Good one - Free that thread was too confusing
April 20, 2008 - 23:40 ET by Dee BunkI know shawn at one point asked for my opinion but then I was going to reply and couldn't find it.
Shawn - you have to realize that this is Free's Shtick. He has been doing things like the scoreboard and the lists before you got here and it's not personal. You can’t have everyone making long run on sentences all the time (like me). Free has tons of good points and gets tired of saying them over and over when he thinks people aren’t going to get it anyway. He uses sarcastic humor to lighten things up.
I’ve had a few occasions where I’ve been overly angry or emotional and Free has come in with his scoreboard or some other little comment that made me laugh.
Why should Free change his style and personality just for you? It seems like you want to get along with him and are offended that he doesn’t like you, but you expect him to change into something that you deem acceptable. If you want him to like you, you have to start by liking him for who he is. We like Free how he is and if he went changing just to please you, it would really piss me off.
You need to lighten up about it. There is no way you are going to escape being razzed here unless you start thinking like a conservative.

I have accepted his scoreboard in the past and I have not said anything about it except for in pm's. He has always assured me the the scoreboard is for trolls only and people trying to get attention during during the debate.
Well I remember being perfectly civil to Unsane before free brought in the scoreboard. and I am still waiting to see what intelligent debating points he made in the Universal healthcare thread. He accuses people of being trolls if they cannot debate, but except for compiling list, he really is all sarcasm and no substance. I'm not asking him to chg and I like to get along with everybody, but if I don't along with free, then it is no skin off my back
Finally Noel Sheppard and Blonde have defended me many times in the past as well. Both of them I consider very upstanding people ande extremelye knowledgable. That being said, when I disagree with them, or I think they have gone overboard, I will tell them so. It seems you do not want to criticize fs, just for the simple fact, he has helped you out a few times. Anyways just a few thoughts.

I know that it's much harder for you and other liberals who come here. I don't think there is a single one who hasn't been called a troll by someone. It's my opinion that you are taking it too personally. Many of us will need to crack a joke at someone else's expense here and there. If you don't like it or anything else said to you, you have every right to tell the person what you think, make a joke back or handle it anyway you want.
Free has not asked me to condemn you or the way you argue (and I haven't), but you are asking me (and others) to do that of him and I won't. I'd rather just stay out of it. I'm sorry that you are so offended.

I can't think of anyone that believes in freedom of speech more than me I love good flow of debate and that includes sarcasm. Now freestinker has a bone to pick with me and I have seen him do this to Leon and few others, he will follow them from board to board and keep doing the scoreboard. At least with tv you can turn it off.
I gotten along with free for over a yr now. I just challenged him to come up with how he used any intelligent debate during our Universal Health thread. He is not answering the question and getting pretty sulky while he is at it.
He could have just admitted it, now here we are a month later and he has escalated this to the woodshed. He was hoping i'm sure that many of his fellow conservatives would speak up for him and call me a troll.
Not to sound condesending, but I am proud of many NB members, they can see that I use reasonable debate instead of smears and they are not being too quick to condemn me for calling him out. I'm not expecting clear thinker to be one of those people though, even at 70+, he thinks free is right no matter what. God bless him though.
