I crunched the numbers from the White House myself this time. (1)
2001-2008 average 19.86%
1993-2000 average 19.91%
1989-1992 average 21.85%
1981-1989 average 22.40%
1977-1980 average 20.82%
1981-2008 average 20.88%
President Bush spent less as a percent of GDP then Presidents Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, & Carter. There is the FACT.
I am sick to death of viscous sticky internet turd trolls coming here thinking they can spout their ignorant lies. Then when caught out in a lie, they hem, haw, and spout ad hominem attacks and are never held to any kind of standard. They claim to come here to debate or learn or discuss. But the truth is they just want to pound on the ignorant knuckle dragging redneck conservatives and they think we will all take it because they think we will all turn the other cheek. So let's all harrass the meeks over at NewsBusters, eh?
I am here to fact check sticky turd trolls. Check-mate troll. This is now double sourced. BUSH SPENT LESS THAN THE LAST 4 PRESIDENTS before him. I don't know why, but I spent 30 minutes pulling and crunching the numbers to come up with the results. Sticky internet turd trolls ignore facts anyway. But at least we will all have an easy reference the next time a sticky troll pokes up his head and claims Bush was a big spender. Send them here.

April 19, 2009 - 21:23 ET by JWFYou run across that Liberal Lie anywhere on the internet, you link right back to here. Don't even have to argue with 'em.

Told ya so.
May 16, 2009 - 06:54 ET by JWFThis video show the comparison of Bush et al to the current Spender in Chief. He uses real dollars not as a percentage of GDP but you can see Bush compares to Ronald Reagan in real dollars. Not too bad. And Obama is sending us right off a cliff.

SO
May 16, 2009 - 07:08 ET by WhichWingSo they were all big spenders!

Do you have a point?
May 16, 2009 - 07:38 ET by JWFI see you have not commented here yet so that was your free card.
I spent a lot of time on this forum. I crunched those numbers above. Those numbers were taken directly from the budget of the White House. This ain't the torture forum. We are not talking law here. We are talking numbers from the budget and percentages I crunched myself.
I am asking you nicely to either make a serious point or move on.
Sincerely,
a Veteran of a 1000 psychic wars.
Why is this thread called
May 16, 2009 - 08:18 ET by WhichWingWhy is this thread called "liberal lies..."? Where is your "conservative lies..." thread? It seems odd that you are trumpeting the notion of 'spending about the same as the other guy.'
They were all big spenders. Party affiliation does not matter. Liberals or conservatives, whatever they pretended to be, they spent 'til the cows came home and all grew the government. You spent alot of time proving that we were ripped off by at least the last 5 administrations. And until we stop yelling liberal leftist and religious conservative at one another it will continue.
That is my point, and I believe it to be a very serious one.
Edit: this is what you were posting on another thread as I was writing this.

You are free to create your own forum called conservative lies.
May 16, 2009 - 08:21 ET by JWFYou think someone is lying to you. No one is stopping you from sending up the bullfrog flag and providing proper sources for the truth. In your own forum.
You point would be better heard in it's own forum. It is a digression in this forum.

Uh-oh
May 16, 2009 - 08:32 ET by shawn228Teh Vet is being nice, but if teh lib makes a thread called "conservative lies" the conversation might get teh Vet torqued again ;-)

May 16, 2009 - 08:17 ET by Georgia GirlI saw your "Do you have a point?" subject liner and clicked on it, feeling it could very well be for me. Because sometimes I don't have a clear point, and sometimes I am not concise. But I see it's for somebody else, so I'll be on my way now...LOL. :)
