The professional wrestler known to many legions of fans as Ultimate Warrior (real name Warrior) has become a target of TMZ.com in his ongoing feud with fellow wrestler Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea).
In a recent video that was posted on his website www.ultimatewarriortv.com, Warrior (his legal name) was asked a question about pictures of Bollea rubbing oil close to the private parts of his daugher Brooke. Warrior, wearing a black cloak and wearing a mask of his former self from his World Wrestling Federation days, said he found it "funny and ironic" about these pictures and commented how much of a "pervert and irresponsible human being and parent (Terry Bollea) is". http://ultimatewarriortv.com/blog/?p=33.
Warrior then went on to comment that Hogan's son Nick, who is serving an eight-month prison sentence for nearly killing his friend in an automobile accident where young Nick was found to have been drinking prior to the wreck (The crash has left Nick's friend, an Iraq War vet, in a nursing home for the rest of his life). Warrior gave Nick the advice to not pick up the soap while he's in prison.
So what did TMZ show? Did it show Warrior's advice to Brooke or his criticism of Terry "Hulk Hogan" Bollea's committing adultery with someone less than ten years his daughter's senior (the Hulkster and his wife are in the middle of a messy divorce battle because of it)? No.
Instead, TMZ went on to slam Warrior as "nobody's favorite homophobe" and as the "Ultimate Idiot". http://www.tmz.com/2008/05/27/warrior-to-hogan-oil-up-your-son/.
It should be noted that Terry Bollea participated in a DVD produced by Warrior's former employer, World Wrestling Entertainment entitled "The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior", which is now the subject of a federal lawsuit between Warrior and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
This is not the first time that Warrior has been the target of TMZ's smear efforts. Back in April, TMZ reported on Warrior's comeback to wrestling in late June in Barcelona with the headline of "Ultimate Douchebag Will Wrestle Again". http://www.tmz.com/2008/04/21/ultimate-douchebag-will-wrestle-again/.
Will TMZ ever acknowledge the tremendous following of one of professional wrestling's superstars? Someone who has been out of wrestling for nearly ten years yet is still in high demand? Or will they yet again back a morally reprehensible wrestler with a talentless daughter and convict son?
