Tom Friedman asked an interesting question today in that media outlet most beloved by the denizens of Newsbusters, the New York Times:
"McCain talks about how he would build dozens of nuclear power plants. Oh, really? They go for $10 billion a pop. Where is the money going to come from? From lowering taxes? From banning abortions?"
Maybe McCain and Palin are too busy fighting the culture wars to answer any hard questions, so it's up to NewsBusters' intrepid readers to help them figure it out.
Where will the money come from to build all those dozens of nuclear reactors that John McCain has promised to build for $10 billion apiece?

September 14, 2008 - 21:44 ET by shawn228The government will do what it always does Jacob. It will print more money. We are already 10 trillion in debt, what is another trillion.
I would imagine though that after building the power plants, the money we save from no using foreign oil can offset at least some of it.
Question right back at you though. Obama will want to have Universal healthcare and give citizenship and medical coverage to many people that are here illegally. Can you tell me where that money will come from?

Obama who?
September 21, 2008 - 05:04 ET by Jacob FreezeJust because I ask a question about McCain's bullshit doesn't mean I buy into Obama's bullshit.
It's a big world, and there's room for more political persuasions than neo-cons and Obamabots.
If you google my name, you'll find about 1000 insults from Obamabots attached to it. "Cockroach" isn't exactly the worst, but a few days ago I posted a blog on TPMCafe about how no Republican had ever called me a "cockroach" on NewsBusters, and the Bots responded with more of the same.

September 15, 2008 - 17:56 ET by upcountrywaterThe biggest problem to overcome is the permiting process.
Alaska pipeline, 1,350 permits 6 years of paper work.. 3 years of construction on the pipe it self.
The paper work must weigh more than the Power plant, to start the building process.
This must end NOW.

September 15, 2008 - 18:12 ET by cocodrieThe money will come from the same place as conventional power plants - the people that buy electricity. It would be half the cost if the enviromental whacko left-wing extremists would shut up and go away. TETE-DU-MERDE
