Has this been posted here laready?? I have not seen it.

The United States Senate may vote any day on the stealth imposition of what could amount to an $845 BILLION United Nations style global tax on American citizens?

It's called the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), and it is being sponsored by none other than Senator Barack Obama.

According to some conservative sources, this disastrous legislation could eventually force U.S. taxpayers to fork over as much as 0.7 percent of the nation's Gross Domestic Product -- or $845,000,000,000.00 -- on welfare to third-world countries.

had not seen that, mr.b

I had not seen that, but it doesn't surprise me in the least. BHObama's mother was a 'Fellow-Traveler', and the next two most influentual people in his life are his wife and his pastor, 'Beauty and the Beast', or is that the other way around. All of the candidates are globalists, but Barack Hussein Obama is the worst by a good margin. And just imagine the handouts he would offer to voters to get re-elected; the New Deal and Great Society would look puny in comparison.

Thanks for responding--

S2433 is one of those quiet issues--it has passed the Senate already. Is your Senator one of the ones who voted for it?? This is the first time I have done a search on a bill on the net and come up empty.

I cannot find how my Senators voted on it. I am quite disappointed, since the odds are they voted for it.  I am also disappointed lately in NB and the lack of discussion on issues so important to us that it means the loss of our country as we know it.

NB is truning into an internet "The View". With the exception of AGW, everyone is focused on almost a talk show level about the candidiates. I rarely see anything about McCains lieutenant Juan Hernandez. Perhaps I missed it, but McCs lips on La Raza's butt didn't get much play here either. It could be me. I confess that age is causing me to have more "senior moments" lately. Perhaps its time to hang up the keyboard.

I am glad that NB tracks some economic issues closely, e.g. Home Depot as discussed on MSM and so forth. I have come to the conclusion that I am considered to be a "conspiro" even though, every day there is more and more evidence about happenings in the USA that substantiate the possibility of an attempt to form a North American Union. I am happy, in spite of it, that Lou Dobbs, Phyllis Schlafly and many other high profile, intelligent  people  are watching it closely. I see very little about illegal immigration and thus I must go to other sites to track the  tremendous numbers of daily issues that are immigration related. A recent poll showed that the economy was the number one issue with immigration a close second. There is, of course, a strong interrelationship between them.

OK has done a great job in fighting illegal immigration, but , very recently, a couple of bills have passed that reduces their effect. I think NB would be well served to ask their editors and contributing writers to focus on a couple of these issues to keep NB members up to speed.

There ias a lot more happening out there. This Obamabill dips into my pocket without my permission. (As most bills do.) There is no way that I want the corrupt UN getting our money to distribute. I for one think the USA would be better off to back out of the UN. It is a ttally useless , corrupt organization that uses American dollars to provide an enviable lifestyle to a lot of corrupt globalists.

Hi misterb... From what I

Hi misterb...

From what I could find out. Coburn has put a hold on this Global Poverty Act...I certainly could be wrong, and hope I am as I do not watch the Senate as much as I used to lately...hope to again soon...but there is so little going on or getting passed that I forget sometimes, a lot going on in too in my life...anyway, thanks for bringing this to my attention....I put a couple of links here for you if you want to go from there to search too for your Senator or the bill....let me know the latest you find out too.

As for McCain I posted about him yesterday on Brent Bakers thread that I guess would be two days old now, I'm on the bottom of the comments last I looked....I saw two of his town hall meeting now, one in Denver that was outrageous with his remarks which he retracted/clarified immediately afterwards on plane....and yesterday about GW and oil drilling...I cannot find a link for ALL of that try as I might...plus I just saw this earlier this morning and McCain wants us to close Gitmo to-boot.

anyway...you aren't alone friend in your thoughts....

"evolution by stealth"?

"...I have done a search on a bill on the net and come up empty..."

What was the phrase on the memo from the SPP meeting a couple of years ago that Judicial Watch obtained, "evolution by stealth"? I think that they were refering to how they would work quitely through the Federal and Military bureaucracies rather than openly in the legislatures, but it seems to apply to this bill as well.

"...
NB is truning into an internet "The View"..."

While I think that this may overstate the case, NB does seem at times to cover mile wide topics with an inch of depth. That 'drive-by' quality is one reason I don't post as much anymore. Sometimes there's 'too much heat and not so much light' with people posting across rather than to each other. And I think some of it is probably the format, ...

I've posted a little in the past on the illegal alien, SPP, issues, but people don't seem to think of it much. Its not that people here think you're strange, its just that they're uninterested. Its not in the news much, and this site responds to the MSM which gets to frame the issues. And not just here, since its not in the news often, people just don't think about it, and these globalist issues remain under the radar (and we've come full circle to the "evolution by stealth" strategy, which is nothing new BTW, the Fabian Society was afterall named for Quintus Fabius Maximus who is famous for stealthy battle tactics).

Astute observations... thank you. I am pleased that even with disagreements, I have generally been treated very politely.

(Save for one person who was a little rough.)

When I am Senor Senior Alcalde of the Southeastern states of the North American Union, I shall keep those kindnesses in mind.

Since I can't beat 'em I may as well join 'em!

Yep, I do that

Yep, I am certainly guilty of that,,,,,,, dam I did it again?

Realy, I cant help it : ]

Seem cheap ?

U.S. taxpayers to fork over as much as 0.7 percent of the nation's Gross Domestic Product -- or $845,000,000,000.00 -- on welfare to third-world countries.

You sure this isnt a discount from what we are paying now? Just kinda wondering? Ya know if they would just chuck in a "Dont want to here any more crap from you" clause I might just go for it ??

Joe

Joe,

It very well may be a discounted rate, but I haven't seen today's numbers anywhere. If you have any information, I would appreciate reading it!

Know idea, all I am

Know idea, all I am suggesting is that by the time you add up all of our funding/payments, not to mention privet donations, including illegals sapping our social programs. I would bet we are already in this ballpark? In fact I would be suprised if we were not.

general---

I hear you, but I believe this is in addition to what we are paying now. Time will tell--there are a lot of smart bloggers out there who will do some digging and the truth will out.

Make no mistake, I am

Make no mistake, I am certainly NOT in favor of guaranteeing anyone any of our revenue, in fact I find it quite insulting that we have politicians who feel we do not already pay our fair share. And am further flabbergasted that their are fools that continue to elect these self serving idiots. Maybe they deserve each other, maybe a little pain is in order for these panhandlers. I for one am sick of Gov making a mess out of things and then claiming they need more of my $ to fix it. If they really wanted to impress me they would tighten up their belt and find solutions with what they have, just like they ask us to do every time one of them open their mouth.
