Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, and Rachel Carson: Legacies of Mass Genocide

When most people think about mass genocide, they usually envision brutal dictators intentionally killing their own citizens. Few people, however, consider indirect causes of genocide, but these indirect causes are no less abominable. Without a doubt, the greatest indirect link to mass genocide is Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring.

Silent Spring was written in the 1960s after the use of DDT became very prevalent in America. DDT is the most effective and least expensive chemical in the world at killing mosquitoes. In fact, it once was very common for trucks to drive through neighborhoods spraying enormous quantities of the substance everywhere. However, since that time, research has proven that only small drops of DDT are needed to eradicate any mosquito problem.

Nevertheless, instead of limiting the quantity of DDT used, Rachel Carson went even further. Based on faulty research, and anecdotal exaggerations, she wrote her book about the horrors of DDT and called for its total prohibition. In her book, she said that if we tolerated the continued use of DDT, even in small quantities, we would soon live a world without birds, without clean water, and everyone would die of cancer. She even spouted abject nonsense about how she knew people who instantly developed cancer after using DDT.

The problem with Rachel Carson’s book is that none of it was true. There was no mass biocide. There was no mass epidemic of cancer linked to DDT. Moreover, our drinking water in America is one of the cleanest in the world.

Considering the fact that Rachel Carson was one of the biggest charlatans in history, it is amazing that liberals still idolize her. Her book has clearly become the bible for environmentalists, and has a cult following. Sadly, this strange obsession would be acceptable if mosquitoes were only a simple pest, as they are in America. But in Africa, millions of people die each year as a result of mosquito bites, combined with liberals preventing the implementation of DDT.

Furthermore, in Africa there is a devastating epidemic of malaria resulting from infected mosquitoes. Astonishingly, one child dies every thirty seconds, and one million people die each year in Africa from Malaria. To combat this problem, instead of using DDT, young children drape their beds with cheap nets. One hole often leads to the deaths of young infants.

Could anyone imagine this happening in America? Could anyone imagine an epidemic where millions of American citizens were dying of malaria and Hollywood Limousine liberals prohibited the use of the most effective cure? Honestly, picture in your head people from France telling people in California that they have to drape their children in nets instead of using a chemical that could save their child.

Recently, in a plea for sanity, the Uganda’s Minister of Health begged the western world to allow his citizens to use DDT. This is despicable. At this point, environmentalists are responsible for more deaths in Africa than colonialism. They say it is all to protect the precious biodiversity, but in reality, these moronic liberals only care about a clean place for them to live without being personally inconvenienced.

The evidence is overwhelming that just about every liberal policy in the history of the world has led to the deaths of millions of people. Moreover, liberals like Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot, have been linked to the mass genocide of millions. Evidently, the environmentalists of today are no different.
