Let's keep this cult issue in modern day terms, ok?

The moslem cult is the only one that I know of that still follows the practice of human sacrifice. All the other religions in the world have pretty much moved on.

First, I would argue the definition given by Merriam-Webster of "cult" has been considerably toned down from what most people would imagine the word, possibly another impact of PC. To me, at least, a cult is a group of people so fanatically devoted to a deity or idea that they ignore all reason, even to the point of ending their own lives. Typically, cults thrive on the type of people who have already given up all hope, those who are simply seeking some cause upon which to throw their lives. This is the exact opposite of those who embrace Christianity, those who see it as the embodiment of the grandest of hopes. Any religion that encourages its members to throw away their lives in its name strikes me as distinctly cultish. Islam does so, while Christianity encourages its members to live their lives to the fullest, spreading their hope and demonstrating their God's love by example. Frankly, they are polar opposites in that. Granted, in some trappings they hold similarity, like two sides of the same coin, but that is attributable to the human abuse of the power that comes with large religions, not the faiths themselves. Their most basic tenants are irreconcilable.

Second, your links on human sacrifice do not, in any way, indicate the acceptance of slaying an innocent as a sacrifice to God. Rather, they seem to claim the opposite, that such is murder, and shall not be allowed: "To kill an innocent adult was murder." They are, instead, discussing the nature of Christ's sacrifice, which actually is separate from the loss of his life. His sacrifice was taking all human sin upon himself; his subsequent death was the inevitable justice for a sinner, not part of his sacrifice. There is nothing here that suggests Christian doctrine allows human sacrifice. Comparatively, Islam encourages self-destruction through promising paradise (that paradise, in and of itself, is worth some scrutiny; why a harem of virgins?) to those who die in a specific manner, meaning believers will seek to create those conditions of their own will, ie suicide or self-sacrifice in the name of their god.
