Today in a press briefing, Robert Gibbs followed up on Rahm Emmanuel's and David Axelrod's comments from the Sunday interview shows directed against Fox News. Gibbs reiterated the White House position that the choices that Fox News made were driven more by an interest in profits than good journalism. He said, "I would say sometimes programming can be tilted toward accentuating those profits."
Breitbart.tv » Fox News Reacts to White House Urging Other Networks to Disregard Them
The White House seems to have committed itself to an overt policy of delegitimizing Fox News, as opposed to merely characterizing them as a source of unfriendly or unflattering news reports. I must wonder, however, if after the 2010 elections Obama won't change his stance on this refusal to come on FOX.
I mean, let's think that maybe he will need to do some explaining and make his case face-to-face with the Americans who see him for what he is, after his sycophants are removed from Congress. I would love to see him on BOR or Beck. That is, of course, if he has the fortitude to man-up on his policies. No name-calling, no rhetoric, just plain and solid verifiable facts that he must answer to.
Here's hoping!
