Office, we’re on our way to a 6.3% unemployment economy anyway whether Romney gets us there or not.”  [Video embedded below page break;  MP3 audio here.]

White House and MSNBC Cite Bogus Report Claiming 'Obama Spending Binge Never Happened'

A bogus report published by MarketWatch Tuesday claiming "under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s" has been all the rage at the White House and MSNBC.

Obama Surrogates 'Speaking Honestly' Plague His Campaign, Andrea Mitchell Tells Maddow

By Jack Coleman | May 22, 2012 | 15:00

Aided by its simpatico allies at MSNBC, the Obama campaign has swung into action to contain yet another unfortunate outbreak of candor.

That an affinity of soulmates exists between Obamists and MSNBCers was never more evident than yesterday in the wake of Newark mayor Cory Booker appearing on "Meet the Press" and opining that the Obama campaign vilifying Mitt Romney for his work at Bain Capital was as "nauseating" as a proposed GOP ad campaign on President Obama's erstwhile ties to radical cleric Jeremiah Wright. Maddow Hates it When (GOP) Politicians Don't Read Bills They Support

By Jack Coleman | May 15, 2012 | 18:00

Rachel Maddow is perturbed that Republican Sam Brownback, governor of Kansas, said he will probably sign anti-abortion legislation he had not read.

Yes, you certainly have heard something along these lines before. Back in March 2010, two weeks before Obamacare became law, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unloaded a quote that will almost surely grace her obituary, saying of the 2,000-plus page proposed legislation, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it away from the fog of the controversy." NBC Brings on MSNBC's Maddow to Attack 'Very, Very Conservative' Romney 'Who Wants to Roll Back Gay Rights Nationwide'

By Kyle Drennen | May 10, 2012 | 16:13

A  A

To get reaction to President Obama's flip-flop on gay marriage, Thursday's NBC Today brought on openly gay left-wing MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, who quickly attacked Republicans on the issue: "It's a very, very conservative Republican Party on this issue....Mitt Romney, who wants to roll back gay rights nationwide."

Co-host Ann Curry helped Maddow along by asking series of questions from the left:  "...[Obama's] leaving it to the states, there's no movement to do something federally, in terms of making a change, I mean, what actually changes?....Is it clear, though, that this will not satisfy gay marriage activists?...that there's going to be an increase in their demands to push this further forward? Have it be on the platforms for the Democratic Party?"

NBC's Savannah Guthrie Admits 'Many People' in Media 'Uniformly Support Same-Sex Marriage'

By Kyle Drennen | May 10, 2012 | 13:20

A  A

In a panel discussion on Thursday's NBC Today about President Obama announcing his support for gay marriage on Wednesday, co-host Savannah Guthrie confessed to the group of all liberal pundits: "...so many people in the media seem to uniformly support same-sex marriage." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

That fact was made blatantly obvious by the discussion that preceded Guthrie's admission. The panel featured openly gay CNBC host Suze Orman, who voiced her support of the President's move: "Yeah, part of me is like, 'What took you so long, President Obama?' This is something that should have been done, in my opinion anyway – obviously, I would think that – a long time ago."

Military Incapable of Rendering 'Real' Justice for Jihadists, Maddow Sneers

By Jack Coleman | May 09, 2012 | 19:57

Rachel Maddow loves to gush of her admiration for Americans who serve in uniform. She also complains how it's borderline criminal that New York City has not held a ticker-tape parade for soldiers who served in Iraq.

It's all posturing, nothing more. Maddow considers the military contemptible, as true-blue leftists always do. (video clip after page break)
