Yep. It's called the Ron Paul Blimp. And before it's even up in the air, the media have begun to figure out what's going-on, which is unusually un-lazy for them IMO. But getting their attention has become remarkably-easy after that $4.2 million on November 5th, in part because they seem to want it spent on them.
What I find very funny is that RP supporters are totally unfazed by what was apparently a rash of $5000 fake-pledges from "our" trolls. These trolls are very much like Wile E. Coyote, so it's no shocker that their best plans always seem to backfire. In this case, their fake pledges fueled our excitement. Without them, the blimp might not have happened, but it's too-late now... As Nelson Muntz always says in these situations: "HA-HA!" :)

I saw the title and thought
December 7, 2007 - 08:33 ET by Free StinkerI saw the title and thought you might mention something about the Campaign Finance Law restricting Free Speech . . .

It looks like
December 7, 2007 - 08:54 ET by sarcasmoThey're using capitalism against the speech-restrictions, and they've hired the best Republican election lawyer (you can tell, he's also Mitt's!) out there. The main-drain on my speech this election is still the obviously politically-timed theft of my stuff by thugs wearing badges, though. The news media needs to do their job on that one, and so far I'm NOT satisfied they've even come close, so I'm doing it for them as a matter of principle.
The blimp is a totally-independent business. I just love the "blowback" irony of the fact that WITHOUT the bogus pledges, I probably would NOT have given them a hundred bucks. Multiply that effect by a few hundred, and the fakes become an advantage. :)

The Blimp hits Reuters!
December 7, 2007 - 08:47 ET by sarcasmoHere. But we're actually still about $20 grand away from airworthy as of just before 9AM EST. The deadline is midnight, though, so things look pretty-good...

Now Reason's blog covers the blimp.
December 7, 2007 - 09:58 ET by sarcasmoThis is getting fun... :) But I may need to up my dona...er..ad-buy from just a hundred bucks, in order to generate more paperwork for that FECal agency. They already know I "support a lawyer welfare program" for a living, but I may as well take the opportunity to tell them twice.
