Sources on the Internet show Stephen P. Kazmierczak (identified as the alleged Northern Illinois University (NIU) Shooter) had been a member and an officer of an NIU organization called the Academic Criminal Justice Association a search of that site shows that Steve K. (as he was apparently known to his friends) attended a "Potluck" where photos were taken and posted with links and filenames that named him "Steve" or "SteveK". Those photos are linked to below (Steve K. is apparently the thinner man with the crewcut and dark hair.) The webpage above indicates that Kazmierczak. was at one time the treasurer and later the vice-president of the organization.
Kazmierczak also apperently co-authored a paper entitled "Self-Injury in Correctional Settings: 'Pathology' of Prisons or of Prisoners?" Which can be found Here >> along with a short bio of Kazmierczak.

I like how they are calling for more "gun free zones" when the place this guy was able to pull a stunt like this was, well, gun free. You don't see him going to a gun show or a gun store where they are packing heat!

February 16, 2008 - 19:29 ET by Dee Bunkand I have friends, co-workers and Neighbors whose children go there. For any of you here on Friday - that had a lot to do with my mood and still does. I'm very upset by the whole thing and luckily everyone I know is okay.
I am very aggravated at the people who try to blame the whole thing on Gun control laws and use it for an excuse to forward their agenda. This kind of thing has become pretty much an epidemic and especially by me because within a couple weeks another 30 min away 5 women were shot down at a Lane Bryant store and there was the St Louis shooting in the next state over
The NIU gets much more publicity because of the weapon used, but the Lane Bryant shooting killed just as many people with a hand gun. The type of gun is not the problem!

February 19, 2008 - 19:26 ET by QueenMumWonder if the lack of media coverage and outrage re: the Lane Bryant shootings has anything to do with the fact that the perp was a black male? Hope they catch him soon. I think it more important at this point in time to focus on locating a killer who's on the run than trying to get into the head of someone who's no longer a threat. All the psychoanalysis in the world isn't going to prevent something like NIU and Virginia Tech from happening again.

My husband was saying that he was sickened by the fact that the Drew Peterson (who is even closer to me and pretty equal distance between the two shootings) case has had so much national attention but nothing to Lane Bryant. Don't get me wrong I want Drew Peterson thrown to the wolves. He's as creepy as they get. I even know someone who dated him when she was a teenager so I'm not blaming his victims, but they were with him by choice. His latest victim even knew about his last victim. I'm not blaming her, but she's not as innocent as the Lane Bryant victims.
These women were working, minding their own business and as innocent as someone can be. It is interesting that most of the stories the media glom on to involve white males as the perps. People are always saying the media discriminate because the victims are white but in the Lane Bryant case there were white and black women murdered and they could care less. Maybe the true discrimination has to do with the criminal involved.
