Fellow Republicans,
You are shooting yourself in the foot. By all clear accounts, a pro war nominee will NOT win the election. If we choose McCain OR Romney as the nominee, they will surely lose.
As well, it appears with each passing day that Obama is closing the national gap between he and Hillary. It is very likely that he will be the Dem nominee.
My opinion is that if the race were between Obama and McCain (which it likely will be) that Obama will crush him. I'm talking 60% to 40% of the vote.
By his own admission, Obama will (supposedly) end the occupation of Iraq. If this is correct, then my premise of us "shooting ourselves in the foot" is true. Why? Becuase we could just as easily vote for an anti-war Republican known as Ron Paul.
In other words, either way you are getting an anti-war president. Do you want them to have conservative fiscal and social values or liberal. That will be the only difference.
As I have said before, the choice is ours. Lets hope we use it to pick the right candidate.

On 3/17/2006 on a very Cold day with Melting snow, 30,000 Vets, Eagles, Patriots showed up in DC, with a Group that traveled from California and gathered 15,000 US Flags on the way to DC, to demonstrate against the 10,000 Demonstrators that were in DC to do their "March on the Pentagon"....this was early 2006 in the Doom and Gloom days, and yet the Patirots outnumbered the Anti-war people 3 to 1 in the Cold DC demonstration.........and the MSM didn't cover anyone but the anti-war protestors.
And now, when Petraus comes to town in April with a winning strategy that is working and winning the War, any "anti-war Republican" or Democrat will be hiding in the Bushes with the "Suspension of Dis-believers".
Americans LOVE winners, and we are winning the War.....knocked off another Al Queda leader just this week.
Anti-war is Passe' ... not in vogue..... It's such good news that the MSM won't report it.
Obama is on the wrong side of Patriotism, the Squirel won't even wear a Senate Lapel Flag Pin. He's done. Hillary is on a KILL BILL campaign that will handcuff her before she can get Bill in Cuffs.
You think the MSM already has had enough of Bill, wait till he is visualized as the un-elected 2nd in command......Then who will want to be Vice-Vice President after Bill ? Hillary won't be able to get anyone on her VP ticket.....Republicans have lots of good Choices for VP's .
Republicans will be pushed foward by the Pro-War Winner crowd, The Patriots out number the Pin Heads.

February 1, 2008 - 11:54 ET by BinxlyJust to correct you, Ron Paul may have his own personal views on social issues such as abortion, homosexual marriage, and other things, but he runs on a libertarian principle where he believes it is not the government's job to interfere with our personal lives (which he is correct) and such issues that are hot button such as homosexuality and abortion, should be handled at a state level. I find it hilarious that so many Fred supporters on here fail to see the areas where Ron Paul and Fred were similar.
I can understand if you cannot support him for his anti-war stance, what I'll never figure out is why people have such a wrong view of how he'd handle situations at home. I guess its just much easier to hate the away team than be bothered with actually reading about them.
At any rate it will be McCain vs Obama. I actually think McCain will edge him out. Think about it, he will bring the conservative party more to the center, something many people want from BOTH sides as partisan politics give us nothing really but more arguments and nothing accomplished, but also many democrats who will be disillusioned by Barack, be it because of his race or lack of experience, can and will vote for McCain in good confidence because of his liberal stance on amnesty and various other issues to which he sides center to even sometimes center-left. Right wingers are annoyed by him as he is considered the Republican's Joe Lieberman.

There is no reason to even discuss Ron Paul's domestic agenda. His lack of a realistic, viable foreign policy removes the need. He is pathetically UNQUALIFIED. Why is he even still in the race? Time to weed out the unqualified, dontcha think? He's had his chance, failed miserably, and it is time for him to go home and be a congressman.

If we could get God to run for POTUS then all would be well, but until that day, people will continue to disagree who is best suited to run our nation. That's the beauty of our nation. The most popular opinion takes precendence and while it may not please everyone (example: my case for Ron Paul and the now apparent defeat he may face after Super Tuesday) yet it keeps it so that the power remains with the people and not the elites who feel they somehow have privledge or preference over other citizens in choosing the best way to run our nation.

History lesson for today: When the Nazis were pursuing their eugenics campaign in Germany, there was no state of Israel and were no Israelis. The Nazi regime was terminated in May of 1945. Israel was not founded as a state until 1948.
History lesson number two: The Islamofacists declared war on the United States back in the 1990's, though Bill Clinton never really noticed them in spite of several deadly bombings carried out by them against Americans. Then on Sept 11, 2001, all that neglect was rewarded when the Islamofascists succeeded in killing about 3,000 and destroying billions in property with four hijacked airliners. This war has still not been resolved.
So .... whoever the next President is, he or she will have to carry on this war, whether they like it or not and whether they support it or not. There are only two outcomes possible: victory and defeat. War is one of those binary things like dead and pregnant. Which one of these outcomes do you want?
