"Dad, do you obey Obama?"
My seven year old son asked me that question earlier this evening. It was a good opportunity to explain to him how in the United States, the government doesn't rule over us, or give us our rights, but rather that we establish government to secure the rights God has already given us.
Now, we will pause while all the Liberals complain "A seven year old can't understand that."
He understood it just fine. To their shame, the folks who can't understand it are Liberals.

How funny it is
October 19, 2009 - 21:04 ET by Free StinkerHow funny it is, in teaching my son about our government I gained a little more insight into the childishness of Liberals.

October 19, 2009 - 21:56 ET by shawn228Funny story, my eight year old daughter told me the day before Obama's inaugeration that too bad tomorrow is the last day of freedom.
I was quite amused, because she does not know about politics. I said, honey have you been listening to someone named Rush Limbaugh? She gave me a blank look and said, we have to go back to school the day after Martin Luther King day :-)

First of all, most liberals
October 19, 2009 - 21:14 ET by BKeyserFirst of all, most liberals don't have the intellectual capacity of a seven year-old, so I think you're drawing unfair comparisons.
Secondly, the standard answer for a married male in America is: "No, I obey mama." But I digest...
What's scary is, if he attends public school, that may have been a homework assignment.

October 20, 2009 - 15:34 ET by Georgia GirlI really enjoyed reading this blog -- and the followup discussion as well.
Kids are the best. They cut through the bull. They are truth detectors, and they can often figure out exactly what is going on --more than we sometimes think.
Our son is well-versed in history and has shown wisdom in applying his knowledge to situations. He brought up to us that Obama seems bent toward socialism (had concrete reasons too) -- he's not happy about it. The other day, he asked me: "Do you think some people are sorry they voted for him?" I told him I thought that some were. Then he asked: "But didn't they know what he was like before they voted for him?"
I told him: "Well, think of it like not studying at all before taking a final exam."
He nodded his head like a wise old man and said: "Oh, yeah...unless you've really paid attention in class, that's not going to turn out well."
((^_^))
P.S. And we won't even talk about those who paid attention and this is what they really wanted!
