Real easy. Post a link to your favorite (at the moment) YouTube video.
It would be good if you said something about it.
This is mine right now. I really like this video of Coldplay. They were just in my city , and they put on a fantastic concert. They gave everyone a free CD on the way out! They also walked up into the seats and put on an unplugged set. How cool is that?
Anyway I love this video.

If you've "Had a Bad Day..."
June 13, 2009 - 17:03 ET by Georgia GirlThis is for all my Newsbuster pals who have had a bad day .... and even for the nice liberals on here who may sometimes irk me. ;)
As for the reason I enjoy this song ... 1) It perks me up when I've had a bad day (that was simple, huh?) 2) I relate to this songwriter (Daniel Powter) for a few reasons. First, because the poor guy started out playing the violin -- but then switched to piano when he was bullied in school & someone broke his violin. He mainly plays by ear. I have honestly never been bullied in my life, but my parents started me out on violin when I was five, and I play by ear. & 3) I find his story inspirational. He is dyslexic and has overcome a lot.
Without further ado, here is the song that perks me up on bad days, especially lately, with Obama in office! :) I was forced to pick a UTube where the lyrics are typed in and "off" as he sings -- and had to forsake the coolness of the band I enjoy seeing -- for the sake of the best quality of the song.
But, Newsbusters, please come back to play this when any of ya'll have had a bad day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXWRqCeS_GQ&feature=related
P.S. I'll type a followup post of the lyrics, since sometimes people can't make out all the words.
Lyrics...
June 13, 2009 - 17:15 ET by Georgia GirlYou've Had a Bad Day
Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to gray
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on
You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces every time
And I don't need no carryin' on
Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Will you need a blue sky holiday?
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on
You had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
(Oooh.. a holiday..)
Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be, well, oh that strong
And I'm not wrong ...
(yeah...)
So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
I like that song also
June 13, 2009 - 19:23 ET by nwahsYou know whats the bad thing about hitting the charts with such a good song? How do you follow it up? But still after 3 years I enjoy hearing the song- I like the syncopated rhythm. It makes me beat on my steering wheel and play air cymbals :)

For a slightly different take
June 17, 2009 - 11:48 ET by UnsaneWhen listening to music after having a bad day, I really don't want to be reminded about having a bad day. Hence this song to me is not good at all. It is rather irritating and annoying actually, especially considering the airplay it has gotten and the commercials it has been used for.

July 9, 2009 - 00:22 ET by bigtimerDave...
Haven't gone to your link yet...but I insinctively thought most of his compositions were his own, he truly reminds me of Mason Williams...a true genius in his own right.
Long story about my life and music, but I remember th first time I ever heard Mason, where I was, what I was doing but I was listening gazing towards the stars as a kid, with my brothers beside me asleep listening to an eight track tape for one of the first times in my life....I was about nine or so.
His music is magical...I wished I had the soundtrack of the tape I had of his music, it was a reel to reel, but exquisite.
He could play anything...and did on this soundtrac, knew how to mix all, where it sounded like a symphony, yet it was actually him playing all instruments in the end.
I have to stop...long day.
So glad you introduced me to Hedges though/

Republican, Independent, Christian, Catholic,
Methodist, Baptist, 7th Day Adventist, 5 Percenters,
Hindu, Sunii Muslim, Brothers and Sisters who never seen the New York city
skyline when the twin towers still existed.
But still She called.
From the bowels of Ground Zero she sent this 911 distress signal.
Because She was in desperate need of a hero,
and didn't have time to decipher what to call 'em,
so she called 'em all Her children.
The children of the stars and bars who needed to know nothing more than the fact that she called.
The fact that someone attempted to harm us
this daughter who covered us all with her loving arms.
And now these arms are sprawled across New York City streets.
A smoke filled lung, a silt covered faced,
and a solitary tear poured out of her cheek.
Her singed garments carpets Pennsylvania Avenue and the Pentagon was under her feet.
As she began to talk, she began to cough up small particles of debris
and said, "I am America, and I'm calling on the land of the free."
So they answered.
All personal differences set to the side
because right now there was no time to decide which state building the Confederate flag should fly over,
and which trimester the embryo is considered alive,
or on our monetary units, and which God we should confide.
You see, someone attempted to choke the voice
of the one who gave us the right for choice,
and now she was callin.
And somebody had to answer.
Who was going to answer?
So they did.
Stern faces and chisled chins.
Devoted women and disciplined men,
who rose from the ashes like a pheonix
and said "don't worry, we'll stand in your defense."
They tightened up their bootlaces
and said goodbye to loved ones, family and friends.
They tried to bombard them with the "hold on", "wait-a-minute's", and "what-if's".
And "Daddy, where you goin?".
And, "Mommy, why you leavin?".
And they merely kissed them on their foreheads and said "Don't worry, I have my reasons.
You see, to this country I pledged my allegience
to defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic.
So as long as I'm breathin, I'll run though hell-fire,
meet the enemy on the front lines,
look him directly in his face,
stare directly in his eyes and scream,
"I AM AMERICA! WE WILL NOT BE TERRORIZED!
WE WILL NOT BE TERRORIZED!
I REFUSE TO BE AFRAID!
I'LL FIGHT YOU ANY COUNTRY, ANY CONTINENT, ANY TERRAIN.
I'LL FIGHT TO MY LAST BREATH!"
And if by chance death is my fate,
pin my medals upon my chest,
and throw Old Glory on my grave.
But, don't y'all cry for me.
You see, my Father's prepared a place.
I'll be a part of his Holy army standing a watch at the Pearly Gates.
Because freedom was never free.
POW's, and fallen soldiers
all paid the ultimate sacrafice
along side veterans who put themselves in harms way.
Risking their lives and limbs just to hold up democracy's weight,
but still standing on them broken appendages anytime the National Anthem was played.
You see, these were the brave warriors that gave me the right
to say that I'm Black. Or white.
Or

A little George Harrison
August 6, 2009 - 19:59 ET by nwahsThis first link is of George Harrison doing "In My Life" live on his 1974 Dark Horse tour. I wasn't at this concert, but I did go to the one in Baton Rouge La. I couldn't have been more than 18 or 19 at the time. I remember him doing this song during the concert and how ragged his voice was, and him substituting the line "I've loved you more" with "I've loved God more." Hell, I remember the rush.

The next is a link to a live version of "Taxman" from his "Live in Japan" album 1991. I just discovered this record existed. What is so cool is he does a lot of songs (including Dark Horse) that he did on his 1974 tour, but his voice is fine! If you're a Harrison fan, you need to get that album. It will take you back to another world. Another beautiful world.

This song was first published in 1963 when most rock n' roll songs was straight up and down - compositionally, 2 verses, chorus, 1 verse, bridge, chorus, 1 verse chorus out.
This song is linear. It develops and embellishes. Pretty unique for Rock n'Roll at the time.

August 19, 2009 - 21:52 ET by nwahsWhen I first brought the album home and played this song for my mom, she hated it. She could not get past the first line. It was sacrilegious.
It took a lot of explaining and discussing what it meant. I don't think this song is about atheism, or communism or even pacifism. I think its about, just for a moment, try to live just for the now. With all the bad and all the distractions, expectations, failures, hopes, whatever, forget it all and just live for moment- just this once.
Now I have no idea what he meant, but this is how I reconciled the song. My mom seemed satisfied too and it wound up being one of her favorites.

I think the 80's music was fun and happy it's because Reagan was president.
The big reason the 80's music is missing from the FM stations, is that the libs don't want reminders of how great a time it was.

August 22, 2009 - 15:46 ET by Georgia GirlYou know, I think we have become so high tech that was have become incredibly boring. We've lost some of the texture in life, ya know? Rotary phones...so very cool. Every call seemed important because of that "wizzy-clipping" sound made when dialing. And phonographs (yes, I really did have one for the latter part of my childhood)...so much better than CDs, IMO. What can I say -- I'm an old-fashioned girl. ^_^
GG What about album covers?
August 22, 2009 - 15:51 ET by Radical1979GG What about album covers? I remember buying albums and really studying the cover and inserts while I listened to it the first time. Now we buy our music online and don't even get the CD (who can read those little covers at my age?)
The only tech improvement is the iPod because we were at the beach last weekend and didn't have to hear the teenage music, they were all plugged in. Although I would have enjoyed the background noise of someone listening to a ball game...
P.S. Too funny...
August 22, 2009 - 17:50 ET by Georgia GirlOkay, I've gotten some very funny PMs on my phonograph comment. Yes, you guys are right -- I meant in my early childhood years. I guess (to some) I made it sound like the phonograph was not invented yet in my "little" years...and yes -- that does not accurately reflect my age. LOL! Cracked me up.
It reminds me of a year ago when my son found out I played "records" as a girl...he said: "Really Mom? You did? But you are not old at all. How is that possible?"
Nobody talk to me. LOL.

August 31, 2009 - 08:32 ET by UnsaneGG, having been born during the Ford administration, I was positioned perfectly to absorb vast quantities of 80s music. It also didn't hurt that I was the youngest of three siblings, and that my mother and two sisters were snapping up this music left and right.
Nor did it hurt that for Christmas one year my parents got me a record player (!) with a radio tuner, which I then used to check out various AM and FM radio channels.
Even amidst all of my heavy metal songs on my iPod, you can find tons of 80s music for that reason.

September 19, 2009 - 17:44 ET by Georgia GirlWell, that is an overstatement. But I do think that somewhere deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep (to infinity and beyond -- beyond any of his conscious awareness)...JWF thinks there is something about you that is okay.
And I went out on a shaky limb there. ^_^
P.S. I really am a grammar geek. It is bothering me so much that I forgot to put the comma on 1,000. ((^_^))
Really cool video
September 20, 2009 - 21:47 ET by BKeyserI just saw this posted by Moe Lane over at RedState. I'm assuming the lyrics in the tunes add meaning to the artwork, but even without understanding them, it's pretty amazing. This video is about 8 1/2 minutes long but well worth.

September 22, 2009 - 08:50 ET by Georgia GirlDid you have a video of REM on here earlier today?
HansW...where are ya? ^_^ If you can tell me if you posted it on here and it was moved -- or if on another thread. Thanks!~
Not me
September 22, 2009 - 10:47 ET by nwahsI haven't posted any REM, but I do like some of their stuff.

That is cool
September 22, 2009 - 11:03 ET by nwahsI've never seen anything like that. I thought it was going to be a stagnant (static) picture like some of the speed painting videos I've seen on YouTube. But it tells a story by constantly changing and redrawing the image. Thats unique ( to me anyway).

September 23, 2009 - 05:23 ET by BKeyserYeah- I think that's what I found so interesting about that- the constant changing. I really think it would have been even better had I been able to follow the lyrics of the music. But the creativity, coupled with the shear talent was off the charts for me.
Excellent BK!
September 22, 2009 - 20:59 ET by RukusThat was very cool! It's a keeper! Thanks!

New Conservative Anthem
September 23, 2009 - 15:15 ET by Otis PGreat new music video from the grassroots band "Due South" Featuring street level footage from the DC march. These guys are true Patriots and in need of our help. If this song doesn't get to the attention of Glenn Beck, Hannity, and/or Fox News soon, the Conservative songwriting factory known as "Due South" may be permanently out of business. September 24, 2009 - 16:54 ET by RukusThis is a video by my youngest and his friend. They recorded all the music and video and put it together themselves. It's really goofy (THAT'S MY BOY!) He's the first one in the video. He was 16 at the time. Funny as heck to me anyway! : )

September 26, 2009 - 18:38 ET by nwahsThis was first posted on NewsBusters some months ago ( a year?). I think it works so well because its a juxtaposition of a really simple melody with very complex nuances in the visual.
Whatever reason, its a beautiful video.

My favorite features Dan Rather
October 19, 2009 - 15:41 ET by Mishka ZaznaykinMy favorite is a news broadcast from 9/11 that proves that the agents that were assigned to blow up the George Washington Bridge were caught in the act.

I don't know you so I will be nice.
October 19, 2009 - 17:45 ET by JWFYou know what, screw that. You freakin' pond scum of a truther idiot. Screw you, anyone related to you, anyone married to you, anyone that remotely looks like you. Screw your neighbors, screw your dog and or cat or both. Screw the guy that sold you your car. Screw the guy that grew the asparagus you just finished. Screw your boss, you coworkers. Screw your classmates from the 8th grade.
You know why? For making me look up the truth. This is one of those stories that got reported in the craziness that was September 11th, 2001. There was a lot of scary stories floating around becuase it was a godawful traumatic day. And a lot of them turned out not to be true. And this one was QUICKLY found to be exaggerated. There was some arrest of some guys in a truck. But no explosives were involved.
Dan Rather later walked back the story but never did retract his scare story.
Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting later commented on Rather's treatment of the story:
This gaffe did not prevent Rather from reporting a new "scoop" later that evening:
"Now this just in from New York City. Marcia Kramer, former newspaper woman, now working at WCBS-TV, in New York, says that sources have told her that two people have been arrested with explosives under the George Washington Bridge. The George Washington Bridge, for those of you unfamiliar with the city, connects a part of New Jersey with Manhattan. So two people arrested on the GW Bridge in a truck with explosives. As this report—now, whether it was connected with the events of the day, we do not know. But an interesting report."
Rather repeatedly reported this as well: "Now WCBS-TV news in New York is reporting two people arrested by the FBI in a truck with explosives under the George Washington Bridge.... Whether this arrest by the FBI is connected with other events in the day, one can only question."
Later, he prefaced the story with "it may not be over yet," and added that "authorities say there were enough explosives in the truck to bring down the bridge." Yet another repetition of the story stated as fact that "the FBI has two suspects in hand," and that "enough explosives were in the truck to do great damage to the George Washington Bridge."
As with the State Department car-bombing, Rather had to backtrack on this story as well: "Marcia Kramer of WCBS-TV, our CBS-owned and -operated station in New York, reported some time ago that the FBI had in custody two suspects caught with a pickup truck of explosives around the George Washington Bridge; now further checking on that story [reveals] that other law enforcement officials in New York said they knew nothing about it, and now Jim Stewart is saying that FBI headquarters in Washington knows nothing about it. We'll have to put that in a long line of things that's under the 'Well, we're skeptical now.' Maybe it's true and maybe it isn't." There is no record in the Nexis database of Rather telling his audience that it actually wasn't true.
Rather accompanied the backtracking with another self-justification: "I repeat for emphasis, we'd rather be last than be wrong, but in reporting of this kind, we're bound to make some mistakes." But is it really inevitable that anchors will pass on uncorroborated stories to the public—and portray them as fact, not rumor? For days, New Yorkers expressed surprise that the George Washington Bridge story was not true—victims of a needless panic that Dan Rather had helped to spread.

Of course, if you were trying to point out the Dan Rather bias. You did a poor job. You looked like a truther and I won't apologise.

Stop Frame Animation Dancing in the UK
