Politico Reporter: IRS Targeting of Tea Party 'Easily Influenced' 2012 Election

By Jack Coleman | May 22, 2013 | 19:51

A  A

The signs keep accumulating that the IRS scandal is worse than liberals are willing to concede.

On Bill Press's radio show yesterday, a reporter with left-leaning Politico told Press that the Internal Revenue Service dragging its feet on applications for tax-exempt status from tea party groups probably affected the outcome of last year's election. (Video after the jump)

Current TV's Press Brings On Disgraced N.Y. Governor Eliot Spitzer To Mock Mark Sanford

By Jeffrey Meyer | May 08, 2013 | 18:51

A  A

Current TV’s Bill Press is visibly distraught over the loss of Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch to former Governor Mark Sanford (R-S.C.) in the South Carolina First Congressional District special election.  The liberal commentator was clearly a sore loser on May 8, and took to the radio to openly mock Sanford and the voters of South Carolina.

Press’ main attack against Sanford was his continued reference to God for his political comeback. "Mark Sanford suddenly he found religion… You know what, alright, so he won but stop the God talk," a bitter Press, himself a former Catholic seminarian, groused.

Bill Press Threatens: I Want 'Unfreaking-bearable' Flight Delays, Americans 'On Their Knees'

By Paul Bremmer | April 24, 2013 | 17:50

A  A

Add liberal host Bill Press to the list of liberals who want the sequester to hurt Americans in order to prove a political point. On Tuesday morning’s Full Court Press, his radio talk show simulcast on Current TV, Press predicted that the FAA furloughs that went into effect Sunday will be just the tip of the big, bad sequester iceberg:

“[Y]ou know what, it’s gonna get worse and worse and worse and worse and at some point, Americans are gonna be down on their knees saying please get rid of this sequester. It’s gotta happen; you cannot do these across-the-board mindless cuts without having impacts like we started to see yesterday.” But Press didn't stop there, insisting that he "hoped" such delays continued and that they become "un-freaking bearable in every way." Bill Press, Impersonating Ed Schultz: Evil GOP Rooting for Sequester and an Economic 'Tailspin'

By Tim Graham | February 24, 2013 | 08:56

A  A

It’s time for your liberal radio quiz: which of these quotes is wackiest? First, on Friday’s Bill Press radio show, Bill decided to loosen up for the weekend by trying out his Ed Schultz impression. He didn’t try to do the Schultz voice. He just stole the whole “the Republicans like it when the woman gets cancer" routine, and applied it to the scheduled sequestration.

“The reason they’re not going to get anything down is Republicans decided they like the sequester,” said Press. “They want it to happen they want 800,000 employees to lose their jobs at the Pentagon. They want the economy to go into a tailspin.” Oh, the GOP was rooting for disaster, and he wasn’t through:

Wannabe Pope Bill Press, John Fugelsang: Benedict XVI 'Running the Catholic Church Into the Ground'

By Matthew Balan | February 11, 2013 | 19:34

A  A

Radical talk show host Bill Press couldn't resist bashing Pope Benedict XVI one last time on Monday as the news broke that the pontiff would be abdicating at the end of February. Press, along with sidekick Peter Ogburn and regular guest John Fugelsang, forwarded common misconceptions from the left about Benedict's reign as pope and his previous work as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, especially his handling of the priest sex abuse scandal.

Fugelsang cracked, "It's my understanding that he wants to...devote more time to running the Catholic Church into the ground in the private sector." The left-wing radio host, who mocked the Pope for joining Twitter in December 2012, agreed wholeheartedly: "He's done a good job of running it into the ground from the Vatican – that's for sure." [audio available here; video below the jump] Press, a former seminarian, also half-jokingly fantasized about becoming pope himself:

GOP 'Thugs' in Congress Guilty of 'Assaulting' Hillary, Bill Press Whimpers

By Jack Coleman | January 24, 2013 | 19:35

A  A

Surely without intending to do so, liberal radio host Bill Press has providing a compelling argument against renewal of the Violence Against Women Act.

On his radio show this morning, the easily piqued Press sniffed in disdain at the sheer effrontery of Republican senators asking pointed questions of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi. (audio clip after page break)

It's Obama Who Needs 'Binders Full of Women': Libtalker Bill Press

By Jack Coleman | January 14, 2013 | 14:27

A  A

Looks like that much ballyhooed GOP-led "war on women" has jumped parties.

Remember how liberals barked at the moon after Mitt Romney said during one of the presidential debates that he requested "binders full of women" while governor of Massachusetts to bring more women into state government? (audio clip after page break)

By Jack Coleman | January 06, 2013 | 22:11

Liberal radio host Bill Press is boasting of a recent encounter with Biden in which the vice president graced him with the f-bomb, according to Press, in a characteristically Bidenesque manner. (audio clip after page break)

Republicans Can't Govern Because They Hate Government, Bill Press and Guest Airily Agree

By Jack Coleman | December 05, 2012 | 20:30

A  A

In their reverence for all matters governmental, more liberals should know the difference between conservatives and anarchists.

Instead, it's the left winger's most hackneyed conceit -- that because Republicans see immense and wasteful government as undesirable, they are intent on wrecking instead of reforming it. Hardly a week passes that I don't hear this argument, just as that length of time rarely elapsed years ago when I was a leftist and fell back on it myself. (audio clip after page break)

Old Bill Press Mocks Pope for Joining Twitter, While His Fans Accuse Catholics of 'Causing Millions to Die' in Third World

By Tim Graham | December 03, 2012 | 09:24

A  A

Reuters reports the Pope is entering the world of Twitter at "Pontifex." On Monday morning's Bill Press show, the former seminarian mocked the 85-year-old pontiff: "What do you think the chances are that the Pope has any idea how to access Twitter?" By the way, hip Bill Press is 72.

Press producer Peter Ogburn mocked the plan for the Pope to answer tweeted questions at #askpontifex. He read some favorites, which ranged from Jesus-and-microwaved-burrito questions to the assertion that the Catholic Church is causing "millions to die in the Third World" by opposing condoms: [ relevant video follows the article ]

Bill Press Weighs in on Petraeus Resignation: 'Grow Up America'

By Ryan Robertson | November 12, 2012 | 19:04

A  A

On everyone's mind this morning was the resignation of CIA Deputy Director David Petraeus on Friday. Liberal radio talk show host Bill Press did his best to catch his listeners up on the details of the scandal, but then went on a rant asking why it's even an issue.

At no point in his defense of the former Army general and CIA chief did Press bring up the impending hearing concerning Libya on Capitol Hill that Petraeus was scheduled to appear before, nor did he think an FBI investigation was necessary -- despite the confidentiality agreement Petraeus submitted to before accepting one of the highest, if not the highest-level security clearance job there is in the federal government [ video below, MP3 audio here ]:

Libtalker Bill Press provided an example of this on his radio show yesterday, venting about the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, Sheldon Adelson and Foster Friess for their alleged nefarious plans to seize control of the country through its politics (video after page break) --

Bill Press Crowed Deadly Superstorm Sandy's a 'Political Winner' for Obama

By Tim Graham | November 04, 2012 | 09:19

On Friday's Bill Press radio show, several "objective" journalists agreed with Press that Hurricane Sandy is a big boost for Obama's election hopes. " Looking at Bloomberg’s endorsement and other factors would you have to say that if there were a political winner out of Sandy, it’s President Obama. " This was early Friday morning, before the negative press coverage really began to kick in.

Joining Press in his sanguine assessment were his guests Margaret Talev of Reuters and Susan Page of USA Today. He told Talev:

With Fearful Election Looming, Bill Press Claims Romney Would End Federal Disaster Relief

By Jack Coleman | October 30, 2012 | 18:49

A  A

Liberal radio host Bill Press counts himself among bedwetting left wingers who are claiming Mitt Romney wants to eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

All this claim demonstrates is that those making it sense disaster on the horizon -- specifically, Election Day -- and that they can't distinguish between moderate-since-birth Romney and unapologetic libertarian Ron Paul who actually would abolish FEMA. (audio clip after page break)

Liberal Radio Hosts Cheer On Tough Questions From Reporters -- to Romney About Mourdock

By Tim Graham | October 27, 2012 | 07:26

A  A

While (national) reporters can't seem to ask President Obama a pointed question about Libya, on the Bill Press show on Friday, Press insisted the favorite Democrat story of the week (Richard Mourdock's pro-life comments on rape) has national reporters proving, according to Press, that Mitt Romney "doesn't have any courage."

Press' s producer Peter Ogburn said liberal reporter-friends of the Press show are pushing the story in Romney's face: "Our friend Sam Youngman from Reuters -- who we have the on the show as often as we can, because he’s on the road. But he was on the road yesterday. He said at a breakfast stop, me and Steve Peoples from Associated Press and Lisa Lerer from Bloomberg asked Romney repeatedly about Mourdock. He did not respond. So he was there, Sam was one of the people asking the questions, and Romney didn’t bother responding." Press said that insulted all women in America:

Bill Press: A Gay Voting for Romney Is 'Like a Chicken Voting for Colonel Sanders'

By Tim Graham | October 13, 2012 | 07:56

One of the most dreadful sayings in Republican-bashing politics is the idea that blacks voting for the Republicans "is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders." I still remember former Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts telling that story, that his father would say that. Republicans aren't for boiling humans in oil.

Bill Press broke out a new version of this smear on Monday's show on Current TV and talk radio about gays voting for Mitt Romney:

Bill Press Hails Democratic 'Truth' Convention, Compared to 'Pale Male Stale' GOP Convention of 'Lies'

By Tim Graham | September 07, 2012 | 22:51

A  A

Bill Press was the very model of a modern talk-show partisan on Friday. He loved the Democratic convention: "What a contrast with Tampa, right? This is a convention that told the truth and Tampa was the convention that just told nothing but lies, lies, lies, lies. There were no lies here. Joe Biden told the truth Barack Obama told the truth Bill Clinton told the truth."

Press also welcomed in black talk show host and political strategist Richard Fowler and adored his put-down of the Republicans in Tampa as "pale, male, and stale." Press apparently doesn't think he could be described with any of these disparaging words:

Bozell Column: Liberals On The Lying Frequency

By Brent Bozell | August 25, 2012 | 08:24

A  A

As easy as it might be to forget them in the cobwebs of the AM radio dial, the liberal pretenders to the Rush Limbaugh throne are still broadcasting, and they're often utterly, shamelessly ridiculous. Case in point: Even Al Sharpton lamely used his radio show to defend Joe Biden's anti-Republican "they want to put y'all in chains" race baiting in front of a black audience.

Another case in point: Liberal radio hosts adore Harry Reid for making utterly unsubstantiated ugly charges that Mitt Romney evaded taxes for a decade. Bill Press has routinely declared his love for the tactic — even on CNN, where someone might have noticed. On "Reliable Sources," Press taunted the journalists who might want to play by the rules of evidence.

The Huff-Po View: If High Court Overrules ObamaCare, Justices Are Stupid and People Will 'Die As a Result'

By Tim Graham | June 15, 2012 | 23:25

A  A

On Wednesday's edition of the Bill Press radio show, Huffington Post reporter Ryan Grim put on his best conceited act and expressed that the Supreme Court just doesn't have great brains on it, and they're not qualified to overturn Obamacare. In fact, if they overturn Obamacare, Grim warned, "people's lives are at risk and people will probably die as a result." Conservatism kills.

It's amazing that Grim would say it's the Supreme Court with the failing brains, since he originally boasted (before oral arguments) that Obamacare would be upheld 6 to 3. Now he doesn't believe that, because the Justices are too stupid to rule on it, especially Antonin Scalia: [Video and transcript below]
