Racial Profiling and Totalitarian government

How Mexican am I?

Well, just this morning while driving to my church job ( I am a music director at a church, a typical job for classically trained musicians) I was racially profiled, pulled over, handcuffed and confused with another person born with my exact name, a man who had been convicted of assault with a deadly weapon.

How do I feel about this? Pretty damned mad.

Do I feel that race was  a factor?Hmm let's see. The cop was a short white guy ("ginger kid" is the term they use on South Park I believe) who appeared to be hitting the weights, and perhaps the steroids, pretty hard.

Yeah I think race was a factor and I am mad at the cop who pulled me over for "a bad break light"!

I am madder however at the bloated government agency that allows a decent fellow who has never commited or been convicted of a felony to be confused with a career criminal.

This event offers an example as to why I believe that government is best when it is small.

If these pendejos can confuse a man in his mid forties with salt and pepper hair who plays sissy classical music for a living with some gang banger from East LA how can they be expected to create jobs, fix the economy, safe guard the nation etc.

I desire a small, lean mean government that assures efficiency. More is not better, and in a very real way, in government as in art, less is more.

Our good police officers, the ones who catch murderers, protect our property, and so forth, have my respect.

The gigantic butt head who pulled me over, hand cuffed me, and then gave the most minimal of apologies over the confusion, is not one of the good ones. He is a prime example of how government fails us every day.

Perhaps if the police force were privatized but given the right to enforce the law then overzealous ass wipes such as the guy who gave me such a hard time would be eliminated once and for all.

If anything today's horrible experience helped me to re-commit to my capitalistic belief system all the more.

I can't assure you that this wouldn't happen during a McCain presidency, but I am confident that it would happen twice as often during an Obama presidency.
