Beware of Huckabee if you want illegal immigration controlled.

When I first read a few weeks ago that Huckabee played a role in bringing a Mexican Consulate to Arkansas, my alert meter went up.  We have 47 of these now and this is where the illegals get the Mexican Consulate cards.  What I found tonight, sends the alarms right thru the roof.  It would appear that Huckabee is EXACLY another President Bush when it comes to illegal immigration.  Please read the article I link to here: http://blog.vdare.com/archives/2007/04/29/2535/

I like Huckabee.

I particularly liked his comment on H&C last night about Hillary keeping her lips pressed to Soros' backside.

As you suggest, the spin on him is that he's pro Illegals.  My take on him is that he's pragmatic.  Pretty much like my own.

  1. Build the fence.

  2. Deport the lawbreakers

I just can't get my dander up too much against somebody who sees clearly on these two points.  I think "Herd 'em up. Head 'em out" is counterproductive.  We'd be fifty years in the execution. 

They are going to be here, regardless of our clear right to send them back.  Making "Send them back" our rallying cry paints us as heartless and lacking pragmatism.

Watched him on Glenn Beck the other night--My wife and I were very impressed. (Obviously he pushed the right buttons.)/ I was on another blog site and stated my being impressed with Huckabee- I very quickly got feedback that dealt with Huckabee's immigration record. It was not favorable. A couple of Arkansas bloggers said that Huck was changing his tune to garner votes but is truly an amnesty proponent. They posted articles from mags and internet that supported their claims. (As alamojb has done here(thanks).)

I am confused. Oh well, I liked Fred at the start-- still do. I guess the lesson is to always try to look behind the curtain before you leap.

I am receiving mixed reviews on Huck. Interestingly, Chuck Norris is endorsing Huckabee. I have found Chuck to be very conservative and his writings have reflected that. He has given me pause to consider what Huck brings to the party.

If conservatives are RIGHT, then liberals must be WRONG.

You know something,I find it difficult to believe any politician anymore.I'm a stone cold Ronald Reagan  conservative,but the leftists and even those on the right are concerned with special interest groups and corporate america.TO HELL WITH THE PEOPLE.My dad used to say"Don't Believe anything you hear and only half of what you see" and you'll be OK.The border isssue(s) is being ignored by republicans as well as the dems.We need someone making decisions from the center.A CONSERVATIVE WITH THE BALLS TO TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK FROM THE ENVIRONMENTALIST WACKOS AND THE LEFT SOCIALISTS.I got off topic a little bit  but my god, are we  going to allow the she-males and corrupt wacko,arrogant politicians to run our borders and take bribes,ooops,I mean earmarks,to destroy this nation??? That rape story is appallling. I mean, I knew the Huckster was a liar just by the way he talks (Oh yea, and seeing old video of him praising increases in taxes, etc.), but this is HORRIBLE! He releases this scumbag who any law abiding Texas citizen would have happily shot, and he rapes and kills again! And, after the victims told him he would!

This story is truly sad...and should do Huckabee in for good!

Which might shed light on his conservative credentials is his overall record on pardons. Ignore the most-infamous rapist/killer and broaden the focus, and you'll find that he was a bigger fan of clemency than most of us...
