There oughta be two new laws:
1. We don’t need a phony McCain-Feingold campaign contribution bill. We need an accountability bill, a constitutional reckoning of what is going on with every cent, with every employee. We have a right to know their income, their property holdings before and after taking any office—and what they accumulate while in office and how everything they have after taking office or being employed by us was financed. We have a right to know if there are overseas accounts being bloated by someone—and the law must include an ability to recover all those assets taken by theft—prior to their sentence.
2. These people want to tax us and forcibly take a portion of our earnings. Many must actually think the money belongs to the government. It does not and they take our money and never answer to us. We have a right to demand answers—to demand consideration for our payments—we have a right to know how every cent is spent. We have a right to say no, on their spending—but they aren’t asking us. The law should require they ask us otherwise there is no consideration for the charges we pay. Every spending bill these people work to pass should be put on referendum first—a constitutional and democratic way to finance the republic. We have the technology now.
