I want to make it clear that I'm not suggesting HuffPo commenters are naturally inclined toward more elevated discourse. In fact, it seems the strict monitoring of comments began around the time a large number of tasteless remarks were posted in response to Tony Snow's death.
In any event, the comment section at HuffPo has been cleaned up considerably and it is a direct result of all potential posts being subjected to prior review.
