WashPost's Miller Sad That Nuns No Longer Escape the 'Oppression of Marriage'

By Tim Graham | April 30, 2012 | 08:33

A  A

In Saturday’s Washington Post, religion columnist Lisa Miller brought her usual radical feminism to the table insisting Mary be “heard” as the Vatican insisted that American nuns and sisters actually act like they belong to the Catholic Church.

But this line stood out: “For more than a thousand years, women like Mary have entered religious life hoping to find a safe place where they might receive an education and protection from the oppression of marriage and the dangers of child-bearing.” The oppression of marriage?

More One-Sided Reporting From CNN on Issues Involving the Catholic Church

By Matt Hadro | April 26, 2012 | 18:01

A  A

When it comes to social issues, you can expect to get mostly one side of the story from CNN's reporting – the liberal side. On Thursday morning, that trend continued as anchor Kyra Phillips sympathized with a Catholic school teacher fired because she was using sick days to receive in vitro fertilization, a practice condemned by the Catholic Church.

Phillips started off with this jab at the Church: "Well, in vitro fertilization is a godsend for millions of infertile couples who long to have children, but the Catholic Church says it's a sin." So tell us where you really stand on this, Kyra. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

CNN Kisses Up to Lesbian Mom Fighting Boy Scouts, Asks Her Son If It's 'Pretty Cool' Having Two Moms

By Matt Hadro | April 25, 2012 | 16:29

A  A

CNN continued to show its unvarnished support for the GLAAD cause on Wednesday. Anchor Kyra Phillips was dripping with sympathy for a lesbian mother recently removed by the Boy Scouts as local cub den leader because of her orientation.

Phillips fawned over the subject's son as she asked him such questions as "tell me what makes your mom such a great den leader" and "Do you think it's pretty cool to have two mommies?" CNN claims to be a serious news network, but Phillips' "interview" could have passed for Oprah any day of the week as she helped Jennifer Tyrrell carry out her "mission" of changing the Boy Scout protocol of no gay den leaders. Bozell Column: Lifetime's Perky Prostitute

By Brent Bozell | April 21, 2012 | 08:41

A  A

Ten years ago, perky actress Jennifer Love Hewitt tried to jump-start a music career with a song titled “Bare Naked.” Now she’s trying that attention-grabbing tactic again with a sleazy new Lifetime series called “The Client List.”  She plays a massage therapist who turns tricks.

That network has adopted a new slogan: “This is not your mother’s Lifetime.” That’s appropriate for a new drama with a single-mother whore at its sympathetic center. We learn she was forced into being a sex worker when her husband mysteriously left her – you know, the way of the world for single moms.

Cybill Shepherd Rants About 'War On Women'; Hypes 'Mother's Scared For Me'

By Matthew Balan | April 20, 2012 | 14:24

A  A

TV star Cybill Shepherd went on a radical feminist bender on Friday's CBS This Morning, touting that there really is a "war on women" manifested by the "attack on Planned Parenthood." Anchor Gayle King had to cut her off, as Shepherd inserted her diatribe at the end of the segment, but revealed her sympathies with her guest: "I think you're raising a good point. We just need more time to do it."

The far left actress made her devotion to the pro-abortion cause clear, and hinted that pro-lifers were so extreme that they would try to kill her: "Abortion is our constitutional right. We should keep it legal. And also, birth control should be available to everyone....I'm coming to lead the next march on Washington, and I'm not going to wear a bulletproof vest. My mother's scared for me." [audio available here; video below the jump]

HBO’s 'Girls': A Voice for the Worst Generation

By Lauren Thompson | April 17, 2012 | 15:45

A  A

Lena Dunham’s new show, “Girls” debuted April 15 on HBO, and predictably it’s the new media darling for its awkward “honesty” and incredibly feminist plot. “Girls” is all about the woes and misery of idle youth and post-collegiate despair, and if Dunham really is “the voice of a generation,” as she claimed in the pilot (while high on drugs) then our future looks bleak.

In 30 minutes “Girls” managed to casually reference abortions, show graphic nudity and sex scenes and depict characters getting high on opium. Upcoming episodes will include sexually transmitted diseases and a masturbation scene (starring Allison Williams, daughter of NBC News’ Brian Williams – Dad must be so proud!).

Liberal Radio Hosts Rant at Catholic League, Scummy 'Nazi Pope'

By Tim Graham | April 16, 2012 | 15:39

A  A

Liberal radio hosts were furious with the Catholic League for mocking Hillary Rosen after she attacked Ann Romney for not working. Their tweet said “Unlike Rosen, who had to adopt kids, Ann raised 5 of her own.” This was seen by liberals as signaling Rosen’s children adopted with former partner Elizabeth Birch were “less valid, less worthy of respect” and homophobic.

On Friday, Bill Press confused the Catholic League with the nation’s bishops (they are not connected), but on Thursday, rabid atheist Mike Malloy was nudged into erupting about "child-raping" Catholics and their scummy "Nazi pope":

Former Childhood Celebrities Attack Kirk Cameron

By Noel Sheppard | April 14, 2012 | 10:25

A  A

In response to Kirk Cameron's comments regarding homosexuality, a number of former childhood celebrities have joined up with the comedy website "Funny or Die" to attack him.

Their mock group is called "Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron," and if you sound out the acronym, it's slang for male genitalia (video follows with transcribed lowlights and commentary, vulgarity warning):

Bill Maher Tells Disgusting Sodomy Joke About Marcus Bachmann

By Noel Sheppard | April 14, 2012 | 00:40

It's been months since Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) dropped out of the presidential race, but Bill Maher just can't stop making gay jokes about her husband.

On HBO's Real Time Friday, the host once again made a wisecrack abot Marcus involving sodomy (video follows with transcript and commentary):

NYT's Friedman Bemoans 'False Indignation' at Rosen's Slam of Ann Romney

By Matthew Balan | April 13, 2012 | 15:51

A  A

On Friday's CBS This Morning, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman did his best to brush aside the controversy over liberal diehard Hilary Rosen's attack on Ann Romney, claiming that the issue was "our latest example of false indignation." Friedman also defended the class warfare argument of the frequent visitor of the Obama White House: "I think everyone knows the point Hilary Rosen was trying to make."

The left-leaning columnist also claimed that the defense of Mrs. Romney was a cynical ploy for the votes of women: "When you have a close race like this, that is so close, you need every vote, particularly if you're in Romney's case – nineteen points behind on women – you're going to seize on anything...this was a chance to jump on it- you know, use it as a wedge issue, get some more votes." NOW Prez: Ann Romney Lacks 'Life Experience' And 'Imagination'

By Mark Finkelstein | April 12, 2012 | 21:36

A  A

Back up the bus!  After bouncing Hilary Rosen beneath the Greyhound, President Obama and friends might have to throw it in reverse again over the person of key Dem coalition member Terry O'Neill.  The NOW president suggested to Ed Schultz tonight that Ann Romney, along with Mitt, lacks "life experience" and "imagination" needed to understand most Americans.

For good measure, in the very same segment Dem congresswoman Maxine Waters called the Republican candidate for president Mitt "Rot-ney."  Classy bunch! View the video after the jump.

LifeTime’s ‘The Client List’: Selling Sex, Exploiting Women

By Lauren Thompson | April 12, 2012 | 15:01

A  A

Jennifer Love Hewitt is baring it all in her new show “The Client List.” Hewitt stars as Riley Parks, a down-on-her-luck Texan mother who turns to prostitution to deal with financial woes, and the female-oriented network LifeTime is shamelessly plugging sex like there’s no tomorrow.

In the pilot Hewitt pranced around in racy lingerie, and did an impeccable job of feigning innocence as she sunk into the darker world of “The Rub,” a massage parlor that distributes sexual favors to special “clients” on the side. Rules for the job include “flexibility” and an “iron grip to make the big bucks.”

MSNBC Boosts 'Gender Reassigned' Beauty Contestant: 'You Go Girl!'

By Matthew Balan | April 11, 2012 | 21:09

A  A

On Saturday, left-wing radical turned MSNBC host (is that redundant?) Melissa Harris-Perry was missing only the pom-poms, as she trumpeted the plight of a Canadian beauty contestant she described as "born a male...self-identified as female...and had gender reassignment surgery at the age of 19." Harris-Perry gushed, "You go, girl!..we are all going to be watching and rooting for you."

The leftist columnist exclaimed how "May is going to be an exciting month for my feminist friends and me. For the first time, we're going to be able to watch a beauty pageant with pride." After noting how Miss Universe officials backtracked on their original decision to disqualify the now-Jenna Talackova, Harris-Perry added, "Others might want to take note of this turnaround, like the city of Anchorage, Alaska, that just rejected a ballot initiative to add sexual orientation and trans-gendered identity to a list of protected classes." NPR Allows No Dissent As They Promote 'Mr. Gay World' Pageant

By Tim Graham | April 10, 2012 | 16:56

A  A

On Monday night's All Things Considered newscast, National Public Radio promoted the latest Mr. Gay World pageant, which was apparently made newsworthy since it was based this year in Africa (with black African contestants). Judges were looking for someone who could be a positive LGBT advocate and display their well-dressed and groomed "innate charm and sparkle." As is often the case on NPR, there was zero room for social conservatives.

Jo Ann Downs, leader of the African Christian Democratic Party, objected to this pageant being held on Easter Sunday, but NPR didn't find that worth noting. The pro-gay Daily Maverick site reported on Downs:

For Women at ABC, Life’s a B****

By Lauren Thompson | April 10, 2012 | 15:58

A  A

While liberals scream about the right’s “war on women,” their hypocrisy is more than evident. ABC is running its second show this season with the word “bitch” in the title, and there’s only silence from the exquisitely sensitive feminists so aghast at Rush Limbaugh’s comments about left-wing activist Sandra Fluke.

Where is the left’s outrage over “GCB,” short for “Good Christian Bitches,” and for “Don’t Trust the B- in Apt. 23?” Surely, branding women as “bitches” should spur the feminists to action in droves. It hasn’t.

HBO Imports Story Featuring Very Young Girl Sucking on Plastic Penis Cup

By Paul Wilson | April 10, 2012 | 15:37

A  A

The sexualization of children is now promoted on “edgier” cable entertainment outlets. “Angry Boys,” an Australian “mockumentary” shown by HBO, showed a young girl drinking out of a pink plastic cup shaped like a penis in Episode 12.

The incident is meant to be comedic. But showing a young girl sucking on a penis in a comedic fashion is akin to showing child pornography.

In Less Than Three Days, ABC Devotes 24 Minutes to 'Transgendered Beauty Queen'

By Scott Whitlock | April 09, 2012 | 15:49

A  A

In less than three days, over three programs, ABC devoted 24 minutes to the not-exactly pressing topic of a transgendered beauty contestant. Jenna Talackova appeared on Friday's 20/20, Monday's Good Morning America and The View. GMA's George Stephanopoulos talked to Talackova and her left-wing lawyer Gloria Allred, offering no tough questions. On The View, Barbara Walters introduced Allred as "the great women's rights lawyer."

Despite insisting that the story created a "firestorm," Stephanopoulos fawned, "What is it like, all of a sudden, to be seen not simply as a contestant for Ms. Universe...but also as a spokesperson for the trangendered community?" Stephanopoulos gushed, "It's gotta be something you welcome, because you know you're going to help an awful lot of people who have been maybe struggling in the shadows."

Lib Comedian Joy Behar Mocks Bristol Palin’s Resolve to Practice Abstinence

By Josh St. Louis | April 06, 2012 | 11:20

A  A

During a segment on the April 5 edition of The View, the panel was discussing Bristol Palin’s new reality TV show about Palin moving in with her boyfriend and her decision to practice abstinence until marriage.

While the rest of the panel wanted to have a serious discussion about the show and on the issue of abstinence in general, Behar took the opportunity to doubt Bristol’s decision and to make light of the situation. Behar, who delights in mocking conservative politicians and their families, appears to have no “off switch” when it comes to discussing serious issues. [Audio here, video after the jump]

Huffington Post Promotes ‘Queer Christ’

By Paul Wilson | April 05, 2012 | 11:00

A  A

Those who adhere to the gospel of liberal sexuality fall into two different camps when they discuss Jesus. Religious feminists argue that Jesus Christ had a relationship with Mary Magdalene. Religious homosexuals, on the other hand, portray Christ as gay, as the Huffington Post’s Kittredge Cherry did in a piece titled “Queer Christ Arises to Liberate and Heal.”

Cherry, herself a lesbian writing in the HuffPost Gay Voices section, launched her piece with a provocative and ridiculous claim: “Visions of a queer Christ are on the rise as Easter approaches this year – because the conventional Jesus is no longer enough.” The article supplemented that ‘vision” with a depiction of Jesus on the cross with the word “faggot” at the top, instead of “INRI,” like it appears in the Bible.

NBC Shills for Transgender Advocacy and Its Own Beauty Contest

By Paul Wilson | April 04, 2012 | 13:21

A  A

Transgender beauty contest pageant contestant Jenna Talackova threw a tantrum about being disqualified from the Miss Universe pageant because Talackova was born a man. And NBC’s “Today” proved more than willing to hype his complaint – despite the fact (or because) NBC News’ parent group, NBC Universal, is helping Donald Trump run the Miss Universe beauty pageant.

On April 4, “Today” anchor Ann Curry teased a segment on the Talackova incident: “It’s not often that Donald Trump backs down, but following an outcry, he’s decided to lift a ban on a transgender woman from entering his Miss Universe competition.”

Susan Who? DOJ Agrees to Pay Prolife Sidewalk Counselor It Sued $120,000; Media Mum

By Tom Blumer | April 04, 2012 | 12:08

A  A

The Department of (I don't know what kind of) Justice has decided to drop its case again prolife sidewalk counselor Mary Susan Pine and pay her $120,000 in legal fees. DOJ had no case in the first place.

If this were an antiwar protester or someone else favored by the left, this would be "DOJ run amok" news. But you will search in vain for a story about Ms. Pine at the Associated Press, the New York Times, the Washington Post, or the Los Angeles Times (searches are on "Pine abortion," not in quotes). You will find 18 references to her in a Google News search on "Pine abortion" (not in quotes, sorted by date, with duplicates), only one of which is an establishment press outlet (Fox News). What follows is the press release from Liberty Counsel, which defended Ms. Pine, and excerpts from J. Christian Adams's related column at PJ Media (bolds are mine throughout):

On CNN, Andrew Sullivan Attacks the Politics of Catholic Bishops

By Matt Hadro | April 02, 2012 | 13:25

A  A

Sunday's Fareed Zakaria GPS saw a ridiculing of the Catholic bishops and Republicans for their stances against contraception and the HHS mandate. The liberal panel was quite hostile to conservative Christians when the discussion came to religion and contraception.

The Daily Beast's Andrew Sullivan ludicrously accused the Catholic bishops and other Christian leaders of using their opposition to contraception for political gain. "My concern is that the Church and the churches have become politicized," he quipped. He insisted that the bishops want to make Obama a "one-term president" in the wake of the HHS birth control mandate. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

MSNBC's Wagner Mischaracterizes 'Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act,' Fails to Note Its Chief Sponsor Is a Woman

By Ken Shepherd | April 02, 2012 | 13:05

A  A

As Politico's Dylan Byers reported on March 22, MSNBC insists that its programming from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern is straight news, rather than "point-of-view" programming. Clearly Alex Wagner of the 12 p.m. Eastern Now with Alex Wagner program hasn't gotten the memo.

Take today's program, for example, where Wagner mischaracterized a bill working through the U.S. House aimed at curtailing the interstate transportation of minors for the purpose of evading a state's parental consent/notification laws on abortion.

MSNBC Anchor Roberts Admits 'Booking Error' Two Days After Petulantly Attacking Conservative Guest for Missing Interview

By Ken Shepherd | March 30, 2012 | 15:32

A  A

Openly gay MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts wore his bias on his sleeve on Wednesday during a segment in which a conservative guest, Maggie Gallagher, failed to show up to defend the National Organization for Marriage in a segment entitled "Anti-Equality Agenda Exposed." "Documents expose ugly anti-LGBT marriage plot," blared the on-screen graphic. Roberts groused about Gallagher's no-show, showing viewers her empty chair in the Seattle studio. "As you can see, she is missing in action, although we did confirm an hour ago that she was supposed to be in that studio. I would say, 'Hi, Maggie,' but you're not there," Roberts snarked.

Closing that interview, Roberts again showed the empty chair and complained that "Maggie Gallagher... decided not to show up for this interview." But today, in a debate segment on the same issue, Roberts informed us, Gallagher's no-show was a simple booking error. Roberts acknowledged the mix-up but  failed to stipulate it was MSNBC's error, not Gallagher's. What's more, Roberts failed to apologize for trying to shame Gallagher two days earlier on the presumption that it was she who backed out. [MP3 audio here; video embedded below page break]

MSNBC's Brewer Compares Republicans to Islamic Clerics Who 'Ripped... Rights Away' From Iranian Women

"A compelling, alarming case against the GOP and its 'War on Women.' Lest you think it can't happen here, just ask Iranian women how conservative, religious fanatics ripped their rights away." [see screen capture below page break; h/t @mattjmobile]

That's how former MSNBC host Contessa Brewer introduced her Facebook fans to a March 25 New York magazine piece by Frank Rich entitled "Stag Party: The GOP’s woman problem is that it has a serious problem with women."

Piers Morgan Says Kirk Cameron Was Being 'Deliberately Inflammatory' to Homosexuals

By Matt Hadro | March 22, 2012 | 12:05

A  A

CNN's Piers Morgan and conservative actor Kirk Cameron are still clashing over their March 2 interview where Morgan pressed Cameron on his views of gay marriage and Cameron replied that  homosexuality was "ultimately destructive" to civilization. That comment provoked a sharp outcry from liberal celebrities.

Later on in an interview with the Daily Beast, Cameron called Morgan's interview tactics "heartless" and claimed that the actual interview was 10 minutes longer than what actually aired. "They didn't hear everything I said," he insisted, referring to the CNN audience. "[W]hat I said isn’t a full representation of how I feel about the topic as a whole." [Video below the break.]

Liberal CNN Guest Derides Santorum as a 'Homophobe'

For instance, on Wednesday morning he cracked a joke about Rick Santorum being a "homophobe." He previously called Arizona Governor Jan Brewer (R) a "rude lunatic" and ridiculed Catholics who follow their church's teaching on birth control. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

CNN's 'Objective' Don Lemon Appeared at Two Events Featuring Sebelius, Received 'Visibility' Award at Pro-Gay Gala

By Matt Hadro | March 20, 2012 | 18:31

A  A

If you were wondering about CNN's objectivity on liberal issues like gay rights, the lines became a whole lot more blurred recently as anchor Don Lemon received a "Visibility" award from the pro-gay Human Rights Campaign at its North Carolina gala, where Obama's HHS secretary Kathleen Sebelius spoke and stumped for the President's re-election.

Then on Friday, Sebelius addressed middle school students at an anti-bullying event where Lemon served as the moderator of an anti-bullying panel. His appearances at events with an Obama cabinet member blur the lines of objectivity and his receiving an award from a gay-rights organization makes his liberal bias all the clearer.

NBC's Curry Slams Kirk Cameron: 'Are You Encouraging People to Feel Hate Towards Gay People?'

By Kyle Drennen | March 20, 2012 | 11:34

A  A

Leading off an interview with conservative Christian actor Kirk Cameron on Tuesday's NBC Today, co-host Ann Curry immediately attacked him for recent comments he made to CNN's Piers Morgan: "I'm going to ask you about this firestorm that you set off...on the topic of gay marriage....Many people are suggesting that this is hate speech. Are you encouraging people to feel hate towards gay people?" [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Curry plucked out a single sentence from Cameron's CNN interview: "...you said, quote, 'I think that it's unnatural. I think that it's detrimental and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.'" Cameron called out her selective framing of the topic: "I love all people. I hate no one. And, you know, when you take a subject and you reduce it to something like a four-second sound bite, and a check mark on a ballot, I think that that's inappropriate and insensitive."

CBS's Rose to Santorum: Why Are You Focused on Porn, Obama as 'Appeaser'?

By Matthew Balan | March 19, 2012 | 18:04

A  A

On Monday's CBS This Morning, Charlie Rose accused GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum of focusing too much on foreign policy and social issues, instead of the economy: "You talk about President Obama being an appeaser. You talk about [Obama] being soft on pornography and those kinds of things, rather than the bread and butter economic issues that you say are essential to who will win."

Earlier in the interview, Rose hinted at the left-leaning talking point that the Republican Party was waging a "war on women." He asked the former Pennsylvania senator, "Do you believe that there are particular issues of concern to women more than other voters?" [audio clips available here; video below the jump]
