The Democrats weren't trying to restore it to previous levels [which I agree were punitive]. I believe their most recent proposal would have meant zero taxation on the first 3.5 million of the estate of the deceased. That's not exactly a paltry amount of capital for an heir to start with. The compromise calls for shielding the first 5 mil. Steinbrenner was able to transfer a ten billion dollar estate without it being subjected to one nickel in taxes. [I'll need to verify all of those figures...don't hold me to them yet.]
It's widely known that liberals have totally inflitrated groups like the Parents Television Council, which encourages it's members to write to the FCC to complain about programming they find might too accurately depict real life. Any program in which teenagers drink or have sex or in which families are lead by anything but a strong, perfect father figure, draw the ire of the PTC, Focus on Family, and Florida Family Council. These groups, which are as diverse as a Pat Robertson Christmas party, were set up to make conservatives look like they want to dictate public morality.
Liberals posing as conservatives at a rally is one thing. Writing complaint letters to have their own favorite shows kicked off the air? Well, just think about it.
Many in America are like Michelle Obama and have never been 'Proud of America' until Barack Obama was elected president.
Liberal Progressives are ashamed of America and hate the words 'American Exceptionalism' almost, but NOT quite as much as they hate the words 'Personal Responsibility'.
Another term hated, vilified, abhorred by Liberal Progressives is 'Equal Rights' for every Legal American Citizen.
Liberal Progressives feel intuitively that there can be NO Social Justice, if every legal American Citizen had the exact same 'Rights and Protections' - no more - no less.
Liberal Progressives believe that only unequal rights and unequal protections bring equality of 'Rights and Protections' to the American Citizenry.
America is Exceptional, in fact America is the most Exceptional Nation in the History of Mankind.
I have watched this video several times and it is the most uplifting Political Message I have ever seen or heard (I plan to watch it several more times).

As much as admire President Reagan and it is always a treat that he is cellbrated, we need to move to eliminate the USPS in its entireity. This is just another government sink whole for hard earned tax dollars.
There is ample proof that companies like FedEx, UPS, etc. are doing the job of moving mail and packages at far greater effiecieny than the USPS. This is just another pork barrel union run entity that belongs in the private sector.
With the states and our federal governmnet bankrupt, it is both prudent and wise to get rid of this millstone around the American public's neck.

The solution posited by Barack Obama and Liberal Progressives is that Americans could afford to pay for Doctors, Nurses, Hospitals and their Medications, if almost 200 NEW Government Agencies, thousands of NEW Government bureaucrats, millions of NEW Patients that consists of Illegal Aliens and others who will NOT pay ANYTHING into the Health Care System were added to the original costs.

Liberal Cognitive Dissonance is the holding of two or more diametrically opposed views of reality as the singularity of reality, this is a serious 'Mental Disorder'.
Why not start out by yanking the school principal's chain a bit. March right in to the office and say with a straight face that you demand they stop using the word HOLIDAY.

What about the estate tax? Democrats never miss a chance to try to increase that, as if a person shouldn't be able to leave their wealth to their families. Which makes it easier to succeed when you have some capital to start with.
In the obsessed-by-looks culture we live in, I find the election and success of Governor Christie sort of a refreshing. I don't think he's going to end the obsession, but,maybe, one day, we will get back to judging people by their talents rather than how good they look.
The Democrats proposed legislation that would have retained the same rates for every single taxpayer in America except those earning in excess of one million dollars per year. That means someone earning, say, $1.1 mil per year and previously taxed at a 35 per cent rate leaving [disregarding state and local taxes] disposable income of $715,000 would now be forced to scrape by on a mere $710,400 per year. Oh the humanity! The unconscionable soaking! The Republicans simply could not abide the infliction of such grievous economic carnage upon the super rich. So they killed the bill.
The disproportionate concentration of wealth is more pronounced today than at any time since the 1920's. The notion that the Democrats have been or are attempting to block the upward mobility of the middle class--or 'disincentivize' any class--is just plain bunk.
If she's overwhelmed at the thought of taking charge of their curriculum, PM me and I can allay a lot of her fears. If it's just because she doesn't want to put that kind of time and effort in, well, I can't help with that.

My guess on the others is that they are liberals posing as conservatives to make it appear that conservatives are complaining about the shows.

After googling FCC Complaints I was somewhat surprised to learn that liberals are not the only group filing complaints with the FCC.
The first page of results alone mentions complaints against Family Guy, Adam Lambert, and Showtime for a Penn and Teller ad, as well as Palin.
I'm guessing liberals made the complaints about Palin. Any guesses on the others?
