The McCartney/Lennon Debate

Am I crazy, or has the MSM politicized the Beatles? Everywhere I look in the MSM, I see cynical Lennon lionized, T-shirts and movies abound. So is the optimistic McCartney overlooked today in the MSM? How many movies have been made about the life of John Lennon? I've seen at least 4. McCartney, on the other hand, has not been so fortunate in the eyes of Hollywood. I see very little press in the MSM on the genius who still walks among us, Paul McCartney. Why? Because he writes fun, optimistic songs. And there is nothing that bores the left more than optimism.

I've always liked the

I've always liked the Beatles' music and I think that Lennon was a fine song composer.

His problem - and this is why the MSM loves him - is that he was a completely dysfunctional dork with a "screw 'em all" attitude. He lived the life that the simpletons of the MSM adore which is this: the dichotomy of a drug-addled multi-millionaire singing about a world with no posessions, no countries, and no religion.

"And the world will live as one". Yech.

Well, when it comes to marriage...

I suspect Sir Paul has recently become distinctly-pessimistic! Moral: listen to all the lawyers & go GET A PRENUP WHEN YOU'RE THAT RICH!!!

Say NO to Solo Lennon

Yes, I agree with you on this issue 100%. Though I was born in 1988, I have all the Beatles' albums on CD. I enjoy their music very much, and I have to say I like it better when John Lennon was WITH the Beatles. When he went solo, he got on his high horse and became a raving Marxist druggie. That's why I never listen to Imagine, Give Peace a Chance, or Working Class Hero. I would take Paul's solo songs over Lennon's any time.
