Which of the FoxNews anchors is peddling the Conservative message without a Liberal on to stink up the studio? Keep in mind that most Libs refuse to deal with FNC -by their own choosing. Many times during the day you'll hear: "We reached out to [fill in idiot Democrat's name here]'s campaign but so far, they've not returned our call." So outside of those situations, just how often does this right-wing, straight-news messaging occur?
Let's assume someone said over and over again that you are a fake fire fighter. Then you compare that statement to your vivid and lively memories of bravely and heroically extinguishing the huge blazes you were confronted with, possibly saving lives along line. Wouldn't you trust your memory more than said person's statement. Wouldn't that also imply that he is a liar? And for the use of the term "liar": JWF has set the bar just so low!
PS: Tame your ego. I wasn't replying to you. That would have caused an indent which as you can see isn't there. I'm still flattered that JWF thinks I'm sort of US homegrown in my use of the english language, that's why the compliment. But I envy you and would very much like to have your abilities to formulate highly condecending and yes sometimes witty remarks, but I think I have a long way to go before I reach your level.
And here is the pertinent part of the article you linked Jer;
News Corp policy does permit employees to make donations in a personal capacity. Fox News has long said it considers Hannity, similar to Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck, a host not a news anchor or journalist.
When Maryland and New York instituted a "millionaire's tax", they ended up taking in less tax revenue from that group than BEFORE the tax increase. Andrea, don't you bother to read the F'ing news? Wealthy people have the ability to RELOCATE when when people like Obama get greedy and try to gouge them. Spare us your faux concern about the poor since obviously you don't make the effort to see who are the ones who employ the majority of Americans.
Governor elect Moonbeam of CA is about to learn that very same lesson again in 2011 when he and his buddies raise taxes in CA on the so called wealthy.
MATTHEWS: Rush Limbaugh, I mean, is this rip and read from the Indian press? Is this the new standard now? Anything that you get from some stringer operation. It wasn't even an American newspaper stringer over there.
Is Mathews suggesting that American newspapers are automatically trustworthy because they are American?
The poster said: "gives voice to the Right" and "gives more voice to the Right" (and the intent in the wording of the poster -- if you read the context of the sentence -- was that the Right side gets scant coverage elsewhere). You re-worded it to say that FOX is a voice FOR the Right, which has an entirely different meaning. There's a big difference. In other words, Fox actually gives the Right side of the equation, as well as the Left -- unlike most of the media out there, who just spin Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Left on everything -- with a vengence.
If you ever check out the percentages of Right vs. Left views -- Right vs. Left analysis -- the actual tally that is documented, FOX is the one that is balanced by showing both views.
So what gave it away? All those "Right Wing" people they have such as Geraldine Ferarro, Juan Williams, Geraldo Rivera, Bob Beckel, Susan Estrich? . . . and that's just off the top of my head.
It seems to me MSNBC is being just a tad bit hypocritical. They've been banking on Olbermann for some time now, and for what? An obnoxious liberal voice, earlier to compete with O'Reilly, and more so with Beck and Hannity at present. So they suspend the guy who's been their loudest liberal voice...for being a liberal and supporting his liberal beliefs, those same beliefs they've been paying him for to speak out for liberalism.
I'll see what I can find. By the way, his endorsement of Martinez was made concurrently with the one for Thune. But, I was mistaken about Reno being Martinez' opponent--it was Betty Castor.
There are certainly some people here who don't care why he's been suspended, and a few who have expressed the opinion that it shouldn't have been done. I think most are just happy he got kicked off for a bit.
Personally, I think every news organization should keep track of who it's employees are donating to in order to monitor bias. But that would be assuming the news media was more concerned about reporting news than influencing it.
Nice catch Jer, Hannity gave at Fox. However, does FOX have a similar policy and did Hannity get permission if such a policy existed?
But the real issue here is what are NBC's motivations in getting rid of bathtub boy? Was this a convenient excuse to tone down the radical bombing leftist schtik? I would guess Keith will be getting some kind of severance package given the high profile of Joe Scarborough and Bill Press. Or will NBC pull a permission slip out of the hat for these two??? Doesn't the NBC policy make an exception IF they get permission?
Like NPR it seems NBC may have ulterior motives in which case they need to realize when they don't act like adults their actions will be viewed as petty and juvenile when phony reasons are given because in essence Keith had his reputation damaged by NBC. We all know Keith is a liberal, even though he denies it, it's like Joe Isuzu selling the Trooper or Pup. Or on a tangent, when Howard Dean announces he is not running for President in 2012 and supports Barack Obama, we know he is lying. The bottom line is transparency, unless the "reporter" says he's a Democrat and is shilling for the Democrat party he is unethical. Most of what NBC produces is unethical because it as a policy shills for the Democrat Party. Hence, NBC giving this phony self serving excuse about Keith's giving to Democrats as a reason for his suspension is simply NOT BELIEVABLE.
Ken I just saw that too, and was hoping to bring it up here.
Ethnic??? Chrissie is really getting ridiculous! And of course, Joan Walsh chimes right in....it's "personal"....like he doesn't "deserve" it.
BTW what does everyone else think about the way Matthews looks? I commented yesterday that he looked like he wasn't getting enough sleep, but honestly, looking at him tonight, he looks positively exhausted!! Like he doesn't even have the energy to get through his show.
He looks like he's just tired of the whole thing! He really ought to take some time off. And I'm not saying that in a nasty way. He really looks bad.
Jansing says: There can not be any rifts or discord in the Dimicrat party because Tingles would tell me if this ever happened. So blaaaaaaaaa on you! We are here to talk about how the Republican party has gone beserk in 2 days. I will tell Madcow on you!
Don't think me harsh, but why do the taxpayers have a "moral obligation" to those who have become unemployed due to incompetence and corruption in Washington? Shouldn't that moral obligation rest on the shoulders of Bawney Fwank, "sweetheart deal" Dodd and the rest of the swamp? The taxpayers real moral obligation should be to send the rest of the royalty of Capitol Hill to the unemployment line.

The following is an excerpt Media Matters published from a transcript of O'Reilly's Radio Factor. I rarely listened to BOR on the radio. I heard his candidate recommendations on his FNC show, but I don't know if those transcripts are available or not.
Tom Daschle: Don't care. With all due respect to the senator, we don't have any respect for him at all. And we hope he loses in South Dakota. And I -- really, I stay out of all these races, but you guys listening in South Dakota, vote for the other guy. This Daschle's no good.
I hope you're not going to pull a Dan the Man on me, who--- when I couldn't locate a comment I heard Rush make twelve years ago--announced "Well that means Rush never said it".

Don't let those darn facts get in your way. :-)
Why not replace Olbermann with an unimpeachable liberal --- "Rev." Al Sharpton!
Maybe they're starting to look at... I don't know... ratings?
My all-time favorite = Like being the head zit at an acne convention. (Thanks, Roger Christiansen.)
Keith is showing how what goes around can come around.
Many thanks, Keith. Live free and prosper!

So much for (MS)NBC's "news show of record" to quote Olbermoron when referring to Countdown. Some other Olby gems...
"I'm not politically biased"
"I'm politically neutral"
All documented at OlbermannWatch.com

Thanks. I love being first.

Makes no sense.

200 million Indian rupee is around 4.5 million USD. That sounds a much more plausible figure so I think someone has mixed up their dollars and rupees.
Southern Republicans, I might add. You know, the ones that EVERYBODY knows are racists.

Well at least one person will admit to Fox being a voice for the right, from the right.
I think you said that anyway.
