Parade Touts Katy Perry's Divorce, Her 'Thank God We've Evolved' View of Gay Marriage

By Tim Graham | July 02, 2012 | 17:11

A  A

In the latest marriage-disdaining cover story in the Sunday newspaper supplement Parade Magazine, pop star Katy Perry wore a glittery Uncle Sam hat and blue blouse over the words “Yankee Doodle Katy: Katy Perry Celebrates Her Independence.” They're touting independence, as in her divorce from tawdry British actor/comedian Russell Brand after a whole 14 months of marriage. Apparently, he's the British autocrat in this analogy.

Somehow, Parade lunged to associate pride in America with gay rights and Barack Obama:

WashPost Boosts 'Rainbow Oreo' of Corporate Political Correctness, Mocks Misspelling Opponents

By Tim Graham | July 02, 2012 | 08:31

A  A

On Thursday, The Washington Post’s Dan Zak championed the gay-boosting “Rainbow Oreo” – with Kraft on its Oreo Facebook page sounding the liberal note “Proudly support love!” Zak sold this as a great moment for gays, Big Business, and Obama: “Gays are just as susceptible to clever marketing as straights. At long last! Equality under commercialization....A cultural moment — galvanized politically by President Obama’s May endorsement of same-sex marriage — is being validated and exploited economically by big business over and over again."

Zak did not think of asking: If Kraft is such a courageous genius of corporate marketing, why haven’t they ever marketed their classic cookies to America’s Christian majority rather than a tiny gay minority?

Comic Makes ‘Valiant’ Attempt to Justify the Occupy Movement

By Ryan Robertson | June 29, 2012 | 15:46

A  A

And you thought there’d never be a challenger to the popular juggernaut of Occupy Comics. Well, a plucky upstart has jumped into the market for comic books about pointless, failed social protests.

In an attempt to legitimize the “Occupy Wall Street” cause, Valiant Comics plans to release an over the top story underscoring OWS’ morality. An inherently evil organization known only as the “The One Percent” makes an appearance in the first issue of “Armstrong & Archer,” scheduled to be released to the public on Aug. 8.

‘Ted’: The Kind of Flick You’d Expect from the ‘Family Guy’

By Lauren Thompson | June 29, 2012 | 14:25

A  A

Much like Peter Pan, Seth McFarlane doesn’t want to grow up. For an entertainment producer, that can be a good thing.

But instead of transporting his audience to Never Never Land, McFarlane’s TV shows “Family Guy” and “American Dad” take viewers on a tour of a pubescent boys’ locker room: gross-out contests, twisted sex jokes, vicious taunting. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes not, but it’s all as fresh as old gym socks.

WaPo: Dissenting Lefty Nun ‘Part Zen Master, Part Political Tactician’

By Paul Wilson | June 28, 2012 | 13:42

A  A

Liberal media outlets have never met a dissenting Catholic they didn’t like. The flavor of this month – a liberal nun and her publicity tour group for “social justice” – got the requisite puff piece in The Washington Post to complete the adoration heaped on them by CNN, Time, and MSNBC.

In her June 27 article “The Nuns on the Bus tour promotes social justice – and turns a blind eye to the Vatican,” the Post’s Michelle Boorstein fawned over activist nun Sister Simone Campbell and her “Nuns on the Bus” tour, which she calls “an attempt to motivate opposition to a House budget that would sharply reduce spending on social services” and a “response of sorts to a Vatican report in April raising alarm about ‘radical feminism’ among top American nuns.”

Missing: ‘Illegal Alien’ Disappears from Network Vocabulary

By Lauren Thompson | June 27, 2012 | 14:23

A  A

Monday's Supreme Court ruling
on Arizona law did little to settle the nation’s ongoing battles over illegal immigration. But it did show how ABC, CBS and NBC have eradicated “politically incorrect” language out of their coverage of the debate.

In a span of six years major networks stopped using the terms “illegal alien” and “illegals.” The liberal media’s agenda is clear, and the word "illegal" is now considered a racial slur. In 2006, major networks CBS and ABC used the terms “illegals” and “illegal aliens” in their stories (NBC did not). Today, those terms have all but disappeared from network immigration reporting.

Chuck Norris Column: Is Obama Creating a Pro-Gay Boy Scouts of America?

By Chuck Norris | June 26, 2012 | 18:10

A  A

A Boy Scouts of America national board member, James Turley, who is also global chairman and CEO of the accounting firm Ernst & Young, recently said he "will work from within to seek a change" to overturn the BSA policy that bans gay Scouts and leaders. But is Turley working on his own initiative, or has the White House prodded him with perks and favors?

Is it a coincidence that Turley came out swinging against the BSA's century-old policy to ban gays from leadership and that he has such close affiliations with the pro-gay Obama administration?

WaPo Columnist: Exercise Your 'Civic Duty': Suggest Vacation Spot for Obamas

By Matt Vespa | June 26, 2012 | 17:33

A  A

It's almost July and the president hasn't yet announced his family's vacation plans yet. So of course Washington Post columnist Al Kamen felt obliged to direct his readers to kindly offer suggestions for vacation spots for the laid-back commander-in-chief.

“[I]t’s time to do your civic duty by suggesting where the first family should vacation this year. Deadline for submissions is Friday, June 29," Kamen told his "In the Loop" readers in today's paper. "Our five favorite entries will win coveted Loop T-shirts -- perfect for wearing on your own summer vacation." Or for the 8.2 percent who are without work, on the unemployment line.

Charlie Daniels Column: The United States Is More Divided Than Ever

By Charlie Daniels | June 26, 2012 | 15:23

A  A

I have lived in the United States of America for some 75 years. I’ve witnessed a World War, the nuclear age, segregation, the Viet Nam fiasco and 12 presidential administrations and I have never seen this nation as divided as it is today.

The divisions are not only along racial, financial and political lines but sexual, religious, and moral issues divide us as never before in history.

Bozell Column: Pathetic Dan Savage

By Brent Bozell | June 23, 2012 | 08:03

A  A

June is “Gay Pride Month,” which immediately begs two questions: Says who? and, How is it that we have become a nation of such compliant sheep that we accept this rubbish?

The Viacom corporation, on the other hand, thinks it’s the perfect opportunity for its MTV and gay Logo channels to announce they’re creating a second "It Gets Better" anti-bullying special starring their favorite gay bully, Dan Savage. On the cusp of this news, Savage denounced the gay group GOProud for endorsing Mitt Romney for president: "The GOP’s house faggots grab their ankles on this one."

WaPo Tells Parable of Activist Nun to Slam Catholic Hierarchy

By Paul Wilson | June 20, 2012 | 13:55

A  A

Washington Post writers have a habit of twisting history into political parables in order to spin current events. The Catholic Church is the latest target of the Post’s efforts to rewrite history.

“She the People” columnist Melinda Henneberger profiled the life of ex-nun, artist and activist Sister Corita Kent in a June 19 blog post titled: “Before there were nuns on a bus, there was Sister Corita Kent.” Henneberger, who gushed that “God was written all over Sister Corita Kent’s work, literally,” lamented that “Naturally, she wound up in Dutch with Rome.”

NPR Promotes Rapper Who's Glad Reagan's Dead, Since He Introduced Cocaine to Blacks

By Tim Graham | June 19, 2012 | 20:22

A  A

On Tuesday’s Morning Edition, National Public Radio promoted an Atlanta rapper named “Killer Mike” and his “politically charged” song called “Reagan.”

Somehow, they left out that Atlanta-based "artist" Michael Render ends the song with “I’m glad Reagan dead” and regurgitates the old conspiracy theory that Reagan and Ollie North imported cocaine into the inner cities:

Critics Still Consider ‘Girls’ Irresistible

By Ryan Robertson | June 19, 2012 | 13:34

A  A

After ten awkward and unpleasant episodes, the first season of HBO’s critically acclaimed show ‘Girls’ has mercifully come to an end. Each week upped the ante with graphic sex, inappropriate innuendo, frequent depictions of masturbation, and even a golden shower. Basically what we’ve come to expect from premium cable networks.

The season finale was no exception. In her weekly recap, Crystal Bell of HuffPost Entertainment detailed the storyline that featured an impromptu wedding and frank discussions of STD's. Two characters who barely knew each other decided to tie the knot. In yet another example of monogamy gone wrong in mainstream media culture, the unemployed bride had ulterior motives.

Even NBC's Donny Deutsch Doesn't See Racism in Obama Interruption

By Kyle Drennen | June 19, 2012 | 11:14

A  A

During a panel discussion on Tuesday's NBC Today about President Obama being interrupted by a reporter during a Friday speech on immigration, even liberal pundit Donny Deutsch didn't buy veteran newsman Sam Donaldson claiming the incident was racially motivated: "Sam Donaldson in response said he thought that some of this was racially driven....I didn't see that..."

Fellow panelist and Today co-host Kathie Lee Gifford said of Donaldson's remark: "Yeah, I wish he hadn't said that."

'True Blood': God Is a Vampire

By Lauren Thompson | June 18, 2012 | 15:16

A  A

If the audacious amount of gory violence and bloody sex in “True Blood” doesn’t do it for you, what about malevolent vampire “Christians?”

Apparently “True Blood” vampires have a sacred text, and HBO writers admitted it’s a slanderous take on the Bible and separation of church and state. A faction of vampires called the “Sanguinistas” functioned as a demeaning allegory for traditional Christians, as they literally interpret the vampire “bible” and believe humans only exist as blood-bags.

Liberal Media Cheer on Pro-Gay Discrimination

By Paul Wilson | June 18, 2012 | 14:38

A  A

The week of June 16-June 24, 2012 has been designated by the homosexual community as Gay Pride Week, during which LGBT people take pride in their triumphs over “violence and discrimination against gay, lesbian, and transgendered individuals.”

Funny, but they’re not making much noise about using government to discriminate in favor of their lifestyle. One Canadian activist even declared: “We’ll only take away charitable status from the buildings where the priests live and where the people pray.”

'Ethical Sluts' CNN Health Promotes Promiscuity, Demeans Monogamy

Associated Press, 1987: 'Why Do Grown Men And Women Shout At President Reagan?'

By Tom Blumer | June 16, 2012 | 15:03

A  A

You'd think from the reaction to Daily Caller White House Correspondent Neal Munro's shouted question during President Obama's announcement of de facto amnesty for 30-and-under illegal aliens at the Rose Garden yesterday that it's the first time any reporter has ever shouted a question at a U.S. president out of turn. Friday afternoon, the Daily Caller, Munro's employer, carried his explanation of the incident, as well as sturdy defenses from Editor-in-Chief Tucker Carlson and Publisher Neil Patel.

What follows is some historical perspective ("Why Do Grown Men And Women Shout At President Reagan?") coming from (yes, really) Associated Press writer Christopher Connell in October 1987 which is more than necessary in the circumstances (save here in full for fair use and discussion purposes; key items underlined by me).

NBC's Harry Smith Dredges Up Dan Quayle's 'Attack' on 'Murphy Brown' and 'Single Motherhood'

By Kyle Drennen | June 16, 2012 | 12:00

A  A

In an interview with actress Candice Bergen for Thursday's NBC Rock Center, correspondent Harry Smith brought up Bergen's long-running 90's sitcom, proclaiming: "Well you can't talk about Murphy Brown and not also say Dan Quayle....What Vice President Quayle said in a 1992 speech was an attack on the character Murphy Brown for glorifying single motherhood."

A portion of the speech played, with Quayle warning against, "Mocking the importance of fathers by bearing a child alone and calling it just another lifestyle choice." A sound bite followed of Bergen reacting in character on the CBS show: "What really defines a family is commitment, caring and love." Following the clips, Bergen happily told Smith: "Certainly Dan Quayle made the show number one for a few months. And when I won the Emmy that year, I thanked him for that."

‘Game of Thrones’ Severed Bush Head a Giggle for Media

By Lauren Thompson | June 14, 2012 | 11:01

A  A

We hardly needed more proof of the cesspool that is original programming on the pay cable networks. But just in case: “Game of Thrones” producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have willingly admitted to using a gruesome image of former president George W. Bush’s head impaled on a stake during the HBO drama’s season one finale, “Fire and Blood.”

Bush’s decapitated likeness appeared as one in a row of traitors’ heads on spikes (implication much?) in King’s Landing. When King Joffrey forced his child bride-to-be Sansa to gaze upon her father’s bloody, severed head the camera panned out and revealed a beheaded Bush covered in dirt and draped in long, matted hair.

The 'Conservatives' Who Clapped for Carrie Underwood Going Left

By Tim Graham | June 12, 2012 | 09:02

Christine D'Zurilla of the Los Angeles Times gets cute in describing the growing liberalism in Nashville. "Country music superstar Carrie Underwood has come out in support of gay marriage — and at least one conservative political group is saying, "Good for her."

Naturally, the Times turned to homosexual Republicans who put homosexuality first, and the rest is sort of window dressing -- GOProud.

Big Three Ignore Religious Freedom Rallies; CBS Played Up Dissenting Catholics' Protests

By Matthew Balan | June 11, 2012 | 17:08

A  A

ABC, CBS, and NBC stayed true to their liberal slant and ignored the 164 rallies across the United States on Friday against the federal government's abortifacient/birth control mandate under ObamaCare. Religious leaders and conservative politicians, like former GOP presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann, addressed the tens of thousands of pro-religious freedom activists who attended the rallies. But the Big Three apparently didn't think this was worthy of coverage on their morning and evening newscasts.

By contrast, CBS played up the supporters of a group of left-leaning Catholic nuns during four on-air segments between May 30 and June 1, 2012. Correspondent Wyatt Andrews hyped how "hundreds of Catholics have rallied behind the sisters," and that "protests in support of the nuns have been held in almost 50 cities."

From ‘General’ to ‘Government’ to ‘Gay’ – The G in GM

By Taylor Hughes | June 11, 2012 | 16:44

A  A

What do GM and President Obama have in common (besides that fact that he bought it)? They’re both catering to the gay agenda for cash. Soon after President Obama declared that “same sex couples should be allowed to marry,” government-owned GM decided that gays should also be targeted by its ad campaigns.

While Obama’s move paid off immediately (Hollywood had lavished some $12 million on his campaign within days of his announcing that his opinion had “evolved”), the jury is still out on whether it will pay off for Chevy.

TLC Exploits ‘Honey Boo-Boo Child’; Gives 6-Year-Old Own Show

By Paul Wilson | June 11, 2012 | 14:38

A  A

TLC has already exploited children with its show “Toddlers and Tiaras,” showing 6-year olds wearing skimpy clothing and guzzling energy drinks or “Go-Go Juice” in order to win beauty pageants. The network has now decided to further exploit children for ratings, with a new 6-episode spin-off series of “Toddlers and Tiaras,” called “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” follows “Toddlers and Tiaras” 6-year old beauty pageant contestant Alana Thompson (her pageant nickname was “Honey Boo Boo”) and her family in their Georgia home. The network describes the new show as “an inside look into Alana’s world where the 6-year-old pageant sensation proves that she is more than just a Go-Go Juice-drinking beauty queen. When she’s not chasing after crowns, Alana’s with her family in rural Georgia doing what her family does best: four-wheeling through mud pits and picking up road kill for the family cookout.”

WashPost's Lisa Miller Unglued: Vatican Wants Leftist Nuns to Be Seen as Scary Radical Islamists?

By Tim Graham | June 10, 2012 | 06:26

A  A

You don’t have to be Catholic to find the liberal media often sounds intentionally clueless when it writes about the Catholic Church publicly identifying for people both inside and outside the church what its teaching is.

When the church makes an announcement that perhaps someone who supports abortion, homosexuality, and masturbation isn’t really anywhere on the planet of Catholicism, liberal journalists have a fit. In Saturday’s Washington Post, (anti-)religion columnist Lisa Miller was so exercised she found someone to say the Vatican sees wayward nuns as comparable to Islamic terrorists (sort of like the Rosie O’Donnell character in An American Carol):

Bozell Column: Disney's Cynical Pro-Obama Ploy

By Brent Bozell | June 09, 2012 | 08:06

A  A

On the heels of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s latest stupid regulations commanding a shrinkage in the size of sugary drinks in restaurants, movie theaters, and stadiums, the Walt Disney Company has announced it will ban ads for products on its broadcast and online platforms that it has scientifically determined are “junk food” that do not meet the company’s nutrition standards.

Curiously, Disney announced that it would begin this new effort immediately – wait, no, at some time in 2015. So why announce this now? It would seem so Disney could be praised and honored by First Lady Michelle Obama – or the other way around. It just smells. It carries a distinct aroma of Campaign 2012.

NBC's Nancy Snyderman: It's 'Pro-Science' to Abort Children With Genetic Defects

By Kyle Drennen | June 08, 2012 | 16:57

A  A

On Friday's NBC Today, chief medical editor Nancy Snyderman explained to viewers that it's just good science to abort an unborn child that may have a genetic disorder, explaining that testing for such conditions, "gives parents a chance to decide whether they're going to continue that pregnancy or not. This is the science of today." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Snyderman then predicted: "I think the future will be such that you'll find out that your child may have a genetic hit. You can fix that genetic problem, and improve your chance, a child's chance..." When co-host Savannah Guthrie raised ethical questions about aborting children under such circumstances, Snyderman matter-of-factly replied: "Well, I'm pro-science, so I believe that this is a great way to prevent diseases."

NBC Medical Editor Claims Saudi Arabia Better Than U.S. on Equal Pay for Women

By Kyle Drennen | June 08, 2012 | 13:39

A  A

Making an absurd declaration on Friday's NBC Today, chief medical editor Nancy Snyderman asserted that the oppressive regime in Saudi Arabia was fairer to working women than the United States: "We still make 77 cents to the dollar as men. It's ridiculous. In a country like Saudi Arabia, where we question their rights, it's against the law to pay women less than men." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Guess what else is against the law in Saudi Arabia? For a woman to work without the permission of her male guardian. As a result, according to a report on PBS Newshour Extra, women in the Islamic state currently "only make up 5 percent of the workforce." Women must also adhere to a strict dress code and are banned from driving.

Boy Scouts Correct Cablers on Gay Falsehood

When the BSA specifically contacted MSNBC to correct the gay-left publicity line, anchor Thomas Roberts then went on air Thursday morning and asserted that the gays were about to “break news,” but now the Scouts are trying to “drive the conversation”....with the facts. The statement read:
