Naive Ron Paul
January 5, 2008 - 19:35 ET by candanceA few minutes ago, the distinguished Dr. Paul said Iran is a third world country and does not have the means to make nuclear weapons at all.
Where's Sarc?
January 5, 2008 - 19:39 ET by OldSailor88He would find something to defend that point of view. Straight up, RP is unhinged.
Hello, Candance! I'm watching football. You an NFL fan? I'll keep you up on the score.

January 5, 2008 - 19:45 ET by candanceI know they'll up winning, but I still think they suck.
RP still contends 9/11 was our fault and Iraq was an international crime. Giuliani pointed out Al Qaeda's attacks in London, Bali, etc to say Al Qaeda hates everyone equally. Paul really believes AQ will go away if we pull out of the middle east.
Now they're talking about "moral principles" that guide a president's life.
Unreal
January 5, 2008 - 19:49 ET by OldSailor88So if we stick our head in the sand, the bad man will go away. I hate to be the bringer of bad news for old RP, but the only way to prevent more attacks is to convert to Islam. They don't hate us, the hate our freedom.

Huckabee, your blue heart is showing
January 5, 2008 - 19:51 ET by candanceHuckabee currently sounds like a Democrat saying everyone is equal despite "net worth" or the way they were born.
Nice line from Thompson: money belongs in the pocket of the citizen unless the government can truly spend it better.
Paul going off on yet another rant about America being a global bully.

January 6, 2008 - 00:00 ET by UnsaneMethinks Sarcasmo worships Ron Paul because they argue so similarly. Listen to what Paul says, then read one of Sarc's posts, and see if you see any similarities not in their views so much as the style in which they are presented.

Immigration Roundup
January 5, 2008 - 20:31 ET by candanceMcCain wants temporary worker program for illegals because they are "God's children too." Since when did McCain believe in God?
Romney calls it temporary amnesty and says all illegals should be deported.
Giuliani says deport all illegals convicted of crimes and then offer amnesty to the rest.
McCain rebutts by saying Joe Lieberman is on his side. (?)
Romney and McRINO argue.
Ouch! McRINO says Romney could "spend his whole fortune on attack ads" without changing the facts.
Romney presses McRINO about deporting and McRINO says he doesn't want to tell some little boy his grandmother is being kicked out.
Gibson says it's not practical to deport 12 million people. Romney ducks.
Giuliani says Reagan was for amnesty and would probably be in one of Romney's attack ads.
Thompson defines the issue: if you're rewarded by staying in the country, no matter the fines or restrictions, you got amnesty.
Thompson says seal the borders, make illegal employment harder, and punish sanctuaries and the number of illegals would start to dwindle.
Huckabee wants to secure the border. He says tougher restrictions etc to make life miserable on illegals would compell them to go back home.
Paul says get rid of welfare and that would keep the illegals away.
Is it me, or is McCain quarrelsome tonight?

January 6, 2008 - 00:07 ET by UnsaneDid someone say, tennis?
My fave player, of course, is Мариа Шарапова.
Second on your list, transliterated back into Cyrillic.

Анна was SO overrated in ALL ways...
Res tantum valet quantum vendi potest.
Maria...of course. But
January 6, 2008 - 02:45 ET by JerMaria...of course. But Kournikova overrated in ALL ways? Unsane, you're insane. She is [was] without a doubt the most strikingly attractive female player in the history of tennis.
Plus, she was an outstanding player. The #1 junior in the world. She owns several major championships in doubles. She just could never get that first singles title. I remember one where she beat 3 of the top players in the world [something like both Williams sisters and Davenport] and then lost in the finals to a much lesser player.
So there!
Jer
BTW, I at least remember the alphabet from my two years of Russian in college...but that's about all.
Anna vs. Maria
January 6, 2008 - 07:27 ET by UnsaneJer, I stand by my statement. To me, Anna is utterly plain. I never understood the fascination with her.
And as for her playing, Maria put it best: "...she (Anna) hasn't won anything!" You know what's sad? She said that in an interview when she was FOURTEEN. If you compare Anna to Maria on the basis of mantels alone, Maria wins hands down, as she at least won Wimbledon and the U.S. Open among other titles.
Res tantum valet quantum vendi potest.
Believe me...not knockinig
January 6, 2008 - 09:38 ET by JerBelieve me...not knockinig Maria. She exhibited more poise by age sixteen than most twice her age. [Just wish she could muffle that Selesesque guttural squeal on every swing.]
Anna's mom was more of the classic beauty, but Anna'a body was without peer. If she had only had a serve.
Jer
More on you-know-who
January 7, 2008 - 01:14 ET by UnsaneAnna...so, so plain, did nothing for me. Мариа, on the other hand...
Мариа was a very impressionable young girl when Seles was a big name in tennis, so it is quite clear where she got that habit (of screaming on ever serve and hit) from. One, someone needs to pull her aside and tell her she is merely giving a bunch of guys like me ideas. :-) Two, she should continue doing it: Mauresmo for one openly whined about it at a press conference, which only says that the tactic works! Three, next time you are in Houston, check out KILT 610 AM from 2 to 6 CST, whenever women's tennis comes up. They tear up Шарапова for that habit by pairing her dismal performance in the 2007 Austrailian Open final with some very romantic music. :-)
One of the reasons I like Шарапова so much is her desire to win, her drive to be the best, her passion for the game. She always goes to a tournament to play. She is ALWAYS in the conversation when it comes to speculating on who will come out on top in tournaments, and whenever she hits the court, she is a force to be reckoned with.
Res tantum valet quantum vendi potest.
By the way
January 7, 2008 - 01:17 ET by UnsaneSure you know the Cyrillic from college...BUT...

January 6, 2008 - 02:49 ET by JerMe too...Me too...Me too!
I've been playing in ALTA (Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association) for nearly thirty years. Captain of team for about half that period...City champions at A-2 once. But I was more of a B level player. Forehand very average. Serve sucks.
I've seen all the tennis greats since mid-50's. I thought Sampras was all-time best [Laver a close second] until Federer. (However, I was amazed that in the recent three-match exhibition between the two, Sampras won the last one, and the other two were extremely close.)
Anyway, love the game...but very concerned about the state of American tennis
