We all know that the constant drumb beat from the MSM on their news casts and political programs is part of the reason for the publics turn left. Constant reports of casualties without context (lowest of any war we've had and comparable to deaths in our own country to civilians uninvolved in war) or any attention to progress. Also the unrelenting "culture of corruption" theme and practice of usually mentioning party affiliation when Republicans are accused of a crime and rarely doing so when it's a Democrat. The major Networks of ABC,CBS, & NBC are all filled with left wingers and left wing views with little attention given to conservative views. CNN and MSNBC are even worse and the only halfway fair cable channel is FOX.
Though most of us are aware, we don't often account for the sheer magnitude of Left wing propaganda that is made by Hollywood and the Networks in the form of entertainment. There is very little conservative balance. Even a movie like Passion of the Christ can't be considered conservative propaganda because it doesn't try to disparage liberals. You can't even go to a bookstore without seeing a prominent zdisplay of Bush Bashing and Republican Bashing books while having to search for conservative ones.
I'm going to use this as a place to keep track as I think of programs, movies and documentaries that are propaganda. There are so many that it will take me a long time and I'll do it as I think about it.
Feel Free to add any you can think of including any conservative ones that have attracted any significant media attention. I'm going to limit these to the time period after September 11. The list will end up being so long in the end that I'll cut and paste and sort it alphabetically if I ever finish.

Dee,
February 19, 2008 - 10:21 ET by ArmedDadHow about that Morgan Spurlock doc "30 Days" or something or other, and that film,"You Want Fries With That?" I think it was called? The one with the tagline "there is s**t on the meat".They both appear to be anti-capitalist-pro big govt./food police in theme.
Armeddad- 30 Days is a great example
February 19, 2008 - 10:41 ET by Dee BunkThanks! I'll add that to T.V. because it's a series . I'm not familiar with the Fries one and tried to look it up but couldn't find it
Dee,
February 19, 2008 - 13:23 ET by ArmedDadI have the "Rolling Stone" article that seems to be the genesis of the "Fries" movie,I'll try to post details later.

June 6, 2008 - 20:02 ET by cleverpigCan I just ask what you mean by deaths in Iraq being comparable to the deaths of civilians at home? Do you actually have some data on this?
Just for starters, About

Thanks for following up General Co. It's strange that cleverpig
June 6, 2008 - 20:34 ET by Dee Bunkasked about this on this thread. I know I mentioned on another thread about how they should report civilian, terrorist and soldier deaths but also report American deaths for comparison. I don't remember what thread it was. Maybe CP asked me there and I didn't see it. I lose track of threads very easily. Thanks for responding.
Hey Dee, great subject
June 6, 2008 - 20:44 ET by bigtimerHey Dee, great subject here...I have mainly been on the PC and watching mainly political shows for so long now, I can't contribute much here...
As for cp...she can't help herself.
I know Beck said something the other night about 6,000 deaths being lost on the borders for the last few years, can't find the link I was looking for to answer her question, although I don't think they were all Americans anyway...plus I didn't want to aide in derailing the subject of your forum thread.

Oh that's ok BT - I did this a while ago
June 6, 2008 - 20:55 ET by Dee Bunkand there really are so many that I got tired of trying to think of all of them. Some day, I'll go in here and try and add more and sort the list or something.
It really is astounding when you try to put them all down. President Bush would be leaving office with a 65% approval rating if it were not for all of this. It's such a despicable travesty.
Is there some reason I
June 9, 2008 - 02:10 ET by cleverpigIs there some reason I shouldn't ask here?
I don't actually have time to read every single thread posted on NewsBusters, so I'm sorry if I missed an earlier reference.
No it's fine CP
June 9, 2008 - 09:20 ET by Dee BunkI was just curious because this post was so old and I had forgotten that I even mentioned about the death comparisons here. The day you posted I had just mentioned it on another thread so I assumed you read it there. I was just confused that's all. Re-reading my post now I understand why it's here.
So your chances of being
June 9, 2008 - 02:22 ET by cleverpigSo your chances of being killed in combat in Iraq are about 1.6% and your chances of being murdered as a civilian in the US are about 0.005%.
Does anyone have any numbers that show that your chances of dying in Iraq are just as high as your chances of dying in your hometown shopping mall?
Not shopping Mall - but major U.S. cities CP
June 9, 2008 - 10:04 ET by Dee BunkTom Blumer did a great piece that shows your chances of dying a violent death in Iraq are less than or equal to your chances in at lest 10 big U.S. cities. He included all civilians, police and military in Iraq. Those numbers are much higher than U.S. soldiers killed.
Toms Blog on Violent deaths in U.S. Cities Vs Iraq Deaths
Your statistics are completely meaningless because people die for many other reasons than just murder. People get in car accidents and all sorts of other fatal accidents and the point is they are in "safe" non war zones. Every single death of one of our Military members is tragic and horrible but the left's claim that they died for nothing is absurd. They died in the line of duty for a cause. The U.S. murder and accident victims die for nothing. They are just going about their business and are killed.
