CV,

You are right, my friend.  A fascinating read.

I'm not even sure where to start.  That academe would stoop so low to maniacally push an agenda, particularly in that field, has me quite stumped.

Perhaps, except to say that the "oh so tolerant" liberals are not tolerant.  At all.

I hope young Mr. Ford's harrowing experiences end up with each and every one of thse professors in the unemployment line.

Talk about discrimination!

Liberal Power

I thought it was very telling of how liberals in power operate, why it seems certain professions are becomming more and more left. They are tyrants, which is why they love people like Castro.

Absolutely, CV

I particularly loathed the faculty's "gang tactic"....ganging up on the poor student, and then claiming to have been "hurt" (at least seven times, per the article).   Talk about group terror tactics.

The whole episode is totally appalling.  How can this country allow the suggestion of a student to be terrorized into giving up his/her religion in order to graduate?  Actually, I'm even more offended that a bunch of liberal professors would even think they could actually try it...much less do it.  That's just plain wrong.

They should have the literal wrath of God on their heads, not to mention the wrath of those who believe in freedom of religion.  It's one of the founding principles of this country.  These people ought to be strung up in the courts.

I read this, and kept thinking....there has to be a punchline in here somewhere.  But obviously not.

Too bad 60 Minutes is such a liberal rag....this story should be front and center in our national dialogue.

I was left hanging to, I

I was left hanging to, I kept reading waiting to see Justice served...still waiting.

But I don't think this is an isolated situation. Just look at how Global Warming is run...if you even question Global Warming ( as you are suppose to as a scientist ) you are thrown out, career ruined.

I remember in College, I had a feminazi who called herself an English teacher. All the stories we read had to do with "woman's issues", I thought I was taking a woman studies class. I was an outspoken conservative...not that I was saying anything old fashion either ( like a woman's place is barefoot in the kitchen pregnant ) and so she gave me a C. But at least she didn't try and set the whole department against me, sheesh.

I have had a few really great liberal teachers who liked the fact I wasn't a student zombie. But most of the time you toe the line or get in trouble.

CV,

Wow, wow, wow.

When I was in school....I was enrolled in the College of Business Administration.  We were a bunch of hungry little capitalists....Greed is Good (Gordon Gecko).

My electives were in things like the Bolsheviks & the Russian Revolution....tending to reinforce my caplitalist & conservative notions.

I don't think I'd make it through college today....without having to take down the entire faculty.  It's always been in my nature to question authority....and...oh....how I'd have to in the type of environment in the articles you've posted.

I am truly thankful I have no children....I don't think I could guide them through these liberal rocks & shoals without doing something totally against the law.

CV & Blonde, When I

CV & Blonde,

When I studied for my Bachelor's degree in psychology, I received it from a southern university where I was fortunate enough to have been instructed by conservative Christians.

Had I gone to some of the "better" universities (for psychology studies) such as Stanford or Harvard, I no doubt would have been inundated with utterly stupid and unscientific ideologies like those espoused by the APA or NAMBLA.

I did, however, get a C+ from a history teacher who was very liberal, an anti-Semite and an anti-Mormon. Three strikes and I was out.

Trix

If this is your professional persuasion, can you possibly enlighten us as to how this can go on in the "majority" of public learning institutions?

I'm sorry, my friend, I'm not trying to point the finger at you, but it's beyond my comprehension as to how a whole profession could allow such discrimination as I read in CV's links.

And if this is the status quo, what can we, as thinking adults, do to rectify this situation?  After all, our tax dollars support public universities.  And if this is what my tax dollars are supporting, I'm going to either have to figure out a way to quit paying, or to bring this horrific discrimination to the forefront....so that everyone understands it.

For a student, of whatever religious persuasion, to have to face this kind of professional prejudice, is beyond the pale.

I think CV's post has shocked me more than I have really fathomed.

Well, psychology is not my

Well, psychology is not my professional persuasion for the very reasons that I have stated. There are some decent and upstanding counselors, but unfortunately there are far too many who follow the APA's worldview which is contrary to everything I believe in and stand for.

I left psychology for the same reason I left southern California: too many ranting firebrands with too many agendas.

I suppose I could blame the 60s - you know, the drug-addled-patchouli-smelling-weak liberals who escaped to Canada and returned to advocate their own brand of deviancy - for the spate of liberalism in our universities.

However, to answer your question, I believe that the best way to keep our children out of these dens of vipers is to...(gasp)...send them to private or religious universities. I will not presume that that is a panacea for the problem, but bringing this situation to the forefront, as you have said, will be a great help.
