And another thing this liberal know-nothing forgot to mention. Just before Scrooge started singing this song, he was talking with the two men who were seeking charitable donations from him for the poor.
"Are there no prisons?" said Scrooge, "And the workhouses are they still in operation? I don't make myself merry at Christmas and I cannot afford to make idle people merry! I have been forced to support the establishments I have mentioned through taxation and God knows, they cost more than they're worth! Those who are badly off must go there!"
"Many would rather die that go there, sir." they answered.
Yet that is exactly what the liberals want to turn the entire country into. They want to turn all of American into the Dickensian 'work houses' and prisons of Scrooge's time. Government-run hell-holes disguised as charities - utterly mismanaged and doing more harm than good to the poor people they were supposed to be looking out for. Which gave PRIVATE charity workers cause to go out and create new facilities - so the poor and the needy would not have to descend into the nightmare of government-run 'charities'.

I understand your point, but should we at least attempt to help those who cannot help themselves? We live in the greatest Nation that history has ever seen. People who cannot afford coverage ought to be able to go to the doctor’s without having to worry about going bankrupt.

My point was simply that the healthcare mandate is not the same situation as employment requirements or automobile insurance. The healthcare mandate forces people into an activity they don't wish to pursue, and there are no other choices available to not do so. That was all I was saying.
And the bigger problem with this healthcare mandate going through is that it really would leave the door wide open for this and future administrations to mandate anything. So think of the most scary person you can for president...do you really want the way to be paved for them to mandate something for you?
The fact that she even created such a horrendous puke fest as "The View" is enough of a disgrace, but now she's decided to come out of the far-left closet and be a true, hate spewing far-left nut like Joykiller Behar, Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi-di-do.
