No Disharmony in Obama’s Adopted Hometown?

In a post Wednesday, I reported that a joint anti-war protest and immigrants rights rally was set to take place today in Pilsen, the heart of the Chicago’s Latino community. And it did. Unfortunately, it appears most Chicago media outlets seem content with providing little or no coverage of the rally. Perhaps, it’s part of an effort to make it appear as if no disharmony exists in President Barack Obama’s adopted hometown.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not eager to see such events receive publicity. Far from it. I do, however, support the Constitutional right of American citizens to stage such events whether or not I share their beliefs and values. The fact that today’s rally took place only after organizers won a month-long court battle against Chicago city officials should have added to the news value of the event and, indeed, should have been included in any reports by credible reporters.
