The problem with this article by Michael Paulson is the premise that the Church is investigating seminaries to see if a ban on homosexual Priests should be put in place. It begs the question, if homosexual seminarians are currently allowed, why would you need an investigation? The answer of course is that they are not allowed. A 1961 <Vatican> document produced by the Sacred Congregation for Religious states: "Those affected by the perverse inclination to homosexuality or pederasty should be excluded from religious vows and ordination," because priestly ministry would place such persons in "grave danger". Paulson also calls the attackers "pedophiles" and not homosexuals per se. The problem with that distinction is that it's not true. His own newspaper reported in excruciating detail that most of the vistims (81%) were male, and the vast majority of them post puberty. The globe doesn't call mary Kay Letourneu and other teacher-predators pedophiles when they preyed on her students because they were teenagers.
