The following excerpts are from an article focusing mainly on the EU, which is a few years further down the post-nation drain, but has parallels to what is being done in North America today. Article can be found here: http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/2007/08/eu-and-globalist-alliance.html
"...In other words: Multiculturalism is simply a tool for divide and conquer. Is there then any point in trying to comprehend its logic at all? Maybe it was just a convenient excuse used for disrupting the established order of nation states by flooding them with mass immigration under the cover of “cultural diversity” or historical inevitability...This was undertaken by a coalition of different groups with a shared goal of undermining Western nation states. I heard supporters of mass immigration a generation ago state that all this talk about how it would change our societies into the unrecognizable was scare-mongering and racism. Now, the same groups are saying that yes, our societies have been changed forever. It’s good, and it’s anyway too late to do anything about it, so get used to it! Their propaganda was used to deceive the public and keep it off balance in order to implement potentially irreversible changes with little real debate. They knew they would never get the permission to destroy their own countries, so they simply didn’t ask...."
"...By dismantling national borders, the EU has facilitated the largest migration waves in European history. When Poland became a member, many Poles moved to Britain, Germany etc. This left Poland with a labor shortage. They are now considering importing workers from the Ukraine and Russia to compensate for the Poles that left. At the same time, native Brits are fleeing to Spain because they don’t feel at home in Britain anymore. By such moves, you unleash a chain migration that will eventually smash nation states that have existed for ages. Yet this intra-European migration pales in comparison to the immigration from developing nations. The end result will — supposedly — be an entire continent of people without any national loyalties who will be divided, disoriented and thus presumably easier to control...."
"...The tribunals are created, always, by bureaucratic fiat. Democracy is not quite dead in Europe, but getting that way. The cumbersome, incompetent, ridiculously corrupt, incredibly arrogant, and unelected Euro-bureaucracy is already in a position to dictate trans-European policies that by-pass all national legislatures....”
"...To say that the USA currently has a border resembling a Swiss cheese is an insult to Swiss cheese. The “conservative” President George W. Bush doesn’t care one whit about the United States as an actual nation, only as an abstract idea, which puts him squarely in the mainstream of Western leaders. Was he bribed by business interests to keep the border open? Do his family and members of his administration have too close business ties to the Saudis to do anything substantial about Islam? Mr. Bush appears to get positively offended when people suggest that he should do more to uphold the country’s borders against illegal immigration...."

On immigration
September 24, 2007 - 00:06 ET by UnsaneThe threat is not immigration per se, but:
1) ILlegal immigration and
2) the refusal of some to allow those who do come here legally to be fully integrated into society.
I say we need to slam the door shut on illegal immigration. But also, if anyone overseas 1) wants to be a part of this country, 2) will not engage in criminal activity, 3) learns English, our customs, culture, and way of life...why should I object to their coming here? I accept all such people...so long as they follow the proper procedure of course. And I should, being a child of a LEGAL immigrant.
I love free trade, but hate illegal immigration. HANG ME FOR IT!!!
I don't think we're in
September 24, 2007 - 12:49 ET by cleverpigI don't think we're in danger of suffering the same problems the EU currently has with immigration and multiculturalism.
The US has been multicultural for almost 200 years. Diversity is already part of our culture. In many ways, EU nations are behind us because many of them are dealing with their first major waves of immigration just in the last few decades. The racial tension they are expereincing now is something our country has already been through. Sure, we haven't solved all of the problems, but we've got a much better dialogue in place for dealing with racial issues than many european nations do today.
Also, I think immigration into the US has historically been motivated by different factors than the current waves of immigration into Europe. The US has enourmous appeal for people all over the world. It is our blessing and our curse, but the fact is that people come to the US because they want to be a part of the United States of America. Conversely, many of the immigrants to western Europe today are refugees-- they move in order to escape hardship in their native countries. I think that difference may explain why there is so much less integration of immigrant communities in Europe than there is here. In order for a country to successfully absorb immigrants, there must be efforts made by everyone involved to integrate newcomers into society. That (generally) happens here and seems to not be happening in Europe.
So I don't think there's gloom and doom on the horizon for the US. I think immigration has always strengthened this country and will continue to do so. And I hope that the EU can make it through this difficult transition period and be as successful as we have in providing opportunities for immigrants while still maintaining their traditional culture.

The line between "melting pot" and multiculturism is not a fine line, you are wrong.
"but the fact is that people come to the US because they want to be a part of the United States of America."
Proven wrong over and over--they come here for our jobs and money/ People who want to be Americans do not walk the streets of our main cities, walking on our flags, raising their flag superior to America's and telling us that we do not own CA, NMK. AZ,TX and parts of CO and Utah.
You are so wrong that I will not bother to correspond with you again. YOU are the kind of person with the blinders on that is giving America away. You are very late to the party here and are spouting BS that I thought was put to bed about 6 months ago with the demise of Tumbler.
