I've got a question after listening to Michael Gerson...

There is a shift happening in America. It is a shift in worldviews. Liberalism is gaining momentum especially among younger voters thanks to government school indoctrination.

As an example, today I heard Charles Krauthammer suggest that the younger generation will be more accepting of homosexual marriage once the older generation dies out.

And Michael Gerson, former Bush speech writer, suggested that the Tea Party is Toxic for the GOP and seems to suggest that the Republican Party needs to align itself in what would appear to be more liberal ideas or risk becoming extinct.

My question: Would you ever, as a Conservative, abandon your Conservative values if you knew that doing so would gain votes?
