Alleged Barack Obama death threat leads to arrest in Miami

So just saying what liberals en mass have been saying about George W Bush for 8 years will get you in jail if you say it about a Democrat.

The double standard even exists in the Secret Service. Hey, NB folks... why not make this a cover story. Libs have been making movies, writing books and have said it on countless blogs and pod casts and vlogs about how they'd like to assasinate Bush and we on the right have been having coniption fits about how they're getting away with it... while all along their cohorts have been excusing it saying that it was free speech. Well... is it free speech to say that same thing about a Democrat??? Nope... You go to jail for that.

Really makes me mad!!! I'm so angry about this I don't even know where to start... Noel!!! Where is your voice of outrage on this???

All threats against The President or a candidate should be inverstigated fully by the Secret Service, not just when it's a Democrat, or someone the MSM likes.

I'm glad they're pursuing any threats against Obama. We shouldn't put up with this crap ever, no matter who it is.

I'm sure the Secret Service has investigated any perceived threat against Bush, but I somehow doubt a movie qualifies.

Have you ever once heard of any wacko libs being detained for threatening George W Bush??? I've seen video of them in their protest marches making similar claims about Bush... yet not a peep from the media... but their precious Messaih gets a threat from some good 'ol boy from Florida and we've got stories of an arrest...

This is a double standard.... for the threats against Bush.. they call it free speech... but against Obama... it's heinous and treacherous.

I agree with your points...I was very angry when I heard how this was being reported on msnbc anyway just mentioning Obama at first, then later come to find out, President Bush was also threatened by the same guy that you are talking about...both were threatened, but they decided to attempt to make this all Obama all the time as long as they could get away with it...I was glad to see the bias, obvious agenda get corrected later, but by then they were letting the story peter out....

So typical...inflict as much damage as possible in the time you have to do it in.

So the fact that Obama was the whole focus, while threat against someone who really matters, the President was an afterthought was because of the Secret Service???

And you do know that many in the Secret Service are ideologues just like those in the CIA who have time and time again, leaked information to literally screw this administration over... no one cares if the leaker hurts Bush and the US... but if the leaker helps Bush.... he must go to jail.

Same for this story. I'm betting the guy was no threat at all, but some liberals in the Secret Service targeted him and the Press dutifully reported the threat to Obama, and not the President.

I'm betting the same thing....it was the first thing that crossed my mind by the second breaking news story as reported by msnbc regarding all of this..the Obama all the time thing was just too much to believe, then by the third breaking news story they decided to include the President in all this mix...

I'm not sure if he is the right choice for President, but personally I would not call him that, just like I would not address the President that way.

It is the main job of the secret service to protect the President and I don't agree with your conspirisy theory and apparently the President does not either or he would say something.

By law, the Secret Service is authorized to protect:

  • The
    president, the vice president, (or other individuals next in order of
    succession to the Office of the President), the president-elect and
    vice president-elect
  • The immediate families of the above individuals
  • Former presidents, their spouses, except when the spouse re-marries
  • Children of former presidents until age 16
  • Visiting
    heads of foreign states or governments and their spouses traveling with
    them, other distinguished foreign visitors to the United States, and
    official representatives of the United States performing special
    missions abroad
  • Major presidential and vice presidential candidates, and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election
  • Other individuals as designated per Executive Order of the President and
  • National Special Security Events, when designated as such by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland

I don't think so. I believe they are hired by the Treasury Department.

I'm sure the President can have someone he really disliked removed from his personal detail, but he doesn't do the hiring and firing.
