Auto Refresh, is this new?

Since the appropriate forum appears dead:

When I am loitering on the NewsBuster homepage I noticed that it will
auto-refresh from time to time. Is this a new feature? Can it be turned
off? I don't like to "turn the page" until I have looked at the current
stories, but they keep getting pushed down the page.

 

Any help would be appreciated.
