Alford on Boxer

For those of you that missed it, Harry Alford was on Bill O'Reilly tonight discussing the altercation between himself and Barbra Boxer (D).
Bill seemed to be at least playing devil's advocate in defending Boxer in at least the view that she was being ideologically biased, and not a blatant racist.
I want to preface what I have to say next by pointing out that I thought prudence dictated that Boxer should be given the benefit of the doubt, and considering her general condecention, I don't think that there was enough to go on to definitively call her a racist.
I may have been wrong. After Alford explained his position on the original subject (and my position for that matter), He preceeds to relate the situation to black preachers pitted against other black preachers in the south, and pointed at Boxer's treatment of Justice Clarence Thomas, Ken Blackwell and later Condi Rice. O'Reilly stated that the Boxer would vote for anything for blacks, including affirmative action, etc...
Alford replied with maybe the most convincing and thought provoking reply I have ever heard on this subject spoken in the media. He said Boxer "loves poor black folks. She loves black folks in their place."
Ouch. I think Boxer might have trouble getting up before the count.
Update: Here is a link to both the video of O'Reilly's segment as well as the original altercation.
