If we knew how many at least view a a specific thread. some of the threads may not get any post but are read. Having a place to show how many views would be nice. can you add a place in the thread menu that would show how many views per thread?

October 9, 2009 - 11:56 ET by Georgia GirlWell, here is a thread I can follow -- my head was about ready to explode with news about O's "prize" (I can't even spell it out)...the world makes no sense anymore. It's enough to really dishearten. :(

Lighten up. The Nobel
October 10, 2009 - 03:24 ET by G. MayLighten up. The Nobel Committee lost all credibility years ago by adding names like Gore and Arafat. They're just solidifying their irrelevance.

October 10, 2009 - 08:39 ET by Georgia GirlGood point. It's my Norwegian guilt. But I didn't vote for him, and I'll get over it. ^_^
However, I do want to say that if Obama is "qualified" to win the Nobel Peace Prize, that makes about as much sense as my being named "Mathematician of the Year." [Granted, that would be much more ridiculous, but still -- it's silly.]

October 10, 2009 - 08:40 ET by FeynmanFanAre you saying that you didn't get the email from the "Mathematician of the Year" nominating committee?
They were supposed to notify you last week...

October 10, 2009 - 08:50 ET by Georgia GirlOh my gosh! I can't believe it. It must be all those complicated problems I've been doing in my head: 2+2=4...19-9=10...5x6=30. I thought those were really complicated, but I didn't have any idea that anybody else would realize just how much I have accomplished. I'll start working on my acceptance speech immediately! I already know how it should begin:
"Thank you so much, Nominating Committee...First of all, I want to thank God -- for giving me 10 fingers so that I can use them to count, because that has been extraordinarily helpful. I'd also like to thank..."

October 10, 2009 - 09:05 ET by FeynmanFanIt's not for the math you've done, it's for the math you're gonna do.
And don't forget to be humble and say you don't really deserve the award.

the reason is in the forum request thread
October 10, 2009 - 05:18 ET by Chattychitogo back an re-read it.
views are just that views it would be nice to know how many view any forum. not all who view, post. A thread with 200 post may have 400 view.

October 10, 2009 - 09:58 ET by QueenMumOkay. That's pretty much common knowledge. But, given that this feature would require some technical tweaking, what is the benefit to N.B. members in general? I'm no computer expert but as it stands, only registered N.B. members can post replies. In order to accurately log views, the system would also have to have the capability to "recognize" unregistered visitors. Or does your request only refer to registered N.B. members? That might be a bit easier to accomplish. JMO I'm sure your request is under consideration by those who make such decisions. Maybe one of the "resident" geeks around here can expand on how viable such a feature might be.
