NBC’s Brian Williams Apparently Didn't Get the Memo About MSNBC's Spin On Mitt Romney’s Unemployment Claims

By Jeffrey Meyer | May 24, 2012 | 14:33

As NewsBusters’s own Brent Baker pointed out, Brian Williams on NBC Nightly News Wednesday night called Mitt Romney’s pledge to reduce unemployment to 6 percent "unrealistic."  But apparently Brian didn't get the MSNBC spin memo, as three of his colleagues agreed that 6% unemployment is actually inevitable, and scolded Romney for making such a wimpy prediction.

During his 6:00 show PoliticsNation on Wednesday May 23, Al Sharpton said that, “according to the Congressional Budget Office, we’re on our way to a 6.3% unemployment economy anyway whether Romney gets us there or not.”  [Video embedded below page break;  MP3 audio here.]

White House and MSNBC Cite Bogus Report Claiming 'Obama Spending Binge Never Happened'

By Noel Sheppard | May 24, 2012 | 10:47

A bogus report published by MarketWatch Tuesday claiming "under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s" has been all the rage at the White House and MSNBC.

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter correctly observed Wednesday:

Obama Surrogates 'Speaking Honestly' Plague His Campaign, Andrea Mitchell Tells Maddow

By Jack Coleman | May 22, 2012 | 15:00

Aided by its simpatico allies at MSNBC, the Obama campaign has swung into action to contain yet another unfortunate outbreak of candor.

That an affinity of soulmates exists between Obamists and MSNBCers was never more evident than yesterday in the wake of Newark mayor Cory Booker appearing on "Meet the Press" and opining that the Obama campaign vilifying Mitt Romney for his work at Bain Capital was as "nauseating" as a proposed GOP ad campaign on President Obama's erstwhile ties to radical cleric Jeremiah Wright. Maddow Hates it When (GOP) Politicians Don't Read Bills They Support

By Jack Coleman | May 15, 2012 | 18:00

Rachel Maddow is perturbed that Republican Sam Brownback, governor of Kansas, said he will probably sign anti-abortion legislation he had not read.

Yes, you certainly have heard something along these lines before. Back in March 2010, two weeks before Obamacare became law, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unloaded a quote that will almost surely grace her obituary, saying of the 2,000-plus page proposed legislation, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it away from the fog of the controversy." Rachel Maddow Can't Decide Whether She Loves or Hates Democracy

By Jack Coleman | May 14, 2012 | 22:21

Rachel Maddow reveres democracy. Except when it might not go her way.

An example of this was evident on her MSNBC show Friday night when she spent yet another segment bad-mouthing Michigan's emergency manager law.  (video after page break)

NBC Brings on MSNBC's Maddow to Attack 'Very, Very Conservative' Romney 'Who Wants to Roll Back Gay Rights Nationwide'

By Kyle Drennen | May 10, 2012 | 16:13

To get reaction to President Obama's flip-flop on gay marriage, Thursday's NBC Today brought on openly gay left-wing MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, who quickly attacked Republicans on the issue: "It's a very, very conservative Republican Party on this issue....Mitt Romney, who wants to roll back gay rights nationwide."

Co-host Ann Curry helped Maddow along by asking series of questions from the left:  "...[Obama's] leaving it to the states, there's no movement to do something federally, in terms of making a change, I mean, what actually changes?....Is it clear, though, that this will not satisfy gay marriage activists?...that there's going to be an increase in their demands to push this further forward? Have it be on the platforms for the Democratic Party?"

NBC's Savannah Guthrie Admits 'Many People' in Media 'Uniformly Support Same-Sex Marriage'

By Kyle Drennen | May 10, 2012 | 13:20

In a panel discussion on Thursday's NBC Today about President Obama announcing his support for gay marriage on Wednesday, co-host Savannah Guthrie confessed to the group of all liberal pundits: "...so many people in the media seem to uniformly support same-sex marriage." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

That fact was made blatantly obvious by the discussion that preceded Guthrie's admission. The panel featured openly gay CNBC host Suze Orman, who voiced her support of the President's move: "Yeah, part of me is like, 'What took you so long, President Obama?' This is something that should have been done, in my opinion anyway – obviously, I would think that – a long time ago."

Military Incapable of Rendering 'Real' Justice for Jihadists, Maddow Sneers

By Jack Coleman | May 09, 2012 | 19:57

Rachel Maddow loves to gush of her admiration for Americans who serve in uniform. She also complains how it's borderline criminal that New York City has not held a ticker-tape parade for soldiers who served in Iraq.

It's all posturing, nothing more. Maddow considers the military contemptible, as true-blue leftists always do. (video clip after page break)

Equal Pay for Equal Work at MSNBC? Liberal Network Refuses to Say

By Jack Coleman | May 01, 2012 | 18:25

In a much-ballyhooed exchange with GOP consultant Alex Castellanos on "Meet the Press," Rachel Maddow parroted the liberal trope that women receive 77 cents for every dollar earned by men in America.

Castellanos added sorely needed nuance to the conversation, as liberals are so fond of doing, pointing out that men work longer hours and in higher paying jobs and women want more flexibility in the workplace, thus skewing the overall numbers. (video after page break)

CNN Grudgingly Concludes on Maddow-Castellanos Debate: Men Make 'About 5 Cents' More Than Women

By Noel Sheppard | May 01, 2012 | 10:45

As NewsBusters reported Sunday, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and Republican strategist Alex Castellanos got into quite a heated debate about the gender wage gap on NBC's Meet the Press.

CNN's Situation Room decided to find out who was right about this controversial issue Monday, and despite going to great lengths to side with Maddow, correspondent Lisa Sylvester grudgingly admitted at the very end of the segment, "It's about 5 cents of a difference, but it still is there, it's still real, and the truth is, men make more than women" (video follows courtesy Mediaite with transcript and commentary):

GOP Strategist Smacks Down Maddow: 'I Wish You Were As Right About What You're Saying as You Are Passionate About It'

By Noel Sheppard | April 29, 2012 | 16:00

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on Sunday's Meet the Press tried to advance the bogus liberal position that women in America still only make 77 cents on the dollar compared to men.

Fortunately for viewers actually interested in the truth, Republican strategist Alex Castellanos was on the panel to correct her after marvelously teasing, "I love how passionate you are. I wish you were as right about what you're saying as you are passionate about it. I really do" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Rachel Maddow Seeks Dismissal of $50 Million Defamation Lawsuit Filed by Christian Rocker

By Jack Coleman | April 23, 2012 | 18:43

Claiming that her criticism of Bradlee Dean consisted of "classic opinion and rhetorical hyperbole," MSNBC pundit Rachel Maddow is seeking dismissal of a $50 million defamation lawsuit filed by Dean last year.

Dean, a Christian ministry founder, online radio host and rock drummer, alleged in his lawsuit that Maddow defamed him by falsely claiming he wants gays to be executed. (video and audio clips after page break)

Geraldo Rivera: MSNBC Anchors Don't Care About Evidence, Are 'Cheerleading' for Zimmerman Conviction

By Noel Sheppard | April 21, 2012 | 15:09

Geraldo Rivera on Friday accused MSNBC anchors of not caring at all about the evidence concerning the shooting of Trayvon Martin and instead "cheerleading for the conviction of George Zimmerman."

Appearing on Fox New's The O'Reilly Factor, Rivera specifically pointed his finger at Martin Bashir, Chris Matthews, Lawrence O'Donnell, Al Sharpton, and Ed Schultz (video follows with transcript and commentary:

Rachel Maddow's Deceit About Michigan GOP Borders on Pathological

By Jack Coleman | April 12, 2012 | 18:36

Rachel Maddow Caught Doctoring Quote From Jefferson in Her Book 'Drift'

By Jack Coleman | March 26, 2012 | 11:20

Seeing how Rachel Maddow once insisted the Constitution has no preamble -- this from a woman with a doctorate in political science from Oxford -- it hardly comes as a shock when she misquotes Thomas Jefferson to her liking.

In her new book, "Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power," Maddow attributes the following quotation to Jefferson, according the description of the book at Amazon --

Maddow's Insipid 'Amish Bus Driver' Analogy Does Apply - to Sandra Fluke

By Jack Coleman | March 21, 2012 | 18:40

Back on Feb. 7, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow appeared on the "Today" show to talk with Matt Lauer about criticism of the new Obamacare rule mandating health insurance coverage of abortion-inducing drugs, sterilizations and contraception.

"Is there traction to this?" Lauer asked. "Is this an issue that's going to last well into the election or the campaign or is this going to be something that's going to fizzle out?" (video after page break)

Maddow Cites Wrong Segment in Own Show to Tie Inhofe to 'Kill the Gays' Bill in Uganda

By Noel Sheppard | March 16, 2012 | 11:02

During an interview with Sen. James Inhofe (R-Ok.) Thursday, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow referenced the wrong segment in her December 3, 2009, show to accuse her guest of having a hand in Uganda's "Kill the Gays" bill.

Ironically, she did so to also accuse the Senator of taking HER out of context in his new book "The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future" (videos follow with transcripts and commentary):

Maddow Ends Show With Santorum's Vulgar 'Google Problem,' Calls Dan Savage a 'Genius'

By Noel Sheppard | March 08, 2012 | 11:07

Having spent the past week mercilessly attacking conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh for his comments concerning Georgetown University law student and women's rights activist Sandra Fluke, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow closed Wednesday's program by discussing at length Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum's vulgar "Google problem."

You see, calling a liberal woman a slut is practically a hate-crime, but referring to a conservative man as the disgusting byproduct of anal sex is "genius" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Rachel Maddow Huffs: GOPers Skip My Show Because It's 'Unimpeachable in the Facts'

By Scott Whitlock | March 04, 2012 | 17:38

According to Rachel Maddow, Republicans skip her MSNBC show because she is so insistent on being "unimpeachable in the facts." In a brief interview for the March 2 Entertainment Weekly, the liberal anchor huffed about her personal integrity.

Maddow insisted she'd "love" to host a Republican presidential debate, but cautioned, "[On my show] our responsibility is to be unimpeachable in the facts, and then to be honest about when we are giving our opinion."

Frank Rich Tells Rachel Maddow Ballet Backers Should Support Gay Rights

By Noel Sheppard | February 28, 2012 | 10:12

New York magazine's Frank Rich on Monday stereotyped folks who back ballet as defacto supporters of gay rights.

This came during a lengthy segment on MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show wherein the host absurdly told viewers that it's wrong for wealthy people who appear to be socially liberal to fund conservative candidates that don't completely support same sex marriage (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Michael Moore Defends Mitt Romney: 'The Trees in Michigan ARE Just the Right Height'

By Noel Sheppard | February 21, 2012 | 11:34

For almost five days, the Obama-loving media have been seriously ridiculing Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for saying at a campaign stop in Michigan the trees in that state "are the right height."

Fellow Michigander Michael Moore, appearing on MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show Monday, actually came to Romney's defense saying, "Well, he does have that right. The trees in Michigan are just the right height" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
