Sticky trolls and the issues they create.

Most trolls come in to drop some inflammatory statement and then run for cover rather than stay around and get pounded with facts.
From Wikipedia: An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community...
There is particularly nasty troll I call the sticky troll. They come in with the same inflammatory messages but they stick around like a dried booger on the wall. Like Maldis of Farscape fame, the sticky troll enjoys encouraging negative emotions such as fear, anger, hate, and pain in his victims .
Several semi-important issues have been raised as a result of the latest sticky internet troll sighting -
1. Is a troll still a troll if he befriends some commenters? I contend that yes, he is still a troll. Inflammatory statements must still be backed up no matter how friendly you may get with some people.
2. How far is too far in dealing with a sticky troll? I contend all is fair in love and war. Some people felt I crossed a line in dealing with the lastest sticky troll sighting. I further contend that the tactic I used was at the end of a long line of other tactics the sticky troll either rebuffed or ignored. Moreover, it was used to further an argument. You cannot throw out any attack on people without backing it up by facts or evidence.
3. Should conservatives turn the other cheek when it comes to attacks by liberals and trolls? I argue No. This country was founded by men that most definitely did not turn the other cheek and conservatives are carrying on their work.
4. Is there a rash of trolls lately? I say yes. Don't forget the statements from the President himself before and after the election. He has told his minions to confront people on the right sphere. He has personally gone after a private citizen. And liberals in general feel emboldened by the recent victory in the election.
5. Should people refer to themselves in third person singular and is that annoying? The Vet got into a bad habit of referring to himself as The Vet in tackling a sticky troll recently. He acknowledges this may be annoying but is addictive because it is so much fun. However, it should be used only on special occasions such as military related holidays and The Vet's birthday. So yes, it very possible is annoying.
6. Has the recent sticky troll become a devisive force in the NewBusters community such that conservatives turning on conservatives? Yea right, Maldis, you would just love that wouldn't you? Simple answer - no.
